I am visiting Boston and I searched up "best massage places" on TikTok which led me here. I saw a few good reviews and I love a good hole in the wall, so I decided why not! Trust me, I wanted to love this place so bad!!! I was so excited and came in with a positive attitude. The massage itself is not typical. You stay clothed and there are no rooms, just curtain dividers which kind of threw me off but whatever, I was still feeling hopeful. My first red flag was the fact that they did not ask my preference regarding the gender of the masseuse. They gave me a man which I don't typically allow but it was fine because I was clothed. Anyways, the part of the massage, the head and neck was nice. The feet portion was absolutely horrendous. My standards are not high but this straight up did not feel good at all. He had two long nails that were DIGGING into my skin when he was "massaging". Genuinely every moment I was wishing for it to be over. Even without the nails, it would still have been uncomfortable because the pressure points and areas where he was massaging were not right. I actually left feeling worse. I understand that I could have gotten up and left but I wanted to see if it would eventually improve? When I was paying, the woman arrogantly asked "how will you be paying for the tip?". I told her I would not be tipping because I didn't enjoy the service and she demanded reasoning... what is up with these people? I feel so annoyed that I wasted my money on this!! I take responsibility for not standing up for myself but I'm still pissed! My feet hurt even now while writing this. I'm sure the quality of service differs between employees but I wouldn't take my chances. read more

Came here one day because I was in a need for a massage and this was worth it! I called in advanced and I would recommend it because they were very busy for a Friday afternoon. There were people that just walked in as well and was seen very quickly. This massage place is pretty bare bones and it's not a super luxurious environment. Once you decide how long you want the massage for, you're taken into the back room where there are multiple stations. You get started with a foot soak, followed by a head massage, and then the foot reflexology. I did a 45 minute session and I felt great afterwards and it was fairly inexpensive. I would highly recommend this spot. It's extremely affordable, it;s relaxing an soothing. The temperature is just right while soft tranquil music is playing. Lighting is dark and cozy. My best foot massage previously was in the Philippines, but now Happy Feet is my favorite. They first wash your feet then provide a hot towel wrap to soften the feet. Then they serve fresh fruit and work on shoulders and neck while seated on a chair. The arms are also massaged as well. After they work on your feet, there was a tiny bit of discomfort from the hot stones used but besides that the masseuse was able to rearch my flat feet. Was NOT thrilled with this foot spa (I've been to several and have experience with them). Let's start with their massage is ROUGH. I'm a fan of deep tissue massages but this was beyond that- VERY painful. Even when you ask them to go lighter, they don't. 20% of the massage is rubbing, the other 80% is pounding/hitting you. What really annoyed me about my experience was checkout. The lady taking my payment was NOT happy with an 18% tip. She would not break my $20 because "look, look here, THIS is how much 20% tip is". She would NOT accept any tip less than what SHE wanted (was very demanding). I found it to be very rude, and quite frankly, it caught me off guard. If there is a mandatory 20% tip, then include it in the original price, or post a sign. Just found the entire tipping experience to be very off-putting, I still can't believe how unappreciative she was of my tip, and I will NOT return. I've been to places that were over the top expenses and some more reasonable ones and even a school. THIS place is the best! I had Jing and the whole experience was incredible. I went in for a 90-minute massage, and the woman spent half her time during the first hour on her cell phone texting and then returning to do the massage. You could tell she had no interest in being there. I watched others getting a massage, and it was way more intense than the little strokes I got after every 10-minute intervals. I literally had to get up and leave because it felt like a joke. The woman doing my massage seemed more attentive to her cell phone than the client. Terrible! I doubt I'll be back here again. Wow. I've been to a lot of different spots but Mike at Happy Feet was seriously skilled. I wasn't sure about having the massage in the open room but in the end it was perfectly fine. He had the perfect amount of pressure to not only "fix" a few things but also help me relax. There's something about a massage therapist that really understands muscles, bones, joints, etc. Mike was one of those guys; experienced and talented. I definitely found the foot massage to be particularly good compared to others I had as he was able to spot an injury I had and do a little work to loosen things up. I had one heck of an amazing massage here today. I had no appointment, and was lucky to be able to walk in and get going. The man worked my back and lower back and it was the best deep tissue massage I had. All this while my feet were soaking in warm water. Next he worked my feet, toes, calves and it was amazing. I had a gift certificate to this reflexology place so I went here this month for an hour long foot massage. I had to wait for a few minutes before someone came out to greet me. The staff took me into a dark room in the back and had me seated. One of the male massage therapists initially brought out a tub of warm water for me to soak my feet. Then, he gave me a massage on my neck, shoulders and back for 20 minutes. It was definitely like a deep tissue massage. It was awesome! Then, for the next 40 minutes, he concentrated on massaging both of my feet. It was a very relaxing experience. They also gave you a dish of orange slices to enjoy during the massage. Nicely designed place and clean ambience. Not much of a welcome or greeting upon arrival. Very little communication overall which was confusing and a bit cold. Reflexology massage was solid but it ended up being 50 minutes instead of an hour. No questions about pressure or pain points / injuries. Tea and orange slices were a nice touch. As seems to be standard at these type of places, any tip amount will be scoffed at and unappreciated. Really leaves a sour taste as a last interaction before exiting. Ever had a traditional Chinese foot massage before? If not, THIS IS A MUST TRY. This place was recommended to me by a coworker who lived in China for several years. She said she traveled the states and tried several places, but this spot in Boston is the only place that came the closest to what she experienced in China. I personally have nothing to compare this experience to, but I can say I would much rather spend my money on this massage vs a back massage at an expensive fancy parlor. With the traditional Chinese foot massage, they not only massage your feet but also your head, neck, back, arms, hands, fingers, and legs!!! You even get hot tea, oranges, a hot towel and hot stones. Happy Feet is my happy place! Whenever I'm feeling down or my body is aching, Happy Feet's got my back. I found this place over a year ago and I've been coming back ever since as often as I can. If you didn't know, reflexology is basically a form of alternative medicine where the focus on the pressure points of your feet to resolve issues in other parts of your body. There is no scientific evidence that it is an effective cure for any medical condition, so I won't go into it; but reflexology is a great way for me to relax and balance my mind and body. Ever since I've been getting reflexology, I've noticed that my muscles are more relaxed, especially the ones in my back that are affected by my scoliosis. With Happy Feet, I am usually seated right away because I make appointments beforehand. I rarely have to wait, and I've noticed them ask people to come back if they don't make appointments if they're busy. Inside, they offer complimentary orange slices and a beverage of your choice (I usually stick to tea or water, but they also have juice and soda). You're first seated on the ottoman to soak your feet in an herbal bath while they work on your head, neck, back, and arms. Then, they'll dry off your feet and you move to a chair to work on your feet and legs. The chairs are nice and comfortable and they give you pillows to lean back on. I usually wear dresses or shorts when I go to get reflexology, and they'll lay a towel on me to cover my legs. Afterward, there's usually a hot stone rubdown and some additional legwork. I've worked with several of the reflexologists there and I've never had a bad experience. The most recent time I went, I saw some new people, but I also saw a lot of the regulars. If you're wary of trying out new reflexologists, then be sure to call in and make an appointment with a specific person, but they're all pretty good. Some will have different specialties, but the process is generally the same. My one small warning: I don't speak Chinese and I don't have any major health/body issues -- so I don't have to communicate much aside from the basics. If you do need to tell them something specific about your body, you may not be able to because many of the reflexologists don't seem to have strong English skills. All in all, I always leave with happy feet; so I definitely recommend. read more

Desperately needed a foot massage the day after I spent the entire night on the dance floor at my wedding & then walked around Boston all day. Call at 5:40 on a Saturday night & was able to book a 60 minute massage for 6pm that night. The massage was overall very good & left my feet feeling so much better! I will say I had to ask multiple times for more pressure and it would last a minute or so because going back to something a lot softer than I would have liked. However, this place is always so disorganized and scheduling an appointment can take years off your life thanks to the hot messes behind their counter. Someone had told me about you months ago, so I took advantage of a day off and figured that I would jump on that Groupon deal and head in. I even gave up what turned out to be the only sunny day in about a week as well I arrive, just off the commuter rail, to find that the woman I spoke with NEVER WROTE THE APPOINTMENT IN THE BOOK. NEVER. WROTE. THE . APPOINTMENT. DOWN. So I had no appointment. I gave up my sunny day off, took the (sketchy) commuter rail for nothing, and THEN had to wait 1 hr 45 minutes until the next train from South Station. Yeah. Once again, this makes me VERY UNHAPPY. VERY. UNHAPPY. I called from my other phone which was at home, and the girl asked me what time I called on Monday; "I don't know... afternoon.... I spoke with a woman" was my answer. I couldn't show her my phone (since it was at home to prove this call) but it turns out it was THE MANAGER I spoke with. EVEN BETTER!! The MANAGER didn't write down the appointment! However, if you, Happy Feet, are reading this and would like a screenshot of my phone, please message me so I can get that to you ASAP. Besides, even if I had the phone with me at that time, you still couldn't get me in. Idea: Even though I repeated myself on the phone and confirmed the date/day/time of my appointment, maybe they could call. Okay, I saw all the 5-star​ reviews and thought it's got to be at least good... right? NO NO NO I go to Chinatown in NYC regularly for foot massages. I've been having foot massages for around 10 years. This is a poor excuse for foot massage reflexology. First, the place is dirty. We made an appointment for 2 people for ONE HOUR treatments. They do NOT set a timer when they start. If you want to test this place out because you're lured in by the supposed 5-star​ reviews or by some living social deal then fine. But SET a timer and show them you're doing it. The one hour massage lasted just under 50 minutes. The first part of the foot massage is for some reason a 15 minute back/shoulder massage. While it was an attempt at deep tissue massage (which I happen to love) they push quite hard on the cervical spine (neck) which is delicate. This can be very dangerous! They stick their knee in your back on both sides... I've no clue why. They finally get to your feet. I kept thinking they'd eventually​ get it right. Again, having had consistently​​y amazing foot massages I found that this staff had no ability to know where to focus and just kept rubbing over, nearly missing the reflexology points. It was so disappointing. They at 35 minutes​ into the whole thing (including back/shoulder thing) they bring out the warm towel to wash off the massage cream. WAIT!!! it's only 35 minutes. I kept thinking there was going to be something next... NOPE took nearly 7 minutes of the warm towel and hot stones (they didn't really know how to use the stones) followed by 7 minutes of punching your thighs. Yup... that's it, ​folks. I wouldn't go here if you had a serious injury or muscle issue but if you more want just a little tension relief it's perfect. What a horribly run "business." First off, this place is near impossible to find! I arrived at 155 for my 2 pm appointment today (which I called to make TWO weeks ago and took the afternoon off of work to treat myself to a relaxing massage). When I arrive, there was noone in sight, so I had a seat on the couch in the waiting area. After a couple of minutes, a man came out of one of the rooms. I told him I had a 90 min appt at 2. He told me to wait a few minutes then disappeared. After 5 more minutes of waiting, I called their phone number (figuring someone had to come out to answer, right?) I heard no phone ring, but a woman picked up (from God knows where!) and told me that their 1 pm appt was late and they could take me at 215. Now, I live an hour away and coordinated my appt around the train schedule, so I couldn't wait 15 minutes PAST my appointment time. I left and am totally disgusted at the lack of professionalism.
