I haven't been in quite some time, but I had been gifted a Groupon that I needed to use before it expired, and since my regular massage therapist (at a different business) was away for a month, I decided to cash in my voucher. This massage was nothing like the previous ones I had received from Beacon Massage. For one thing, a good 15 minutes of my allotted massage time was spent on a lecture about my posture, my sleeping position, my stance, and my exercise habits. If I had wanted such advice, I would have gone to my chiropractor or my doctor. Second, a good 10 minutes was spent with the massage therapist seeing how "uneven" my body was, which required me to be on the bed in my clothes while I was told that one leg was slightly longer than the other, one hip was higher than the other, etc. Very strange. Third, I had asked for a focus on my upper back and instead most of the massage was spent on my arms. When I opened my eyes to peak at the clock, 15 minutes had gone of just arm work! I was told to flip to my front for only 10 minutes of back work (remember, 25 minutes had been spent on a lecture and fixing my "unevenness". After leaving the room, I was treated to another lecture about my posture and how I shouldn't ask for back work, and then the massage therapist immediately asked how I wanted to tip. I always tip, but I still find it rude to ask outright about it, especially after having just lectured me on things you think I need to correct in my life. I'm very disappointed by this massage, especially since I previously had some decent ones from Beacon Massage. I visited for a relaxation massage, but instead received a lecture about my body that was pretty condescending and anything but relaxing. I won't be coming back.

At first they acted like there was a language barrier but when I didn't buy it, they changed their approach and literally just kept trying to strong arm me into giving a $20 tip, which was ridiculous given everything that transpired. After arguing with them for 5 minutes and standing my ground, they finally gave me change and I scrounged up $2 in my purse. In retrospect, I should've walked out without tipping. This review doesn't begin to accurately depict the unpleasant experience. They were extremely aggressive and ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. However, that all went out the window when they wouldn't let me leave without trying to take a 31% tip. The room I was placed it had no A/C on a hot summer day, and the table was a medical type table covered in a plastic cover. The equipment was dated (I've never seen anything like this before). I was asked to put on a robe that was dirty and then I proceeded to sweat for an hour while she did nontraditional facial procedures. At the conclusion of the facial, I was so alarmed I wondered if I was on the show, Punked. Avoid.
