We ordered take-out for pick up when we got home discovered burnt Peking ravioli. Inedible and dry. It's not like you can't see how burnt they are just by looking at them. Yet they still packaged them and sent them home with us. We messaged the restaurant on two separate occasions requesting a refund for the inedible product giving them the opportunity to make it right... but we were ignored both times. It's so easy to send inferior products in takeout because you can't send them back as you could when you dine in. Two weeks prior we ordered takeout and the bone-in ribs were over-cooked and dried out and simply should not have been served at this point. We're done with takeout from this restaurant they cannot be trusted to send good food. read more

We had their pork egg foo yong with fried rice and beef teriyaki, and two dinners of their shrimp and lobster sauce, which had generous amounts of large shrimp, (not the tiny shrimp some establishments put in their lobster sauce), including sides of rice and egg rolls. Everything was absolutely fabulous! The portions are very generous, and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We also opted for the convenience of delivery and our driver was very friendly and cordial, and deliver our food while it was still hot!. Came in with optimism and ended up disappointed. Ribs, both boneless and on the bone sucked- burned, not charred. Raviolis and beef fried rice had so-so flavor. I haven't been here for a long time due to past unsatisfying experiences, but recently tried their vegetable lo mein to give them another chance. I really like their vegetable Lo Mein, it could have more vegetables but the small is a great portion and it tastes delicious. It is extremely oily though, so I do wish there was less oil + more veggies. Wasn't the biggest fan of their Crab Rangoon and wouldn't order it again. Run from this place, service is horrible. The woman that answers the phone to take the orders is ignorant and rude. They got a delivery order wrong, and then fought with us that we told them the wrong item and then wanted me to pay or come and get the food when I had already paid for delivery, the woman that answered the phone kept telling me that I was wrong. A great small town Chinese restaurant that is always really really good. Sometimes the crowd at the bar can be a little different but overall it definitely is worth the trip. The prices here are very affordable and are easily able to be adjusted without any problems from the staff. The drinks are also very tasty not the best but they are also very inexpensive. read more

My wife and I have been eating from this restaurant for approximately seven years and it was always excellent food but for the past six months it's been subpar we ordered food two days ago and the spare ribs on the bone were over cooked and dry as a bone the pork fried rice was dark and tasted horrible like it was sitting for hours the sesame beef was like rubber. Depending on the driver they don't ring my bell in my apartment I have to go down to them to receive my order which is very annoying because some of the drivers that they have a lazy and I always tipped them an extra two dollars plus the delivery charge so needless to say we are not gonna order food from this restaurant anymore read more

So used to LOVE this place, but ordered food last night , went to eat it today and found three large pieces of metal in my food . Was not going to write a review but when I called to inform them that it happened, they responded with " should have called earlier". I then told the man I was speaking to that I wasn't excepting a refund or anything but I just wanted them to be aware. Not once did they apologize, all they were able to say is that I could try tomorrow to talk to the owner. I left my number told them to call me and that I shouldn't have to chase anyone down just to make them aware that this happened. After getting take out from here a couple of times previously, each meal wasn't quite bad but also wasn't fantastic either. But this last time I had ordered pork fried rice and steamed vegetables (d12) and my girlfriend ordered pork fried rice with orange chicken, the food was so bad we both made the decision not to come back. The pork pieces had the consistency and taste of jerky, the rice wasn't good, and the vegetables were mushy with an unappetizing and watery sauce. My girlfriend's orange chicken was also barely edible. Everything that you wouldn't want a crab rangoon to be, chewy where the edges should be crunchy, were bad. We ended up just throwing most of it out and we ate frozen dinners instead. What a disappointment. I would recommend to avoid this place. read more

Surprised at a couple other reviews. For example, one said, "pricey...", but it's really not. I've had a lot of Chinese food in my life and this is normal-priced. You can get the dinners plates for around $9.50 and lunch plates are like $7.50. They come with generous portions and the food is fresh and clean. The dining room is smaller than most I'm used to but it's always adequate and the waitstaff is SUPER friendly and attentive. There's a very well-stocked bar that is frequented by a fair number of friendly, mid-class locals who like their drinks and sports games but it's not at all a pubby atmosphere. It's just drinks, TV and the occasional friendly convo. The bar has it's own entrance so bar people aren't traipsing back and forth through the dinning area. Overall, the place is clean. The food is fresh. The staff is friendly. And, the price is right. What more could you want? read more

Ordered the orange beef, take out. The meal arrived promptly. Instead of crispy beef, what was delivered was more like orange rubber meat. I had a few bites and simply couldn't stomach the consistency. Upon further inspection there seemed to be a worm like tube sticking out of the "meat" which was rather off putting. The "lo mein" turned out to be overly Greasy flat egg noodle without a discernible taste other than oil. Bottom line, waste of $17. The chicken teriyaki wasn't bad, nor were the dumps. I never thought i would give any "jades" over 2-3 stars after China Jade in Beverly (please read my review if u wanna know the reasons) until I met Beverly Jade. It opens late which is so MONEY when u just wanna eat late night, chill with friends and get fat. Their chef use to work in Hong Kong and Chinatown in Boston before moving up to Beverly Jade 4 years ago---solid credentials--(hope that helps in providing the extra push the get ur butt here to try Beverly Jade). It's no Su Chang's. But I gotta admit, for a small joint in the middle of crappy Beverly, I'm surprised. Fried rice was amazing. Crispy orange beef had a bit too much sauce but overall pretty good. Their dishes were less greasier than many of the chinese joints i've experienced. All of their dishes were about $7 and it came with an appetizer of your choice, fried rice and a main dish. Beverly Jade's cheap price, cleanliness and friendly servers all contribute in pushing 3.65 is rating to a 4 star on yelp (it could easily be 3 stars). read more

Extremely disappointing. Just ordered the chicken rice soup, sweet and sour chicken, and special fried rice. None of them were good. Sweet and sour chicken was okay at best, but the soup and rice were just plain bad. Less than ten minutes after putting in my order I got a call that it was on the way, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised since they likely just reheated old food. Couldn't even bring myself to finish it, so just lost the money. Should've chosen pizza instead. Will definitely be ordering from here again. I suggest you don't either. read more

I think this is *the best* Chinese restaraunt in Beverly!! (I've only been to four, though). Fast service, friendly staff, reasonable prices and ... terrific food! I love this place, we eat here for lunch a couple times a month (one co-worker eats here 2-3 times a week) he loves the Pork Fried Rice Boneless Spare-Ribs and General Gau's; not to mention the well made drinks rum and coke! Beverly Jade is fairly new to town. It has been around for just over a year now. I went there the first week it opened and was highly impressed with the cleanliness, friendly stay and crispy chicken fingers/rangoons and the freshness of the lo-mein. In my opinion it's the best Chinese place in Beverly. Possibly in the surrounding towns but certainly it's no PF Chang's. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food but this one is worth a try. read more

Beverly Jade is probably the best Chinese food you'll find in Beverly. Okay, so I am not the biggest fan of American Chinese food - greasy, seemingly previously-frozen and heated in a microwave. But, Beverly Jade's food keeps getting better and better. I've had several things there - the pork moo shi, fried rice, steamed dumplings - and everything tastes really fresh and good. Honestly. The dining room is very clean and the service is always attentive. I've never had an empty water cup or tea pot. The staff is very friendly, and they will pretty much do anything. I've also had a few cocktails there, and they all seemed well-mixed. If, and this is a big if, I ever crave Chinese, I'm going to Beverly Jade. Also, do not get this restaurant confused with China Jade (in North Beverly). They are very different restaurants. read more

This relatively new restaurant on Rantoul Street in downtown Beverly is definitely the best Chinese I've had in Beverly. I've had takeout from there several times and each time the food has been fast, hot, and exactly as ordered. Highlights include the steamed dumplings (so good!) and excellent chicken fingers. The General Tso's chicken, and the fried crispy noodle dish were also very good. As I said, I've only had takeout, but the dining room is very attractive and clean, and the opposite side of the restaurant has a nice looking bar, as well as 1 or 2 high def TVs. When I lived in Quincy, the take-out big three (Chinese, Mexican, pizza) was simple: Great Chow, La Paloma, Alumni Cafe. Slam slam slam dunk dunk dunk. Since I moved to Beverly, I haven't been able to find a satisfactory replacement for any of the above--until now. Beverly Jade serves by far the best (Americanized) Chinese food in the Beverly area. It's not quite Great Chow (the house special lo mein, for example, suffers by comparison), but the meals are fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. The orange-flavored beef and chicken are excellent. Do not confuse Beverly Jade with China Jade. China Jade is in North Beverly near the highway and Beverly Jade is on Rantoul. First off, I was surprised at how clean and well kept the interior is. The place is split into 2 sections a bar and a seating area. The bar is full and well stocked. We did not partake in any drinks today and opted for the hot tea. The place was deserted except for 1 other person in the bar and the various take out patrons that streamed in and out. On Sunday they offer the Dinner Special menu all day. Prices range from $7 to $12. I ordered Cashew Chicken with fried rice and Crab rangoon. My partner ordered Chicken Chow Mein with Fried Rice and an egg roll. First off the crab rangoon was not over cooked or overly oily. It wasn't particularly crabby but it was tasty. The egg roll was full of meat and cabbage spiced with 5 spice powder. The egg roll was wonderful and looked and tasted as though they roll them there. Score 2 points for that. The fried rice was good but not great. It also was not overly greasy. It contained just enough pork to make me happy. My cashew chicken was good, well cooked though a bit on the salty side. My partner's chow mein was VERY good. The vegetables tasted as though they had been freshly prepared and sauted just moments before. It was not overly sweet or salty. The staff was very friendly and nice. I appreciated that they were not overly attentive but as soon as we were done eating they noticed and asked if we wanted anything else or wanted to take anything home. I much prefer the hands off approach to the overbearing waitstaff. It's clear that this is a family establishment. The kid who greated us was doing home work behind the counter and looked enough like the waitress that I assume she was his mother. It looks as though they do a strong take out business, in the 45 minutes we were in there I saw more than a dozen customer come in and pick up large orders. The food is Americanized Chinese but it's very well prepared, the place is beyond clean and the staff is friendly. What more can you ask for in Americanized Chinese food? It's almost a shame this place is tucked away on Rantoul Street across from several crappy bars. This place is 900 times better than China Buffet on Cabot St. Given the location and the riff raff hanging around Rantoul I'm not sure I'd want to walk here if I had a late night craving. read more

Best Chinese in Beverly, hands down. And I have actually tried them all. The real problem is, it is the only half way decent Chinese in Beverly. Every other place is terrible. The prices are a bit higher than most take out places, but the quality is far superior to what you'll get in this area. The steamed dumplings are great, definitely not frozen or pre-made. The chicken and broccoli had lots of flavor and wasn't too greasy. Sweet and Sour Shrimp was great as well. Bar area is very nice, lots of TV's, seated dining area seemed very nice as well. I'm on a mission to find the best tasting crab rangoons, and I hate the crunch of onions, so it's been a challenge so far. one thing that really turned me off was when you opened the door, there was a stench in the vestibule. Maybe like stale smoke and another scent that I couldn't identify. Once I opened the door to the dining room, the smell was gone and the looks of the dining room surprised me. I thought it would be run down because of the first impression, but it was not bad from the looks of it. When I ordered over the phone, a male answered that had crystal clear english, Total relief! Will I return? Probably not considering Kiki's in salem has a better ambiance/first impression and better parking sitch. I have been here about half a million times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the drinks are delicious and the waitstaff couldn't get any friendlier. When I lived in Beverly I came here maybe once a week, either for dinner or just a few drinks with friends. Now that I live in Revere I still come to Beverly just to eat here when I want Chinese, just not as often due to the distance. Spicy wings are my favorite appetizer. They have a crisp skin and are topped with sauteed onion, jalapeno and garlic, mmm. I always get a dinner special since you get enough food for 2 meals (literally, I bag half and have it for dinner the next day) and they are all less than $10. For drinks I say regular Mai Tai or white Mai Tai, all the way. Scorpian bowls are good here too if you like those, but the Mai Tai's leave nothing to be desired. read more

I ordered the Shrimp with Veggies with spareribs on the side. First of all the spare ribs were under cooked. Then I noticed I only had 2 pieces of shrimp. 2 very small pieces surrounded by a boatload of veggies. I called over the waiter who then called over the manager who insisted he counted my plate before he served me. I don't know how that's possible They insisted I was wrong and then walked away from my table and formed a group discussing my missing shrimp. I'll never eat here again. read more

I am sorry to say that, in my opinion, Beverly Jade has gone seriously downhill since they first opened. It used to be when I ordered vegetable egg foo young or fried rice it was loaded with real vegetables - asparagus, broccoli, etc. Today, I got bean sprouts only (yawn). To make matters worse, they charged extra for vegetarian on the lunch special and they still had pork in the lo mein! Very disappointing. I doubt I will be returning again. Why is it so impossible to find decent Chinese (or pizza) around the North Shore? We seem to have an overabundance of both and they all serve the same low quality food. I would really love to find a few everyday restaurants that serve food that tastes better than a tv dinner. Unfortunately, Beverly Jade is not it. read more
