    Snow mountain maki

I can't believe I walked around this earth for 34 years and have never tried Gourmet Gardens. When I made my red carpet entrance, I was greeted immediately. The lady said "We've been waiting for you" I was confused. Especially with all the cameras flashing. As stunned and confused as I was and smiling away, I realized I was day dreaming and had to come back to reality. "Table for two please" Our waiter was nice. Sat us down and 2 seconds later comes back and asks us if we wanted something to drink. In my head I'm like Ummm I already know what type of night this was going to turn out to be smh. I said "you know why I'm here" Marshawn Lynch's voice The mais tais I got was unbelievably good. It was PERFECT. Taste like juice but strong as well. They were so lucky I had only two. I wanted to make a somewhat good impression considering it was my first time there. Didn't want to leave stumbling and possibly embarrassing myself. :] JK it was really really GOOD. The rainbow maki was like they just reeled the fish in and cut it up, rolled it and served it, that's how fresh it was. The snow mountain maki was like food porn. FUCKING AMAZING. That was the highlight of the night. That blew my socks off, and blew it out of this world to never be found. I really need to get out more. Haha See you soon mai tais. ;)

Gourmet Garden is hands down our favorite establishment in the area. We have visited hibachi restaurants up and down the East Coast, from Vermont to Florida, and 4 different locations in the Salem/Swampscott/Danvers area, and nobody does hibachi like Gourmet Garden. Good Hibachi is easy to come by, Vermont, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida have proved that. Great Hibachi is something above and beyond anything you have experienced before. It's the trifecta of service, flavor and entertainment. Gourmet Garden has consistently provided all three. No matter what night of the week, make a reservation with them for hibachi, you won't be disappointed. I also want to say a special thank you to Manager Lin. You and your fellow manager have much to be proud of. It's no wonder you have been there for 20 years and counting. As long as you continue to focus on your customer, people will continue to come.

What you expect in an American Chinese Food restaurant. All the classics done well but nothing unique or unusual either.

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. Utter garbage served up. To the owners, please put this place down.

Ask the Community - Gourmet Garden

How many people can I bring to a hibachi dinner and how much is it per person?

You can bring as many people as you want, they have multiple tables. I want to say each table fits 8 or 9 people. Its $20-25 per person depending on which meat you choose

Half our family wants sushi and other half wants hibachi entertainment, can we get both?

Yes! You can sit at the hibachi table but don't have to order hibachi if you want something else.

Everyone says it has gone downhill, but I cannot compare, and we liked our experience. Maybe they are working on improving. Service was friendly. We shared the chicken fingers, moo shi, chicken with asparagus, and chow mein. My dad had a hot and sour soup, and him and I shared a Fog Cutter. We both liked the drink. The chicken fingers were hot and delicious, and my dad, who never likes them, was a fan. I do not normally eat moo shi or chow mein and thought both were good here. The chicken with asparagus was tasty, though personal preference is for thinner stalks. Our cocktail was strong. It was quiet inside, though we visited a bit later in the evening. I hope they continue to do well, as they have been a Salem mainstay forever. I am looking forward to returning.
