FIRST NEGATIVE 100 STARS. I've been a loyal customer to this place for 5+ years & never would I ever think I would be disrespected like how I was today. As mentioned in a previous review I guess it was my turn to have a gnat in my rice. I called & told them I don't want the food because there was a bug in it. Of course they tried the whole we will remake it for you but nope I want my $$ back. Drove 25 mins back, now the young boy at the front gave me the option to have it returned back to my card or cash. Of course I said cash because I wanted my $ back instantly like how it was taken away. Can you believe one of the older ladies said something in there native language to him, they end up going back & forth and then he tried to deny the cash option & wanted to void the charge because of the credit fees they were charged. So the business doesn't want to take a lost to a credit charge fee but rather a loyal customer for 5+ years. This place has really fallen downhill & clearly lacks integrity. I ordered chicken and garlic sauce and they sent me chicken and broccoli!! Are you kidding??? If you're too lazy to make the order that I actually orders JUST SAY THAT!! I've ordered here before so I am very aware of the difference. This isn't the first time I've gotten the wrong order too! I spend $50 to get sub par food and it's wrong!!! First time eating from here. Ordered the Lobster Egg Foo Young (tasteless, mushy and the "lobster" was leathery and chewy). I also order something called Szechuan 'Ming' Shrimp. Anyone who knows anything about Szechuan items knows it has a kick to it. This was absolutely a disappointment. Visually it looked great. Taste-wise? Loaded with sugar and I had to use Chinese mustard to give it some sort of spice. It's also loaded with peas and carrots. I gave this 2 stars just for the fact that the portions are decent. Love going here. Great for Friday night takeout. The food tastes fresh and the prices aren't bad. I appreciate their honesty whenever I ask for no MSG. Don't get me wrong, I love MSG but sometimes I need a little break and will ask for food without it. They do a pretty good job of honoring that. I wish they would add scallion pancakes to the menu because I love them so much! Usually I order shrimp and broccoli with either plain or garlic sauce and some chicken wings. I have yet to be disappointed. Wings are crispy and delicious, shrimp are fresh, and broccoli is always nice and crunchy. Not happy at all. Flavorless food, the ribs had no bbq sauce on it, the chicken wings were a bit raw. So disappointed.

I ordered chicken wings and a pork egg roll. The wings were tasty and flavorful. They were not under cooked or over cooked. I liked that they cut the wings up to make sure they fully cook inside without burning it. The pork egg roll could have used more flavoring, it was a little bland for my taste. As far as delivery chinese food goes, this is the best one within 20 miles...guaranteed. First of all, they use the better plastic packaging for most of their stuff. Their meats are a much higher quality than most other places around, ie. chicken and broccoli is very good, not too oily and the meat isn't too chewy. Great Chinese food in Union. Located conveniently in the center of Union, we sometimes pick up food while walking home from the bus stop not too far away. The staff is friendly and easy to communicate with. The food is great. I love their chicken wings, cheese wontons, broccoli with garlic sauce, and lo mein. Their egg foo young is not their best dish. Not a lot of seating in the restaurant, it is definitely a takeout/delivery location. Fast delivery, even in snow storms. read more

Best Chinese food in Union. The Beef with Green Pepper and Tomato was really good. Very tender beef, fresh green peppers and tomatoes and lots of them. You can't really tell from the top down photos I posted, but this is a lot of food. Each entree is easily enough for two meals, maybe more. I also enjoyed the Sliced Chicken with Garlic Sauce. I'll probably skip the roast pork egg roll next time. I ordered online and had it delivered. The online ordering system was easy to use and delivery was about 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon. The containers they use are higher quality that other places and do a good job of keeping the food warm and storing leftovers for the next day. Good value. The total order came to $21.65, including a $1 delivery charge. After tip, I ended up paying $25 for enough food to last four meals. Can't wait to order again! read more

This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant in town. Food never fails and they are always fixing problems if they occur

First time here. Great portions of perfectly cooked lunch. My boneless ribs were not dried out with a very generous portion of fried rice. About twice as many ribs as most places. Clean and well lit with plenty of tables. I really would love to see them use plates for dine in rather than foam take out containers. read more

Found a bug in my pork fried rice was completely turned off We use to order from there like 3 times a month their food was good the place was clean and they had the best fried wontons hand down....But I can't get over the huge gnat that was in my rice will no longer be ordering from there I did not call and complain I ended up throwing everything out and throwing up My family would also order from there and my mother stated last time she went the lady was taking calls helping customers and making wontons and was not wearing gloves or washing her hands and it smelled funny in there.... Decided to try this place last night and get some Chinese takeout, usually we go to joy food house (another Chinese takeout) spot in union.... I enjoyed the food and the ladies were very nice when I picked up. I just wish they had some sweet sugar dumplings.... I like something sweet after my meal. Food was greasy but most importantly, customer service was rude. Beware, they up charge you hiddenly for substituting veggies. I asked to have the broccoli switched for mushrooms and on my final bill, it was a two dollar increase. When I asked her about it, she said it was because I switched for mushrooms. I've only had once and I'm attempting to eat another order now.. I was drinking the first time so I can't tell how good it really is.. however, the customer service is horrible.. two women I say twice.. one is always on the phone and the other has a crappy attitude.. lucky for them the food was tasty the first time.. 2.5 but since I can't they get 3 stars since the food is good.. better service will def get the full five stars from me. My first and last order from Great Wall Kitchen was roast pork egg foo young for lunch. The pancake was tolerable (not great), but the sauce was tasteless, and that's really the most important part of the dish. It tasted like thickened water. I won't be ordering again. What a disappointment. I used to like this place a lot. Ordered vegetable lomain and the noodles are so incredibly thick and it is so tasteless. The pork eggroll was disgusting. I wanted to try this place out for the first time. As I waited in line, I saw two people answering phone calls. We were waiting for so long. They began taking orders as soon as the phone stopped ringing. One person should be answering calls and the other person should take our orders. When they called our order, I asked the lady if this order was this specific number and she said yes. I grabbed my food and went home. So once I grabbed the food out of the bag, I realized the lady gave me the wrong order. So I had to drive all the way back to the place and wait for my order. I was beyond annoyed. We got the correct order and had dinner. Next thing you know, my daughter had an allergic reaction to one of the foods that we ordered. She eventually began throwing up and her lips began to swell. I don't understand why this place doesn't list the ingredients that are in the foods. I tried searching up the ingredients on the website and it didn't show. I really hope they don't use the exact same pot for every food because that is just irresponsible. A person who has a peanut allergy or any other allergies should be aware of what is in their food. The only think worse than the food at this place is the service. The staff is extremely rude. On more than one occasion I've been asked to "hurry up with my order" because they are "too busy to wait." Ironically, they have the slowest delivery time of any place in the area - never less than an hour for even the smallest, most basic orders. I ordered Szechuan tofu from the "vegetables" section of the menu and received a sloppy-appearing plastic container filled with silken tofu, brown sauce, and a small island of green peas lumped to the side. It appeared unappetizing, but I was hungry so I began to fill my plate only to notice chunks of meat emerging from the gooey mixture. I called the restaurant to confirm that this was, in fact, meat in my "vegetable" dish. I was passed to a second person on the other line who told me that I should have expected the pork despite the lack of mention in the description and the item being listed in the vegetables section. She explained that this is the way Szechuan tofu is made everywhere. Tell me, how is it that a Chinese restaurant specializing in fried. chicken. can maintain such strict culinary standards of fine Far Eastern cuisine? Perhaps if it were listed as the more recognizable Ma Po tofu I may have inquired about the possibility of pork, but again... VEGETABLES section of the menu. So no, I will not be sampling the culinary specialties of the Great Wall Kitchen once more- not because of the pork, but because of the terrible attitude and customer service. read more
