I had been waiting a long time to try this place! The restaurant is so clean and the ambiance is very chic. My critique, however, is that the taste and portion sizes of the food do not justify the ridiculousness of the price points. Paying almost $50 for four shrimp? Outrageous. We ordered the squid appetizer, shrimp gwin jin, orange chicken, sesame chicken, and lo mein. The only one of those dishes I would eat again is the shrimp but not for $47.

Been wanting to check out Rainbow Palace for years, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It's an upscale Chinese restaurant with excellent food and beautiful Art Deco decor, which I loved. The restaurant was packed and lively, but not so loud that it interrupted conversation. We started with the wonton soup and shrimp and lobster dumplings. The broth was incredibly flavorful and the wontons were perfectly tender. The dumplings were outstanding packed with lobster flavor and the wasabi-infused dipping sauce was so good we ended up using it on our entrees as well. For mains, we split the orange beef, Hunan chicken, and lo mein. The Hunan chicken was crispy yet tender, and the orange beef was full of flavor without being overly sweet. The lo mein uses thin noodles, which made it especially delicious. Service was exceptional and very attentive throughout the meal. Honestly, it's hard to pick a favorite dish because everything was so good. Ate the leftovers for lunch and it was still so good! Haha! Can't wait to come back

Make a reservation!! Parking can get tricky as there are other restaurants in the same area. This restaurant has been here for over 20+ years and has always been really good. Other than that, the place is elegant, and serves delicious Chinese food that is made with fresh ingredients. Not cheap for the type of food it is but very worth it! The sweet and sour chicken, one of the specials of the day when we went was outstanding: crunchy, but juicy, chunks of pineapple. Probably the best dish we tried that night! The drinks were reasonably priced and on the spot too! The mai tai was good and the espresso martini was really good. Service was friendly, prompt and courteous.

Rainbow Palace is a very pretty restaurant, that "happens" to serve Chinese food. I was seated in a cozy front room, newly renovated and decorated with a dark, cozy chinoiserie paper, large fixtures and glass wine case. While waiting for my party to arrive, I perused the wine menu. It was quite extensive. I think an oenophile would be quite happy with the selection offered. I had a Cotes du Rhone (Alain Jaume, $12) that I thoroughly enjoyed. The menu is adequately sized, but I would not say it was extensive. If you are looking for your favorite Sunday eve dish, you may not find it here, but you won't have a problem if you can pivot to another preparation. Dishes ordered at my table were a spring roll, a house special wonton soup (very flavorful) and lobster dumplings for appetizers. If I can be nit-picky, I'd suggest that they change the size of their dishes to smaller plates and bowls. The food looked puny on the large stark-white plates without a garnish, but all the flavors were spot on, so does it really matter? I actually think it does because you can tell that the owners take pride in the details of their establishment. For entree's, we ordered a spicy shrimp dish (4 jumbo, crisp shrimps came in the order), a Grand Marnier crispy beef (4 large pieces), a house fried rice with nuggets of char siu pork, tender baby shrimp, white meat chicken, egg and vegetables and a special of wok fried string beans which was by far the standout of our meal. After supper, we ordered some tea. It was somewhat weak in flavor but that could have been our fault; we did not let it steep long enough. The waiter came by with a tray of delicious-looking cakes to choose from but we declined. Every person that we encountered was nicer than the next. The waiters were knowledgeable and paced our meal well. Prices are not inexpensive, and reservations are definitely suggested. They do takeout as well.

We have been eating there over 18 years. The flavors are consistent which is why we go. Tonight was very disappointing. The pork was all fat and grizzly ! More onions than rice Have they change chefs??

One here with the family. Inside was ordinately designed. Beautiful murals, and nice plates. Service was solid, very attentive to the tables needs. Sesame, tasted very fresh and light for a dish in this style. Price was a little high for the quantity that I received, but thought that the experience was solid overall

Have been a few times and we have had a great experience. Overall I will say it's on the higher side on cost and food doesn't match the price tag. It's an easy $120 dinner without drinks. I'm not sure it's worth coming back

I was not disappointed with the flavor and strange combination of fried gyoza. So 1 pot shared with the table which is always nice with the food before and after eating. No complaints and the waiter was patient and helpful with our daughter as well.

I asked the server how long they have been open and he said 8 months but I see Yelp pics and reviews dating back at least 3 years. Someone must have told him the wrong information but no matter, we are just glad we finally found it. We went with the classic Shoyu Ramen with nishu beef and black garlic. I was over the moon when they touted a 12 hour chicken broth soup base. Every ramen shop I have tried to get ramen from has a pork based broth which I do not eat. I'm finally able to have ramen and boy it did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly al dente and had a satisfying chew with every bite. The broth was so flavorful with the bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and all the slow cooked fats and oil from the chicken broth and the nishu beef, which was tender, thinly sliced rib-eye meat, I suspect. All this topped off with a perfectly cooked soy marinated egg. What an amazing flavor combination. The takoyaki appetizer was also delicious. Biting into the crispy exterior, you are then met with a soft and tender interior filled with chunks of octopus. The balls sat atop Japanese mayo and was drizzled with delicious takoyaki sauce. All it was missing was the katsuobushi which would have elevated the takoyaki flavor. We also ordered the Mala Shrimp which was on the Chinese menu and did not come with rice. That had to be ordered separately. Food came out quick as we were the only patrons apart from another table outside and service was good until a large party sauntered in and the server became inundated with requests. All in all, we will definitely be back to try out other menu items.

It's in a different type of location -- a very small strip of businesses with only a few spots in front -- in the middle of a residential location. We were driving by between lunch and dinner and decided to stop to bring some food home for a later meal. When we stopped by, we got to meet the owners and chef. They were both very welcoming and friendly. He told us about some special meals and made suggestions. He was preparing some blue crabs for his own lunch, and they looked wonderful. You can get some special meals here, off menu, if you preorder. We went with a couple of our usual choices so we could see how they compared. We ordered some pork with Chinese vegetables and an order of Singapore rice noodles. Plus, for me an order of egg roll. The rice noodles were such a large portion that it filled two containers. And we wound up eating several meals from our take home food. The eggroll was very good. I ate one right away! There were two to the order. It had a different crispy wrapper -- it seemed house made. And it was filled with larger bits of meat. I really liked it. There was a lot of large flat pork slices in with the vegetables. In a brown sauce, there was broccoli, bok choy, pea pods, etc. It came with a side container of white rice. The rice noodles were fragrant with curry, but it only had a slight kick (as in not too spicy). There were lots of shrimp, chicken, and pork strips mixed in with the thin noodles. This dish was addictive. We are so glad we stopped to try them. Really one of the better Chinese places we've tried and certainly one of the better take-out places. Wish they were closer, or we'd be there more often.

Delicious and so kind. I got the chicken and broccoli dinner combo. Will definitely be back!read more
