A little hidden gem in Riverton, J & C House offers an excellent selection of sashimi and nigiri. I didn't have the opportunity to try the Chinese food on the menu, but we did get the sashimi platter with maybe 6 different fish (about 3 slices each). The sashimi was delicious and presented beautifully. Each piece of sashimi was pretty high quality and so flavorful, topped with very little seasoning or wasabi to allow the fish to shine. Service was very quick, and the restaurant has a nice aesthetic. I'll definitely be back! read more

VERY poor customer service. Ordered 4 items. The most expensive item was missing from the stapled shut delivery bag. J&C House blamed Uber driver. J&C made us drive over to another town pick up the item THEY forgot to put in our bag. They blamed Uber Eats, but it was clearly the fault of J&C because the bag was stapled shut. They refused to make things right and made us drive 15 minutes away just to pick up the roll they missed. Would not offer us anything for our wasted time, and the higher tip we gave to the Uber driver based on the cost of the food. Manager refused to do anything for our trouble for their error. Packaging leaked sauces all over everything. Poorly packaged. The food was just "ok." Will not come back. read more

I've been here previously and tried some sushi rolls this time. The Golden Dragon Roll was good; I didn't love it cuz I'm not a big fan of fried rolls. The portion was bigger than expected, so overall, it was pretty decent for the price. I liked the Rainbow Roll. It was perfect for two people to share cuz we both got to try a variety of food within one order of roll. Highly recommend a party of two to try this. We weren't full after the two rolls and got the Queen S Roll as dessert. It's got strawberries and mango sauce on it. It was yummy and I really liked the sauce. Reminded me of mango sticky rice a bit. While the food was delicious, I gave it a 4-star because I think it's a bit pricey and not worth it. With just a bit more money, I could've gone to an ayce and had a bunch of rolls, sashimi, and much more. I know their sashimi are very fresh, but I wouldn't pay that much for just a small portion. We had our toddler with us and his food came out first! How good this place is cannot be overstated. This is the single best restaurant near salt lake, hands down. Don't waste your time with the americanized crap orange chicken, crab rangoon and general tso's chicken (though don't get me wrong, even all that's leagues better than what you'd get anywhere else) - go straight for the scallop nigiri, toro & umi, and hamachi kama (off menu). In particular, and especially considering the price (a mere $16 as of 1/16/25), the hamachi kama probably makes my top 10 dishes EVER. Don't sleep on this restaurant. read more

Food is ok, service is similar. Skip the tempura. We did the Yakisoba noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and some sushi. There was nothing that stood out. First the appetizer came out with the food which is subpar. The sushi were basic without much flavor, noodles and sweet and sour tasted like they came from the frozen food section. I've been coming here for years. It never disappoints. Steven the owner is so attentive and his staff service is fantastic. He gets you whatever you need. Sushi is fresh and high quality. I've been here a few times already and always had a good experience. I usually had sushi, but this time, I decided to try some Chinese food. I got the chicken lo mein (noodles) and ham fried rice. The lo main was average, but I liked the fried rice. The portion was reasonable. I have to say that I enjoyed their Japanese food more than the Chinese food. I also got the ichi roll, scallop, and tako (octopus). Their sashimi were a bit pricey, but they were very fresh and of good quality. They said some sashimi were shipped directly from Japan! I would definitely recommend this place for sushi lovers. In general, they have really good service. The first time I went, the server was super friendly. She came over often to check on us and gave suggestions of what to order. I felt like a highly valued customer. read more

The beef and broccoli was not eatable. Broccoli was mushy and the beef was chewy and nasty. The general zoa chicken had decent flavor but was also subpar. The beef yakisoba was also not good, it was too sweet and the beef was extremely low quality and chewy. Water was lukewarm, and heavy tap water flavor, I had to ask twice and finally got up to get ice for our waters. The best thing was the orange chicken. We ordered it with the sauce on the side so it wouldn't come out soggy. The breading was crispy and the sauce flavor was good. Service is also mediocre, as is the atmosphere. Price isn't bad, as it shouldn't be with the quality of food. If we're desperate on a Sunday, we may go by again and just get rice and two orders of orange chicken.

Yeah that was a joke. $50 in and not once did they refill my water or ask how my meal was. They def made sure to check on the other tables, though. 1/10 Stay away from this place. It's not good.
