Best chow fun I've had so far in MA. I'm originally from Hawaii, so finding the best chow fun has become a thing for me. This wasn't on their menu, but I asked out of habit and they had it. China Wok has excellent food but it is for take out and there is no lobby, just a counter to place your order. I have been going here for years and fortunately I am within delivery range so always get delivery witch is always on time and always with a friendly greeting. The food just keeps getting better, fried rice, egg foo young, scallion pancakes, boneless spareribs, crab rangoon etc...I could list the whole menu but just saying the food has been awesome for over a year, no matter what we order and I highly recommend this establishment. read more

For years I was always under the impression that this was Beverly's worst Chinese food restaurant. The lobby is dingy and outdated blah blah blah. Well I was wrong. Horrible place I order beef fried rice and ribs. sat down in the back there was what it sounded like a fight. yelling and screaming from the top of their lungs. I wanted to just run away from there. very unprofessional. my food took took for ever because they focus on arguing and screaming. at the end the rice was under cook and the meat was hard. this was a horrible experience. This old standby rivals some of the more upscale establishments preparing Chinese-American cuisine. I have been eating here on and off for about 5 years. The prices just increased, but here are my favorites: Shrimp and veg (xtra garlic), steamed chicken and shrimp with vegetables, beef teriyaki, spare ribs, scallion pancakes, Singapore rice noodles, house soup. I love that they have various sauces for the steamed dishes (white, brown, general gau). They are fast, clean and never have had any problems with their food either takeout or delivery. I ordered for the first time from here and my husband and I got two crispy chow mein dishes. What we got was 2 tubs of gravy/vegetables and a tiny satchel of fried wonton skins!!! When in the world did chow mein mean fried wonton skins and not noodles??? I am Chinese and this just blows me away. I even called and told them we had no noodles and they came back and brought more crispy wonton skins, so there was clearly no mistake. I will not be ordering from here again. read more

I haven't been to China Wok in a while, thanks to the global shut-down. However, I'm happy to say that it was a great experience when I visited last week. I'm not blowing smoke when I say their Gen. Tsao's Chicken was one of the best I've ever had. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, just as it should be. Additionally, the pork fried rice was excellent! Sometimes, at various establishments, it's starchy and stuck together, but not the (flavorful, moist) rice at China Wok. The servings, too, are more than substantial. Finally, the chef left her post behind the counter to hold the door for me when I left. This tiny spot is a home run. read more

This is a great take out place and they're always prompt when delivering. True, sometimes it may be cited as a longer time than you think is reasonable, but when that's the case I just get in my car and pick up- they don't care if I look like death in sweatpants. read more

Why is China Wok averaging 5 stars? Can someone tell me? It's your typical local chinese takeout that is greasy and dirty. One thing that's positive about this location is that I don't get sick after eating their food compared to joints like China Jade in Beverly. You know it's sad when I'm reviewing places on the terms of whether I get sick or not.... Please spend $5 more bucks and eat at Su Chang's in Peabody. You will not regret spending few more bucks on each dish. read more

The food was good. The owner had a very terrible argument with an employee in Chinese language. It made me and my friend not to go there anymore, because of our impressions that there would be arguments again with the owner and the employees. The owner should have apologized and he never did when he should have for courtesy. The owner is very rude and he had no right to have arguments in front of customers. Very awful. read more

I was severely disappointed with this Chinese food. The fried rice was dry and clumpy and the General Tso's chicken lacked any pizazz. These two things are pretty standard Chinese takeout fare, and since they were an epic fail, I'm not going to waste my money trying anything else here until I've tried every other Chinese restaurant in Beverly. read more

Consistent. Tasty. Cheap. Delivery Chinese is always a wild card. I've never had an issue with China Wok, which is more than you can usually ask for with these places. Fast delivery and reasonable prices (not to mention I haven't gotten sick here yet) makes this place my go to. read more

A-OK perfectly describes this take-out venue. Now, if I were back in New Jersey where fantastic Chinese food is around every corner, I would definitely drop this rating by a star or two. Alas, I am in Beverly, MA where as far as Chinese take-out is concerned, this is it folks! The food tastes pretty good in precisely the way that lets you know it is terribly bad for you. Food is pretty good here. It's our go-to for Americanized Chinese food. Good combo plates and the prices are reasonable. Only downside is delivery times are ridiculously long. We don't live too far away, but an hour wait is average. read more

Everyone in my family loves this place. It's always good! Not much in the way of seating. Only like two or three small booths.
