China Wok has really big serving portions. If you want a lot of chines food this is the place to go. My order was prepared fast so I could take it and go.

I've only been here once. I came in around lunch time for a quick bite. The pon pon chicken and ham fried rice were ok. The sauce was good but the chicken was a bit soggy. I ate less than a minute from the time I received the food. I just think it needed more time in the fryer. The fried rice was just your average ham fried variety. Everything was very affordable. Also I received my food quickly. There are only 4 or so tables for eating in. I believe most of their orders are to go.

Door Dashed some chicken lo mein noodles and pork. The noodles were so mushy it was inedible. The pork was so tough and not very good at all

China Wok is now one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The food is very good. I like the lemon chicken and the sesame chicken. They have great deals (the amount of food for the price is great!). If you beat the lunch or dinner rush food can be ready in 15 minutes, if you don't then about 30.

Sesame Chicken Combo. I had eaten some by the time I took this.

Having been spoiled with the variety of options in SoCal growing up, living in Wyoming means for slim pickings. Enter SLC and it's mediocre supply, but at least it has options. In my traveling to SLC since moving here I've tried approx. 8 different Chinese food restaurants. China Wok is the winner. I have serviced this restaurant four times now and have tried four types of entrees. The sesame chicken is hands down the most flavorful, with just the right mixture of sweet and spicy. Freshness may not be the height of the experience as you can see the basket of chicken they fry sitting in a basket next to the fryer. But that's what you expect at a Chinese restaurant. The fried rice is 3 of 4 stars. Tasty and fresh, but not extremely flavorful. The price is right, especially if you get there for he lunch prices. Overall I feel this is the best Chinese one can get in SLC. I'm sure others with disagree, but there really are not a lot of places to choose from that fit the high quantity and low price margin, which is what I look

Came here Christmas at 9:00pm, can barely understand a word the cashier is saying but it's nice that they're open on Christmas. She's not very helpful with the menu and I barely get through it. Food is a little pricey considering how dumpy the place is-glad I got takeout. They did great at getting my takeout ready quickly. Now on to food. Incredible value. Got a ton of food. Oh man, you get so much for the money. Taste is ok. I will be back. Love it.

For starters, we ordered the Wor Wonton Soup. The broth was rich and hearty. The shrimps were large and plentiful. All the vegetables blended in with the flavors. I just wish the beef was a little more tender. A little marinade in baking soda would fix this. We ordered some chicken lettuce wraps. This has minced chicken, celery, bamboo shoots, and carrots. These are good by themselves but are best with hoisin sauce. I just wish the lettuce leaves were bigger. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was also good. The sauce had a nice blend of mayo, honey and lemon. It had a little too much breading for me but still tasted good. For $16.99, I wished there was a bit more shrimp. One thing I really appreciate - they GLAZE the walnuts! This is one of the few places that I actually like the sauce and they glaze the walnuts! The Crispy Beef is definitely my favorite. In fact, I think this is better than the one I get from Red Maple. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of heat. Again, I really wish they would marinate the beef in baking soda to soften it up. The last dish we ordered was the Garlic Chicken. The server forgot to put the order in for this dish and there was a rush to get it out to us. They forgot to put garlic in this dish so wee sent it back. It was perfect when it came back. This place is fast becoming our go-to-place for Chinese Food. It's was a nice surprise and I'll can't wait to try the other dishes!

And then there are restaurants like rice king Express that operate in a local strip mall next to a big gym and don't meet a lot of the traditional criteria, but are nonetheless great restaurants to keep in your rotation. Rice King Express is a perfect example. Very friendly people. Invested in the community for decades. Good food. Good consistency. Lots of options. Very speedy, very kind and courteous owners and staff (family?). I love coming here when I can to support this business and to grab a quick meal. It's light years better than fast food but at the same speed. Their Kung pow chicken is my favorite, but they're sweet-and-sour, their noodle dishes, their eggrolls, beef, and broccoli, etc., are all excellent as well. A longtime favorite for authentic Cantonese food and excellent dim sum!…read more Amazing dim sum options, especially on the weekends when the carts roll out hot and fresh. The Siu Mai (pork and shrimp) is savory and juicy -- definitely one of my favorites. I also tried the Shrimp with Chive Dumplings, and they were surprisingly excellent: juicy, savory, with a nice fresh onion flavor. The Steamed BBQ Pork Buns are pillowy soft and practically melt in your mouth with their sweet shredded pork filling. Pro tip: Just eat the fried shrimp balls! The sweet and lightly mustard-tangy sauce that comes with them, combined with some sweet chili sauce, is absolute heaven. Just don't burn your mouth when they bring them out fresh from the fryer -- you're welcome. Order 3 dim sum plates if you're hungry, or 4 if you're starving or sharing with others. It's the perfect amount! The service is good -- friendly and attentive -- but it can get a little slow when they're busy, which is often. You can tell this is a popular spot that's been a favorite in the area for many years. The large groups that regularly file into the private dining room in the back say it all. Whether you're coming for weekend dim sum, a big family meal, or classic Cantonese dishes, Red Maple consistently delivers that comforting, high-quality experience. Highly recommend -- I've been back many times and will go again soon!
