How bazaar! This place has big deals in Little China! This souvenir shop has it all. If you wanna look like you've been to China with a bunch of Chinese stuff made in China, this is the place. They do have things relating to Chicago, but a lot of the stuff is just Chinese stuff that'll sit around your house gathering dust. Think lots of little statues, vases, cups, bowls. I feel like a bull in a China shop in here- all the aisles and merchandise is so jammed close together, that every time I turn around, I feel like I'm going to break some fragile jade egg or some bamboo vase. They also sell Chinese clothing, which all seemed a bit small for my tastes. But it's pretty. It's a shop in a nice location- it's sort of in the souvenir district of Chinatown- there's a few cool other similar shops on the same street, right in front of the Chinese archway that leads you into Chinatown. read more

Fun little souvenir shop with a wide range of 装饰品诀窍 (Zhuāngshì pn) which I think means knick knacks or decorations. They sell calligraphy pens but I wasn't able to write this, though I tried for a full 5 minutes. The staff is helpful, and patient. There's quite a bit of stuff crammed into a small space, and it ranges from the very cheap (and looks very cheap) the to the inexpensive (and doesn't look cheap) souvenirs to nice decorations. It's too tight with too many fragile items to bring in younger children (unless they are very well behaved) but there are lots of toys to give to children as gifts. Not surprisingly it's all made in China, including the Japanese sake serving sets which are quite a bit cheaper than you would find elsewhere. It's really fun to shop here, and you can't leave Chinatown with out some sort of souvenir, right? read more

This place is very nice and cool. It has amazing things to choose from like arts, pictures, clothing etc. It has a very calming and friendly staff/people and try to help you, if you are looking for something. Shopping in Chinatown is always an adventure. At least that's the way I look at it when I get to poke into every little shop looking for nothing but invariably finding something that calls to me. Chinatown Bazaar is no exception. This store stocks more clothing and purses than most on this stretch of Wentworth. Know that the sizes are SMALL. My friend who weighs about 100 pounds soaking wet was a large . . . .hmm . . .doubt I'll be shopping for clothes here anytime soon! I did pick up a little purse that will be perfect for a fancy night out for a steal, though! They also have these interesting cloth posters with Bruce Lee and cartoon characters on them (have no idea what I would do with something like that but they drew quite a crowd!) The other thing I liked were some of the accessories but I wasn't willing to search through all the junky jewelry to find something of value. My more patient friend actually found a necklace that I now covet but since I live here (and she doesn't) I can go digging for treasure anytime. The store is small and packed from floor to ceiling with stuff. If you've got patience and an eye for "treasures" you'll probably walk out with something you love. As for me? I think this is my favorite gift shop in Chinatown. I could spend hours here. My mom finds her good luck gold hanging ornaments here. We have also picked up some jade pendants and other fun items. I was amazed that after the guy at the World Journal Book Store off Archer told me that my mom's horoscope book that she wanted was out of stock everywhere in the US, we found it at this store only a few hours later. They can also make some custom clothes as well. I saw this super cute outfit that I want to get my niece. If my mom is taking a while grocery shopping, this is where I'm sneaking off to! read more

I was on a quest to buy an assortment of little Buddha statues for a party, to give out as party favors. At the Chinatown Bazaar, I found exactly what I was looking for. I picked out 20 little charmers which turned out to be a big hit with my guests and hopefully good luck all round. The woman who waited on me, told me I came in on a very lucky day. It was a triple lucky day as it was the day of the dragon, in the month of the dragon, in the year of the dragon. I was shopping for my birthday party and I happen to have been born in a dragon year, so she and I both celebrated with a lot of well wishing and she gave me a discount on my Buddhas as well as several Chinese paper lanterns. I also picked out several larger Buddhas for myself, so needless to say, I left one happy camper!!! The shop itself is small, claustrophobic and jam packed with merchandise, which is exactly what I was looking for. After a great lunch at Moon Palace, this is exactly what I needed to complete my Chinatown afternoon. All I can say is that my Buddhas have brought me good luck ever since I got them. Coincidence? Oh snap, I just got gyped! I go in to look for a cute little souvenir and the owner/cashier is all over me trying to say "hi" in every single Asian language in the known universe. With all her yapping in my ear, I can't focus and pick up what I thought was a pair of Mashimaro hair bands. Wrong. It's not a pair, it's one hair tie. Who the hell sells one little hair tie by itself?? Apparently these guys do. I come back to ask for the other one and the woman wasn't as happy as she was the day before and says, "No Refunds." Cool little place. The people there are very helpful, just point at what you want hanging from the ceiling or wall and they will find it, somewhere, somehow. Also, they gave me an extra gift, dont know why, but I bought more than 20 bucks of stuff....Maybe the reason. Ride the water taxi down, way more fun than the CTA. read more

A very nice experience. I was impressed by their broad range of merchandise, everything from paper lanterns to wood carvings to dolls. And they have a nice selection of Chinese dresses and shirts reasonably priced (even if the changing room is a little dodgy.) There were also some pretty kimono, which was awesome. There are just so many pretty things at good prices. The only thing is that, as a fair number of stores in Chinatown, it's a little cramped and somewhat difficult to get around. I couldn't even get to some of the clothing in the back since there was a ladder in the way. I'm willing to overlook that, though. The staff was really friendly and helpful, very fun to talk to. We had a little mix up because they charged us for items my brother had bought separately and they weren't really sure how to refund us but they were so nice about it and were clearly trying their best. Overall it's a nice experience, good little place to do some light knick knack shopping. read more

People at this store are very friendly and try to help you find what you're looking for. They have a huge selection when it comes to clothing, shoes, jewelry, lanterns, charms, tea, etc.... and everything they carry is considerably higher quality than most other stores on the strip. If you walk in and think that some of their prices are a bit higher than other places, just compare what they are selling to that of their competitors and you'll understand why. Whenever I need a a nice gift, I just run in to Chinatown Bazaar because they stand true to their name, "BAZAAR." They always have new merchandise coming in and I don't have to go to a bunch of other shops just to find what I am looking for. If you're in town, you def wanna check it out! This place has a lot of knick-knacks for gifts and general amusement. For 75 cents, I bought a chopstick training holder thing that connects chopsticks. I am uncoordinated when using chopsticks and am curious (and a tad bit excited - dorky, I know) to see how this thing works. It was that or buying a Hello Kitty set of already-connected chopsticks for kids. Which one would you choose? I also bought a hard eyeglass/sunglass case for $4.99, a bit more than the one I bought (and later lost) in L.A. Whatever. I needed a new one. read more

This is a cute little store! It has cute little knick knacks to a good selection of chinese dresses and shirts. What I really loved about this place are the employees! My friend tried on quite a few shirts and was looking for a specific type of shirt. Bless their little hearts...they helped us and searched hard for what she was looking for! This a tourist trap of the best kind...lots of neat stuff. Been there about 10 times. Ms. Wu is very nice and helpful and speaks very good engrish. Lots of souvenirs and trinkets and neat stuff...some of the stuff here actually is durable and useful. read more

Very nice store with a ton of interesting gifts. I've experienced from some gift shops (across the street) a language barrier when I am looking for a specific item. Staff is very helpful and A+ in my book. If you spend over $10 they give you a free gift (a colorful paper lantern) a nice touch. read more
