I was hungry and was nearby the area. I didnt want any chain restaurants or sandwiches. I've been in a support local places and I love fried chicken so this place got my vote. I wanted to test this place and I failed! I ordered a large plain fried rice but with 3 eggs and an order of fried wings. The smart girl charged me 75 cents for each egg. I'm okay, everything still cost under $15. Fried rice was greasy but its rice boiled in oil. Can't complain like other reviewers, Plenty of parking the lot. I'd come to test them again :) read more

3.5 stars. My daughter wanted Chinese tonight. I've lived in this town for 20 years and have never tried this spot. The town's social media group gave this place rave reviews and was voted #1 out of about 8 other Chinese food places. I placed an order for General Tso's shrimp, shrimp chow mein, House Lo Mein and a shrimp egg roll. Everything came to $35. They do not deliver at all. The lot had plenty of parking and I'm thankful because this 5 points lot can get pretty busy throughout the day. 8:00 at night though and the lot was pretty empty. I got home and realized they didn't give me my shrimp egg roll. I was frustrated to say the least but I called and was grateful to receive an apology and she asked me if I wanted to come back and get the egg roll. I politely declined. This place is 15 minutes away from where I live and I didn't feel like going back out. I told her I would probably order next weekend and would pick up my egg roll at that time. The food was really good. The shrimp in the General Tso's was huge and the shrimp in each dish I ordered tasted fresh. Delicious. I think the prices are much higher then your average Chinese spot but you get what you pay for. I still kinda wish it was a bit more cost-efficient. My husband had a hankering for Chinese, so we chose Union Lotus based on other Yelper's reviews and because our usual is closed on Sundays. I'm always wary of new Chinese restaurants, and the quality of meats used. Union Lotus is on par with other takeout spots. One thing I did appreciate that other Yelpers noted is how their food wasn't greasy in the slightest. Their egg rolls where larger in size. The fried wontons could've used more filling to wrapper ratio, but tasted good. My husband and I enjoyed our beef and broccoli with fried rice, and chicken lo mein. I would've liked to have known the lo mein came with mushrooms, as that's not typical to all lo mein dishes, but nonetheless I picked them out. We would order from Union Lotus again! read more

Came back because it was just toooo good. I love authentic Chinese and great service. They have real hot oil sauce and they listen when you say "add spice." I enjoyed Singapore mei fun with just shrimp and general Tso shrimp. It was very good. read more

My boyfriend and I loved this place! We got the Singapore mei fun noodles, pork fried rice and Kung pao chicken. All were great but our favorites were the rice and noodles. They give huge portions, so it's perfect for multiple meals! The rice was literally overflowing, the noodles were about to bust out of the container. This is a good takeout place. I ordered from there recently because my regular Chinese takeout does not open on Mondays. Not much difference between the two except: (1) Lotus is just a tad more expensive; (2) their dumplings are shaped differently (I prefer the other place); and (3) the parking options at Lotus are considerably better! I think they changed ownership or cook for the soups just don't taste the same. Prior to covid that was my go to place for Chinese fastfood for like 8. 9 yrs. In the last 3 mo's I and others in my family have noticed a change in taste. Not that's it's horrible but there's just something different. read more

I love Union Lotus! I get their General Tso's Chicken and an egg roll with pork fried rice very regularly! I have so many places to compare this to and not one comes even close to Union Lotus! I've lived in Union since 2003 and have been coming to Union Lotus (formerly Hunan Royal) for probably 10 of those years. The staff is very nice and I've never had an issue with the food. Pretty much your average Chinese takeout. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Some of the Szechuan dishes aren't spicy enough. The vegetarian selections are good overall. The beef is subpar, has too much fat and gristle on it. Chicken and pork are fine. The wantons in the wonton soup have very little meat in them so I wouldn't order it again. Friendly service.
