When we saw the filthy floor (early in the day) and the filthy walls, door and trim work we should have turned around and left then. If this is put your best foot forward it makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. Ordered two lunch specials and two teas, one sweet, one unsweetened. the best beef and broccoli combo I've ever had. If you are looking for customer service workers to kiss your feet, this is not the place. They are efficient and to the point. "What do you want to order? Great. 10 minutes" They get it done quickly and I cannot stress this enough, this is the best takeout place me and my friends have ever had. OMG! I used to love this place cause they are nice people there. But I just ate my leftover from there. I ordered a Happy Family combination and chewed on something hard and fingered my mouth and pulled a large dog claw or bird beek from my chewed up food in my mouth. Customer service- 0 If I could give this establishment a zero, I would. Today I called at lunch time to place an order the female who picked up the phone began to yell. When she repeated the order wrong and I tried to clarify, she began screaming AT me. Yes...screaming. At that moment, I asked her "why are you screaming??". She got angry and continued to scream saying she told me what was included already. I told her to forget about it and before I could finish my sentence she screamed "OK THEN. CANCEL YOUR ORDER?!?!? BYYYYEEEE!!!!!" It was beyond unprofessional an rude. I placed an order at Mi Casita's next door and while I waited, I walked to China Wok to talk to the manager about the unprofessionalism I experienced. When I walked in, a girl in a black spaghetti strap tank and black short-shorts was ready to take my order. There were no customers in line. I kindly asked to talk to manager about the phone call. Her whole demeanor changed. She said she was the manager and she was the person who answered the phone. She immediately began to back-peddle and explain "that's just how I talk and it can sound like yelling but..." and "it was so busy in here and you kept asking questions and the same thing over and over" and "I had to say bye, when you said you were canceling the order". I told her I canceled the order because she was screaming at me and I was trying to clarify because she said the order wrong ... which she got wrong AGAIN at that moment, hence, me having to repeat myself. She took out her iPod ear buds and continued making excuses. I asked if there was anyone above her she said "no". I asked if she was the owner. "No". Can I have the owner's name, "I don't know his name". When I could speak to the owner "He is away." Asked when he'd be back, she said "I don't know". She proceeded to ignore me before I left. The WORST customer service I've ever received in my life, lol. I see other people had a similar experience with her. It's a pity I did not read these reviews until now. Take her off the phone...away from the front...at least. I think anyone ESPECIALLY a "manager" who treats customers like that needs to know how they make people feel. Absolutely terrific!! So I hardly write reviews but after seeing all the horrible ones on yelp I had to serve this place justice buy writing on of my own. Some have said that the service is bad. To them I say maybe you just don't know how to approach people. The man in front of me was rude, short, and was unable to articulate exactly what he wanted but his overall tone was very condescending. When I walked up I was ready to order, polite, and respectful. These folks are just hard working people like us and if you are polite you get politeness in return. Other restaurant reviews I've seen people have been stingy with the duck sauce or have had snide remarks when customers have asked for more. China wok had tubs of duck, soy, and hot sauce right on the counter and allow you to help yourself. The sitting area was clean and well taken care of. Most people were getting to go boxes and after ordering what I ordered I seriously only waited roughly 15 minutes. My kids were playing and my 2 year old was at times screaming from joy of her siblings but not once did I get an evil eye or a snide remark from the staff. I have three kids 11, 6, and 2. It's hard to find a place that serves all of them something they will eat but china wok did it! We ordered combo plates of broccoli beef, extra spicy Szechuan beef, chicken lo mien, sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, eggrolls, and fried dumplings. WE GOT HOOKED UP! This is the only place in North Carolina that all three of my kids have eaten so much food I was amazed. We have been to Chinese buffets and those crappy hibachi places people rave about. We have been to sushi and buffet pizza joints. My kids sat at the dinner table said, and I quote "own mom my stomach hurts but its so good I have to eat more!" my 6 year old started talking to his stomach saying "hold on I'm cutting more sesame seed chicken for you. Hold on tummy". My 2 year old stuffed her face with more eggroll, broccoli, pot stickers and crab Rangoon than I though she could fit in her belly!! They just kept eating. The only reason why this establishment gets the business that it does is because of it's location and the fact that its closest to the surrounding neighborhoods. Customer service is lacking, the woman/owner does not appreciate your patronage and the food is disgusting. The egg rolls have a chemical like aftertaste and the owner didn't put any soy sauce or duck sauce in my bag. Maybe that would have masked the taste. The person picking it up got to the restaurant and they were asking what the order was like they didn't know it was submitted. Had to wait an extra 15 minutes for the food because they started cooking it at that moment and they only made 1 meal not 2 like I ordered. This is a great restaurant. I am basing this off of what I want, and what I have seen out there. A nice, quiet atmosphere. And the price is really good. The food is also excellent. For example, there is at least three types of soup, and all the types of chicken you know of for American style Chinese food. There's also ice cream in a freezer and deserts. read more

I was craving Chinese, my husband isn't fan but we decided to try this place. I ordered the egg rolls, spring rolls, potstickers, sweet and sour pork, curry shrimp rice noodles and egg foo young. Everything was delicious, my husband who usually doesn't enjoy asian cuisine of any kind also really liked it as did our 9 and 16 year old. They also gave us a complimentary container of DELICIOUS jello (I have never described jello this way) and a container of pineapple. Yeah this place is pretty ridiculously disgusting. I walked in and one of the cooks was just standing in there picking his nose. Sorry, DIGGING in his nose. I was staring at him and it didn't seem to stop him at all. The other man was stirring a huge pot of what looked like chicken, with no gloves or anything, so I could only imagine that he didn't was his hands either. In terms of your run of the mill, standard chinese carry-out place, this place is quite literally as good as it gets. Food is always hot and ready when you arrive for pick-up, the staff is a bit short on the phone but always courteous in person, and the dishes are great and consistent. We won't order anywhere else. If you're looking for ambiance, gourmet or authentic Chinese, organic, low-sodium additive-free food, go elsewhere, but good luck finding better Chinese in the Fort Bragg area. read more

Yesterday is the last time we will ever go to this place to eat or take out food. The staff are very unfriendly and what's most important, the food is cooked in old rancid oil. We ordered egg rolls, fried rice and chicken wings. Everything tasted like old rancid oil. If we had lived closer to China Wok we would have returned the food for a refund. We have been getting takeout from this place for almost 3 years, and there were a handful of times that it was just okay. Honestly, more often than not the food was great. This place has been around for a long time. If you visit their location it's clear they know what they are doing, which is cook good food. Luckily is very near my house so we always go here for a quick fix on our chinese favorites. They also switched to some new food trays which are very convenient for reheating and eating out of in general. read more

Ordered take out 65-70 percent of my lo mein was rice. Then the egg roll was socked in oil. Took one bite and I felt my body rejecting it. I will never eat here again and will encourage all my friends to go somewhere else too. read more
