We found this place on our way from Pittsburgh to the Outer Banks through yelp. Absolutely best Chinese food we've had. We went out of our way to return after a LAX Tournament trip from Richmond. Our son goes to Liberty University and this will be a stop halfway on all of our trips now from now on. If you like pork, make sure to try the spicy garlic pork. went to their sunday buffet and we'll be back. the food was fresh, delicious, plenty of choices for meats and veggies, dessert had lots of fresh fruit and melted chocolate for dipping. come early because the place is not huge and it gets full. layout of the place is not good. i find it quite cramped and i always like to see available space in a corner where one can chow down in privacy but not here. as soon as you're seated the waitstaff will come and ask what kind of soup you want. i didn't really care for the soup and thought it's a way to justify tips. it is a buffet after all and doesn't require much service. but the waitstaff are educated, pleasant, young people just trying to do a great job. i went there on a weekday and wasn't too impressed with selection and dessert was just sugar donuts and nothing else, i was surprised to see a number of mma groups and solos come in. a few had pistols by their waist. they were in uniform so i supposed there's a school for martial arts nearby. this place is clean and serves fresh lunch buffet. they have a lot of vegetarian dishes like tofu, green beans, pickles, etc. they have some sushi but seems like there always stuffed with fake crab meat. read more

Thought i give it a try from all the stars from everyone but really disappointed with the food the only reason i give 2 stars is the General Tso chicken was ok. The other order was KungPao chicken, it was as if they just cut chicken breast in chunks an dumped sauce(more like broth) on it,chicken was really dry. The food here is very good, the buffet contains a good variety and is well balnced. Cuisine seems to be a blend of Chinese and Thia forming a unique flavor that is both spicy and flavourful. I love the green beans with fresh garlic and Kung Pao Chicken, hot tea is also excellent. Food is fresh, service is excellent, and bathrooms are clean. We have eaten at the buffet and have gotten takeout from here and have no complaints. A few years ago the quality fell and we abandoned it for awhile, but retried it a year ago and I'm happy to say that the food has returned to its formal glory. Chinatown, hands down, is in the top two for great quality Chinese food in the Winchester area. The sushi is delicious, too! I appreciate good hole-in-the-wall Chinese food, but what Chinatown offers is totally different - it's gourmet Chinese cuisine in a classy-but-casual atmosphere, at a very reasonable price. It's a perfect place to take a date, or just stop in for a quick bite to eat. Their daily lunch buffet is a GREAT deal, but the quality of the food doesn't suffer at all. They also have a Wednesday night dinner buffet and a Sunday lunch buffet that offers a slightly wider selection (particularly in terms of dessert) than the regular weekday/Saturday lunch buffet. Some servers are better than others, but it's a restaurant, so that's to be expected. That being said, Chinatown appears to have a much lower employee turnover rate than a lot of local restaurants. Absolutely Delicious! Went for lunch on Friday with friends and I cannot say enough good things about Chinatown. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome and the host seated us immediately. The restaurant was busy but our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. After a few minutes our food arrived and that's when I had the best Udon noodles. The Sichuan Udon Noodles are amazing! The smokey spicy sauce with chopped pork is the perfect blend of flavors. Some restaurants only have 1 or 2 favorites but we enjoyed 6 delicious entrees that are all now favorites. The Crispy Yummy appetizer is another must try at Chinatown (spicy minced tuna, shredded daikon, avocado, shredded cucumber, spicy mayo and tobico served on a crispy flour shell) the description made my mouth water and the taste was beyond my expectations. A hidden gem! When a coworker told me they had the best sushi in town I was wary but gave it a try. As soon as I walked in I was shocked at how nice it is. You wouldn't guess due to the location and the name. But their sushi was exceptional (I had the Out of Control roll with tempura shrimp, unagi, crab, cucumber, and spicy mayonnaise) so we came back on Sunday to try the buffet. WOW. Hands down the best Asian buffet I have had. Everything tasted authentic and the sauces had so much flavor. We loved their Thai Basil chicken, beef and mushrooms, Kung pao chicken, crab rangoons, and green beans. Honestly though we liked every single thing we tried. Incredible! The strawberries and raspberries with yummy dark chocolate dipping sauce were the highlight of the dessert bar. We will be back!! Although not advertised online, they serve a lunch buffet daily from 11:00-2:30 for $7.50 per adult and a buffet with desserts for $11.50 per adult on Sundays 12-3 and Wednesday night 5-8:30. read more

Upon arrival we had to request the buffet be replenished as most trays were empty or had obviously been sitting for quite some time.. I read all the reviews of the buffet. Convinced my boyfriend to go give it a try instead of our usual which is half price sushi at Okinawa. We have eaten here many, many times and we have friends that go there, also we tell people it is the best. Last night was terrible! The worst food that cost me over $ 40 for two people! When we explained this to our server, the excuse was because we came in later in the evening and the buffet special was ending! What! When we go for half off sushi we get fresh food, made fresh! If the buffet is ending and the food is gone or not fresh we shouldn't have paid the same as people who had fresh food! There was no offer to make the situation better and we both decided on the way home we won't return and we won't tell people that the food there is outstanding because our feeling is that as customers we were brushed aside. Our concerns weren't acknowledged or addressed. Prior to this we ordered menu items, never the buffet. We are done here, Okinawa is sooo much better! read more

Now onto the entree.....good, best I've had in the region but after arriving in the larger DC metro area at the beginning of 2015....my quest for excellent Chinese isn't over. We've found a new favorite! We kept hesitating to go here because it doesn't look so great from the outside. But I'm SO glad we tried it! It's lovely inside, the menu has traditional favorites as well as some different offerings. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding. When we asked for a box to take some leftovers home, the waiter boxed it tableside for us, even labeling the box with the date and the contents. Wow. In an area where Chinese buffets with sodium/MSG loaded entrees are the norm, to find a good authentic Chinese restaurant was wonderful. I'm originally from the Philadelphia/S Jersey area where excellent Chinese restaurants abound and Chinatown by far is the best I've found since moving to the area. Everything we've tried has been wonderful (The Hong Kong Noodle is excellent!). While they do offer a small buffet, we prefer the menu selections and have never been disappointed. read more
