Visited yesterday for lunch with friends on our way to apple picking. This is my 2nd visit after the first about 10 years ago at their former location. The hospitality and quality of food have not changed at all. Their tom yum soup is the best I have had so far. Crispy beef was addictively delicious. My friend loved her pad thai. Oreo cheesecake & sticky rice w/ mango were heavenly. The restaurant was very clean and thoughtfully decorated, creating an ambiance for joyful conversations with friends while enjoying wonderful food. I wanted to love this place a little more. Pros and cons. Very friendly staff and clean. I was alone so I sat at the bar. The restaurant has several dining rooms and I believe an upstairs for parties. Nice. I ordered the Crab Rangoon and the Crazy Roll. The Crazy Roll is a California Roll with Tuna and other things. That was pretty good. Good flavor. The rice was maybe a little old - not very moist. But the roll was good and the rest of it was fresh. I would definitely go back to try other rolls. The Crab Rangoon was a bit disappointing. I found it was more Won Ton than filling. I really wanted more filling so I would not order them again. There is something on the menu for everyone which I loved. Soups, salads, burgers, curry and sushi. I wold definitely give them another try. read more

Our "usual" favorite was closed today so my mom and I decided to try something different, and I'm so glad we did! Everything we ordered at Chop Stick Cafe was excellent. We each started with a house salad, the ginger dressing is homemade and it's SO good. Egg rolls were perfectly crispy and full of flavor. My mom got a soup, I can't remember which one, but it was overflowing with fresh vegetables. She loved it! I ordered the cashew chicken. It was DELICIOUS! Perfectly spicy as I requested, fresh tender chicken, plenty of veggies. I also got an asparagus roll which was quite impressive for a $4 roll. We left stuffed! The service was excellent and very attentive, our drinks never went empty. The dining area is small but it's cozy, well-decorated, comfortable, and clean. Absolutely incredible. Loads of vegetarian options. The staff is very warm and made me feel like a welcome friend. The tofu soup was lovely, light, piping hot, with a medley of veggies. The goguma roll makes the top of my list for best vegetarian rolls I've had - salty with nice crunch and a little acid to balance it out. Unfortunately, this restaurant was not the move. I'll keep this review short and sweet. We ordered 5 sushi rolls, and only one gets a pass, as it was rather decent (black dragon roll). As for the others, absolutely unacceptable, especially at the price point. Packed to the brim with rice, seemingly rolled by an amateur, as they fell apart underneath our chopsticks. We also discovered a piece of plastic inside the mound of ginger. Do not get the sushi here. As for the other menu item, Sesame Chicken, sorely disappointed as well. This was a "Chef Special" item. The quality of the chicken was no better than the frozen chicken you get at Costco. Sesame chicken at Panda trumps the chef special. HOW? Strict 2/5, no intention of returning. read more

My wife and I ordered takeout from here. I am a big fan of foreign flavors and after reading the menu figured Chop Stick Cafe would be perfect. I placed my takeout order online and walking in to pick up was quick and easy, service was fast. I was originally going to order a curry dish but then my wife convinced me to try the Bulgogi Stir Fry. Very tasty sauce and loved the mix of beef and vegetables. The sesame seed herb added a nice pop to the flavor. I recommend giving this place a try. They have a wide variety of items on the menu and the two dishes my wife and I ordered thought they did very well with. I would want to try another Chef Special dish and/or some sushi rolls next time! read more

I love this little restaurant. It's so stinking cute!! The food is freshly prepared when you get there. The restaurant is cute and authentic. Parking is on the street and easy to get to. The flavors in the shrimp fried rice are so very tasty; different from just regular shrimp friend rice. I am not a fan of the tails being on the shrimp however. Pro: mostly good food, friendly staff, clean environment, relaxing rustic interior atmosphere. Con: limited parking space, boba drink. In the Winchester area for work and looking for a place to dine out. We decided to try out this establishment after looking at their menu. The restaurant has very limited parking space in the front since they are next to houses and stores. Luckily, there is a garage parking about 5 min away walking distance that I used and they charge 50 cent per hour. For appetizer we order the wonton soup, fried egg rolls, mango bubble tea, and a fire dragon roll. The egg roll was vegetables based and when dip in a sweet sauce it tasted great. For the wonton soap when I first tasted the broth I laugh a little because it tasted like a pho broth to me and not what I was expecting. Still the broth was flavorful and the wonton itself was good. The fire dragon roll sushi when dip in soy sauce was pretty good for me even thought I usually don't like eating sushi. The bubble tea was a disappointment since it lack sweetness & flavor. My main entree was the Pad Thai Noodle with meat and a spice level of 5. The pad thai noodle come in beef or chicken & spice level can be between 1-10 with 10 being the highest. The pad Thai tasted a little bit sweet with the spicy tang flavor that pack a punch with every bite. For dessert, we order the Oreo cheese cake which tasted ok and a little bit dry but when we add a scope vanilla ice cream at home to the cheese cake the flavor was elevated to another level. The interior of the restaurant had a modern rustic feel and the music in the background was very relaxing during the meal. Our server Caitlyn S. was very friendly, very attentive to our needs, and provides excellent customer service. Short story: unassuming exterior, but charming and beautiful interior. Good quality food, fresh ingredients, and a large, but not over complicated menu. Long story: I'd been hearing a lot of local chatter about this being the place to order sushi. A friend and I got lunch together and we were both pleasantly surprised at the beautiful interior the moment we walked in. There is the initial area with the hostess station, sushi bar, and some group seating. Through a hallway on the right there is more seat, and it looked like there were some upstairs seating options. We both ordered lunch specials. The rice was perfectly cooked and came out hot (which cannot be said for similar restaurants in the area). Based how lunch was, we are planning to go back for sushi during their dinner hours. The staff was friendly, and kept an eye on us, but didn't hover. There is some street parking, and just a block or two south there is a large parking garage that is pretty inexpensive. read more

I hate to say it, but this is probably the worst restaurant my boyfriend and I have ever eaten at. We were feeling sushi, and upon some other reviews decided to check it out- incredibly subpar. We got the spicy tuna crunch, rainbow roll, black dragon roll, and the pacific roll (salmon), in addition to sesame chicken. All of them were pretty bad- lots of rice (the spicy tuna crunch was half rice), messily rolled and falling apart, pretty subpar fish quality (tasteless and almost mushy), and generally stingy with fillings/toppings. I've rolled maki that holds together better than these- it was very amateurish. Individually, the spicy tuna crunch was really just the taste of rice with an aftertaste of spicy mayo. The rainbow roll was skimpy with fish toppings, and filled with an unapologetic artificial crab stick. The pacific roll was fairly bland (with the mushy salmon), and the black dragon roll was the only half-decent roll, but still super skimpy with the eel on top. The sesame chicken was reminiscent of frozen costco chicken that you bake and coat with sauce after- nostalgic, but definitely not good- even Panda Express soars miles above. Perhaps the Thai food is the way to go here, but from the general quality of the foods we got, I'm glad if I'm not sick tomorrow. read more

This may explain why I could not erase the taste of the smoked salmon roll I ordered for my lunch. I tried drinking liquid, breath months, brushing my teeth, etc. Finally ended up puking my lunch after a while. And even after puking, my stomach is still turning. We'd also ordered steamed rolls with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was chunky, odd. And, we ordered salad with ginger dressing...the dressing was a weird color and tasted more like ranch mixed with something. That's not the ginger dressing one is accustomed to in asian restaurants. We both of Thai food but decided to go with something a little different since their menu was broader than most places we have been. I had the Korean Japchae - a glass noodle dish with vegetables and rib eye. I am not a noodle or beef person but this dish was delicious! The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were spectacular and the heat was spot on (you can choose your level). My husband had a Bulgogi Stir Fry that had a wonderful sauce making it the star of the dish. I ordered lunch from their lunch specials menu, a Panang Curry with Chicken. Spices here are ordered on a scale from 1 to 10 and believe me, 5 is *not* medium. I decided to stay safe and ordered a 3. It was still plenty hot and thankfully the rice helped to cool it down. The plate arrived fresh and hot from the kitchen. A scoop of white rice and a bowl filled with chicken and vegetables and curry. I didn't even try to be neat. I just mushed down the rice and poured the entire bowl of curry right on top. We were in the area and my wife wanted to order food for my birthday. It sucks there is no dine in anywhere but we had never tried this place and figured we give it a shot. I could not believe it when we ordered a bunch of stuff from here and the portion size of what we received. I thought it was a mistake. Attached is a picture of 5 rolls we ordered. 2 of the rolls seemed to be half rolls just to make it fit in the box. I've never been to a place that the portions were so miniature. We've been to sushi places all around Loudoun and for $15 you get a roll that is humongous. I just stared at the receipt for 5 minutes in shock. How the heck did the Chop Syick Roll for $13 come with 6 pieces. The bill was $120 in total and all we received were 2 small bags. It's just hard to understand when you pay that much and you are given 2 small bags. One containing just the small box of rolls and the other containing half full containers of food.
