Ordered shrimp fried rice, some egg rolls, and two orders of black pepper shrimp. The egg rolls are ice cold, and the shrimp fried rice only has four shrimp. I called to ask to speak to the manager, was told they weren't there and next time they will make sure the egg rolls are hot. No mention about the shrimp fried rice. We were told that there were "new" managers, thus new cooks (yea...definitely not chefs). I have to admit it is better than the slime they use to serve. First, the attitude. Geez. What's going on with you? I don't know. Try to give people business and they act like you are bugging them. Then, the nasty Sesame Chicken was so dense, dry and just plain gross. I would never go there again. Tried it ---hated it -- didn't feel welcomed. Forget you! Much Much Much better places everywhere else. In fact, I'd drive into town before going back to this hole. Our whole meal cost over $90, and it was not worth the money I will never go back there does all of the food tasted like they fried it all in the same oil so basically it taste like fried egg rolls every dish I called for them to reimburse me and I will bring the food back and whomever I spoke to said that they can't do that! On my way to the mountains I found this restaurant, conveniently close to the only brewery in the area so of course I was going to give it a try. My first impression was that this food is legit, as authentic as it gets, maybe my mistake was to order the one item on the menu that is not chinese.... I had the pad thai with shrimp and beef, the perfect amount of spice for my latin palate but I've tried many pad thais before and I can't say it was great. I also tried a soup which was pretty good and enough to share. Next time I would ask for the staff suggestion. read more

I am super impressed!! We stopped in Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, during what we would have thought would be a slow time. However, there were several other customers inside as well as several calling in and picking up food. We got takeout to bring home, but would have been just as comfortable dining in. We did have a little bit of a wait (less than 20 minutes), & it was soooo worth it! Plus, the friendly gentleman working the front brought us waters unbidden when we decided to take a seat outside on their patio to wait. We ordered the scallion pancake and homestyle tofu to split at home. Everything was still hot and fresh when we got home (about 15 minutes away) and the veggies were crisp and not over-done, there was a good tofu-to-veggie ration, great homestyle brown sauce, and the tofu WAS NOT soggy! I repeat, NO soggy tofu here!!! Huzzah!!!! So many times I have ordered Chinese or Asian takeout and get tofu, I get sad, sloppy, semi-slimy and badly fried tofu. This includes up and coming, all the rage, hipster(translate=expensive) places with vegan options. This was not the case with China Village! The tofu triangles were fried nicely and still firm with great texture. Plus, we only spent about $14 on a huge portion of food that was more than enough to satisfy both of us for lunch. My one and only constructive critique would be the scallion pancakes; and disclaimer, I have been spoiled with really good Korean-style scallion pancakes, and these were not that. They were more bread-y than onion-y and while they were tasty, I personally prefer them with larger pieces of green onion and a bit more dough seasoning, with the traditional chili soy sauce dip that is common for Korean restaurants - but again, this is not a Korean restaurant, and I ate them happily. If you're passing through the area and need some good food, look no further! read more

We are new to the area and we decided to give this a try. I read all the reviews and figured it was safe to go. We got sat right away. The owner was very courteous, friendly, and patient with us. Food was pretty good. We would go back again. My only complaint was I got water to drink but it had a lemon flavor to it. And I don't like lemon flavored water. We have a vacation home in Bailey, and checked out the food at China Village. We read great reviews, so gave it a go. It was takeout only, due to COVID. It was very good! Big portions, plus rice. Family owned and operated. We only got a peek of the dining area, but it looked clean and comfortable. We will return for sure. very small chinese place in the middle of town. went in on a saturday morning with a bunch of family (12) of us. The owner seemed quite shocked to see us there during lunch but she still tried her best to cater to us, which was appreciated. We went here for lunch last Saturday, September 28, 2019. The service was very good... Quick and accurate. The food was very good as well. My husband had the shrimp pad Thai and was pleasantly shocked at how delicious it was. He didn't expect much from a small town in the mountains. I had the chicken skewers and a bowl of wonton soup. They were both very good. The atmosphere was nice as well. Lovely stained wood trim. The women's room was clean and functional. Could use some updating though. read more
