    Beef Lo Mein

Small restaurant with huge flavor and portions. We ordered the sweet sour combination, chicken lo mein, beef lo mein and vegetable fried rice. Oh we also had wonton soup and egg rolls. Everything was amazing. Fresh and hot. The sweet sour was not over powering. The lo mein dishes had just the right amount of sauce which tasted great. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening cool weather. The service was very friendly and quick.

Came on a Sunday. It was DEFINITELY a whole in the wall Chinese eatery. Accessibility- it's a big uneven parking lot. No designated handicap spaces but plenty of space for wheelchair. Service-it's a really small restaurant so seating is tight. Food- we ordered the House Special Mai Fen and General Tao's Chicken. I'm sorry but I'm not sure how people had rated this place 4 stars. The noodles were soppy and over-salted, not much wok heat. The beef in the noodles were tough and hard to chew. General chicken was just average. Return Factor- No

Update November 2023: This place could definitely use a facelift. However, it is the best Chinese food I have had since living in Colorado....it's not great but decent for Colorado. I wish when you ask and pay for "extra" whatever....they give you extra. I feel like there is a quick charge for "extra" but not really getting that additional that you ask for. The egg rolls are the best thing followed by the wonton soup. Prices are not too bad for the area and time- everything is expensive now.

I'm not sure if there was a communication breakdown or if I got what I ordered, so I'll hedge. I ordered fried rice with egg, and I expected rice with an extra some vegetables and some ribbons of scrambled egg. However, when I got it was essentially just a container of rice. It wasn't anything else in it. I won't complain too much, though - I got about 10 ounces of rice for two dollars or so. The police does seem popular enough. When I arrived to do a take out order, half of the tables were full, and there were two or three people in line in front of me. It seems then that their other dishes are more flavorful than what I ended up with.

Great food and great service. Generous portions. The atmosphere is not the best however they make up for it in service and quality. Price was really good.

This place makes the best Chinese food I have ever had in MY ENTIRE LIFE!! Seriously, I've eaten a lot of takeout, this place takes the trophy EASY. Even my mom agrees, and she's kind of a stickler, especially when it comes to Sweet and Sour sauce. This place has some good sauce! I'd recommend everyone go here, you will not regret it!! The service is also phenomenal. Everyone in my group got a different plate and every one of us was surprised at how amazing the food was! I'm sad I'm from out of state or else this place would be my weekly spot. Edit to add: I wrote this review in the parking lot because that's how amazed by this place I was, and the owner ran out and brought me my to-go box that I forgot at the table. Just when I thought this place couldn't get any better! Considering moving here so I can experience this amazing place over and over...

Best Chinese food in the area! We like to drive over here whenever we visit Colorado Springs. Yesterday we went to the Incline at Manitou Springs and came by after. We had the Fried Cheese Wontons, Pan Fried Dumplings, Hot and Sour Soup, Sesame Chicken, and Combination Lo Mein. Everything was delicious especially the wontons, dumplings and shrimp in the Lo Mein. The wonton skin was thick and crispy, not thin like I've had at other places, and there was plenty of crab cheese filling inside each. I like that the soup has meat in it, which sets it apart from other Chinese restaurants. The employees here are very friendly and attentive. Also what is really cool is there is a drive thru which is the first I've seen. Highly recommend Fortune Dragon!

Food is too salty and oily, service was poor (even though I could tell my server was trying), and I got indigestion.

**Ambiance** The…read morerestaurant itself is a decent size with plenty of seating and large booths, so it would be comfortable for families or larger groups. **Service** Service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The staff spoke English as well as either Cantonese or Mandarin, which initially gave me high hopes for the food. **Food** I won't lie--I came in with pretty moderate expectations. After chatting with the staff in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I thought we were in for a really authentic meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We ordered five dishes, and it quickly became apparent that the food is heavily catered toward American tastes. Several dishes contained ingredients that traditionally wouldn't be included, while other key ingredients were missing altogether. The biggest issue for me was the sweetness. Three of the five dishes were noticeably sweet, which isn't what I expected from the dishes we ordered. The standout dish of the meal was the Mongolian Beef. It was flavorful and wasn't overly sweet. That said, it lacked the spice I typically associate with the dish. The Mapo Tofu was probably the biggest surprise. It was missing the ground pork that usually gives the dish so much flavor and texture. Instead, it included bell peppers, onions, and water chestnuts--ingredients I've personally never seen in Mapo Tofu. Rather than being spicy and numbing, the dominant flavor was sweetness. The Chicken Pan-Fried Noodles were difficult to enjoy. The sauce was very sweet, and the noodles were cooked to the point where they were tough and chewy. Instead of the thinner noodles commonly used for this dish, they used thick noodles that reminded me more of lo mein. We also ordered a Beef and Scallion dish. It felt more like a beef chop suey variation with scallions added. The scallions themselves were cooked perfectly, but once again the sauce leaned much sweeter than expected. The Hot and Sour Soup was actually the first item to arrive. I jokingly told my family that if the soup wasn't good, I might be worried about the rest of the meal because hot and sour soup is one of those dishes that really showcases balance and technique. Unfortunately, it ended up confirming my concerns. It lacked the bold sour and spicy flavors that make the dish so enjoyable. By the end of the meal, we had a lot of leftovers. The only items we brought home were the Mongolian Beef and a few pieces of beef picked out from the Beef and Scallion dish. **Overall** This restaurant may appeal to diners who enjoy sweeter, Americanized Chinese food, but it wasn't for me. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't personally recommend it to anyone looking for the flavors and dishes I grew up eating.

We ordered the appetizer platter and it had 2 of each of an array of apps, fried wontons, truly homemade eggrolls, crab Rangoon and chicken kebabs and beef on a stick. With an array of sauces too. We also got wonderfully tasting jasmine tea and she brought two cups for us to both have the teapot. For entrees we shared the phenomenal orange chicken. It came with orange peel cooked into it and a side of peeled fresh orange which was so delicious to cut off and add to a bite. The chicken was such nice quality white meat and very fresh and super crispy. The orange sauce was perfectly sweet and savory and lightly orange-y. I'd definitely get it again. We also had kung pao beef and the beef quality was also very fresh, and tender but perfectly cooked and it was not like 90% of Chinese places that soft but chewy beef so common to find. Because of that I must must must go back and try the orange beef. The sauce flavor was deep, rich and a little spicy, just as hoped. As I was eating I told my partner, I think this is the best American style Chinese food I've ever had in Colorado and that's true. Rivals anything in NY or San Fran. Everything was perfect and every detail was pleasant. 10/10 highly recommended and will be back to bring friends. It's a gorgeous drive to a wonderful little restaurant.
