Five years ago I went to Chinese consulate office in person for my husband and my visa. Line was long to get in, then you pick a number, than you wait more. If you miss any documents, guess what, you go home, gather everything, come back, start all over again... After they process your application, you come back again to pick it up. In summary, unless you are a very patient person and prepares everything perfectly, you probably don't want to do it. With CVSC, everything is made easy. Of course you pay a fee for it. But they will review your application before submitting. They will serve as intermediary if the Chinese consulate office is requesting additional documents, all you need to do is emailing them the missing file and they will take care of the rest. After visa is approved, they mail to you. I just want to say, it's AMAZING. No more wait in line, no more back and forth due to missing documents. I wish I discovered them earlier! read more

I went with this company based on the reviews even though the parent company CIBT has horrible reviews. I went online to mychinavisa, paid the fee, and started the application. The online form is not the same as the one from the Chinese embassy and it did not allow me to put in the correct information. As the process for applying for the visa myself through the embassy was straight forward, I ended up going myself, had no issues, and got it done in one trip with barely a wait. I cancelled the CVSC application and had to request for a refund through phone. I had paid $325 to CVSC. They would not refund the full amount and kept $165 as a service fee just because I clicked start on the online form. read more

I needed a Chinese visa within about a week and found CVSC through Yelp. They deserve the high rating. I was out of town and had to FedEx in my passport and application (nervewracking ) but they quickly answered my questions about how to fill out the application (yes! Answered phone calls and had answers!) and as soon as it got to them, they were in touch. I paid something over $300 including rush fee. The only thing I would question is that I paid to have my application filled out, but they asked me to fill it out? So that's $20 or $30 that I am not sure about. Don't select this option online as I don't think it exists. Still, I applied for the ten year visa so over time it's worth it! I am one month into the process and paid for premium service. So far this is the worst service I have experienced since covid. I have been handed off to different caseworkers, who do not communicate. It is impossible to contact anyone in the company for help. My trip is scheduled for 3 weeks and I am worried. This is not the way to do business. The representatives must be doing this as a side job because they are always apologizing for not getting anything done. She answered every question I had about the process and also let me know that it was too early to apply since visas are only being processed for travel less than 90 days in the future. Was my first time applying for a visa to China and was very nervous as I had heard many horror stories from friends and colleagues about the application process through the consulate (I live in NYC). Thankfully, a friend recommended CVSC and they were SO easy to work with! They ship and mail but I went in to drop off and pick up in person and the rep even helped me make sure I had all the forms set right. She spoke so fast, I couldn't understand her. She then asked me why I was being so rude and hung up. I called back, the same woman picked up. I asked her why she hung up on me. She said she was a different agent but she was just as rude as the first one. I guess, for my New York visa work, I'll find a different agency. read more

After waiting 20 minutes for the M42 and watching the traffic slowly crawl across 42nd street during midday traffic, I knew there was no way I was going to make it to the Chinese Consulate way out on 12th Ave aka Pluto (let alone get through security and the long line to hand in my visa app- and probably get turned away because of some i I forgot to dot) during my lunch hour. Thank god for CVSC. These guys are efficient professionals who work at a lightning speed. I dropped by their conveniently located midtown office without an appointment and Kayllen quickly went through my materials (for both me and my mom) in less than 10 minutes. As expected, I was missing some information (and probably would've been turned away at the Consulate-- good thing I didn't go!) and Kayllen was able to tell me exactly what else I needed to get my tourist visa. She even provided me with a sample invitation letter (only needed for those who want a 2 year multi-entry tourist visa and have relatives in China) and pointed me to the CVSC website which contained a very clear itemized list of materials that need to be provided to the Consulate. CVSC's website was/is very impressive- it's far more thorough and easy to read than the Chinese Consulate's website. I went back to my office, e-mailed Kayllen the missing information and by the next morning, I received an e-mail from CVSC stating that our passports and visa apps had been submitted to the Consulate. The Chinese work QUICK! In less than a week, I received a call from Kayllen saying our passports (with the 2 year multi-entry visas-- which btw, most other tourist visa places won't bother to allow you to apply for even though it's the same price as a one year visa because they want you to apply every year and exploit you!) were ready. And just like that-- we had our visas in hand with no headache whatsoever. I also want to add- I called the CVSC customer service number twice-- and on both occasions had very pleasant, frustration-free exchanges. No wait time. No BS. Final note, CVSC's price can't be beat. Regular (unexpedited) service is $50 plus the $140 Consulate visa fee. Not sure why a place like CIBT (with apparently far worse service) is charging twice the amount. There's also currently a special for Yelpers-- if you call in, they'll knock an extra ten bucks off. Best forty bucks I've spent in a long while! read more

I came across CVSC mostly due to my own laziness - I've applied for several Chinese visas in the past, but having just moved to NYC, I wasn't ready to go the consulate on my own and was a little unsure of my paperwork. The horror stories of hours spent in line only to be turned away for missing something in my forms... I wanted no part in that. Prior to coming here, it may be helpful to visit CVSC's website. I found it extremely clear and straightforward, with all the necessary forms laid out step-by-step and even examples of completed forms provided. To reach the office, use the main entrance to the right of the Hard Rock Cafe, show your ID to the security desk, and proceed to the 12th floor. CVSC's business hours read 9 AM - 5 PM and I had several errands to run on a particular weekday, so I decided to show up around 9:15 AM. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the receptionist told me that Kayllen wouldn't be in til 10 AM - not a huge deal, but if you are super pressed for time, maybe call to confirm someone will be immediately available. To be fair, they offered to pass on my paperwork and passport to Kayllen, but I wasn't comfortable giving these documents randomly. Once she arrived, Kayllen went through my documents with true New Yorker efficiency - take that how you will, it may be great for some and come off rude/dismissive to others. For me, it meant that I was out the door in 10 minutes which was fine by me. I was quoted about 3-5 business days due to the 4th of July holiday. The service set me back $99 + $140 for the consulate fee + a convenience fee for using my CC to pay (so maybe bring cash). Prepare to pay more if you are using the online service and need shipping, or if you need expedited service. Received a call 4 business days later that my visa was ready for pick-up. Since my bf works nearby, he was able to pick it up for me with no hassle. For $99, the service is a little pricey, but then again that's the cost of convenience. And, since I applied for the 10-year visa, it averages out to a pretty reasonable amount to pay as I won't have to do this again for a decade. If you are nervous about the visa application process, save yourself the grey hairs and use CVSC. Painless and quick! read more

Service is ok. A Chinese visa itself these days costs about $199 dollars, and if you do it through China Visa services, they charge an extra $150 approx, bringing your total to a little under $400. They are professional enough, but honestly, I'm not sure the price is worth it. It's pretty easy to get your own Chiense visa, provided you are willing to stand in line at the consulate for about an hour. read more

China, all we want to do is fall into your arms and blow a bunch of cash at casinos and revolving rooftop restaurants. Why you gotta make it so hard? I'm not going to recap the whole thing. Suffice it to say, the Chinese consulate was very interested in our desire to visit their country, to travel by overnight trains instead of flights, to make up our itinerary as we go. Easy process to obtain visas to China without needing to go to the embassy. They provide great customer service and are able to answer any questions you may have. They also review your documents before processing as well so they will let you know if you need to include something else. This is the second time I've gone to CVSC in an emergency situation. The first time, I was in Seoul and needed a Chinese visa in basically two days. I submitted an application to CVSC for a family visit visa, and even though I did not actually end up using them, I wanted to write a review to compliment them on their customer service. After applying online and paying the fee, I went in person to drop off my materials. Because my employer is an NGO, they let me know that I would have to go in person to the consulate to present my visa application, and let me know what additional document I would need to provide (a letter from my employer attesting that the trip was unrelated to my work). Melany immediately offered the option between a partial refund--if I still wanted them to go pick up my passport from the consulate--or a full refund, if I decided I didn't want to use their service. I was unsure what to do and she assured me I could decide later. I ended up deciding to request a full refund, and it was processed within a day. Melany followed up by phone to close the loop and all in all, even though I ended up doing the process by myself, I'd happily recommend this service. read more

A timeline of my experience... one month out from trip, panicking because the China visa process seems cumbersome and tedious. Do some research, decide to go with a visa service despite the extra $$. Saturday: submit my application online and mail out. **Opt not to pay for overnight shipping label ($35), which would put it there Tuesday am. Instead paid $8 for it to guarantee be there Wednesday (it ultimately ended up getting there Tuesday am)** Tuesday: CVSC received my documentation and Melany noticed a discrepancy in my itinerary. Resolved through email Wednesday night. Following Monday: received fedex tracking number from Kayllen with estimated delivery for next day. Next day (Tuesday): passport with visa back in my hands! Overall, 10 day turnaround and I did not pay for any rushes. These people have what to us is a very complicated process, down to a science. I wouldn't have done it any other way looking back. Out of all the visa service centers I called, CVSC was by far the best. They were friendly, polite and helpful with answering all of my questions (and I had a lot of questions!). The process was extremely simple through them and their website is very easy to understand and up to date. I like that they don't offer visas for dozens of countries and focus on a select few - it's impossible to be a master of everything and I feel like they take the time to really learn a small number of countries policies in-depth. We sent our passports from Ohio to NY and had them back in 8 days! They were communicative about the process and let us know when our passports arrived, when they were taking them to the consulate, and when they were sending them back. My only disappointment is they are slightly ($20-30) more expensive than any of the other visa service centers I looked at out of nearly a dozen. read more

Worth every dime! Living in the Midwest, there are no options for obtaining a visa to China without actually flying to NY and visiting the consulate yourself. The visa process required by the Chinese government is long and tedious already, but China Visa Service Center made it worry free. They lay out everything you need to send to them in black and white and even with examples so it leaves little room for error. They kept me updated on the process without me needing to contact them and sent me my passport back soon after they notified me that my application was approved. Their fee is a little pricey but not nearly as pricey (nor convenient) as flying to NY yourself to do it. I highly recommend using CVSC for your visa needs! read more

Was planning travel to Hong Kong for work (which does not require a visa) and decided to spend some time with colleagues in Beijing while in the region (which DOES require a visa). On the Friday before my planned Thursday departure (!!) I sent my documents (with great anxiety) to CVSC. Received a confirmation call on Monday that they received my materials, but was informed that the 24 hour rush service was no longer available. I, naturally, panicked! But they calmly explained that I could get it back on Friday! But, no..I protested...I have to leave on Thursday. Again, calmly, I was told that I could have it on Thursday if I could have someone retrieve it either from the office, or I could meet them at the Consulate. There were a few tense moments when I couldn't reach the office on Wednesday, but Kobie later called to let me know that she had been in a meeting, and that all was set. Thursday morning, a brilliant handoff at the corner of 12th Ave and 42nd Street at precisely 10:30 AM as scheduled, and I, passport in hand, dashed straight to the airport. I just had a great experience with CVSC. The staff really understands the entire visa application process, and they are very responsive to inquiries. I needed a rush job on my visa and to further frustrate me, I was having trouble filling out the pdf application form on my laptop. The CVSC staff told me not to worry and to just fill it out by hand and send everything to them. They took it from there, typed it all up for me, asked me for a document I had forgot to send, and now only three days later my passport is on its way back to my via FedEx. I had the pleasure of working with Anthony Varner over the past 3 days. Anthony works for CVSC in Houston and he has amazing people skills. Like most execs I have the luxury of delegating most detailed tasks but when it came to adding pages to my passport and applying for a 10 year visa there was nobody to 'dump' that on! I was on my own. Fortunately, Anthony answered the phone when I called for help. I had utilized CVSC for my 1 year visa in 2014 and have been on their mailing list. I travel outside of the USA 4-5 months per year every year and was excited to hear about a 10 year visa. I had purchased single entry visas at the Chinese embassy in Bangkok on a number of occasions (difficult even though I speak Thai) and was happy to get a 1 year visa from your company. A 10 year visa was even better but just like when I got my 5 year visa to India the forms to fill out were expansive. It's too embarrassing to list the exact number of times I called Anthony for help getting my paperwork (10 year visa and adding pages to passport) but rest assure you couldn't do it on 'one' hand.
