We've ordered take out three times in the past couple months hoping for a decent quality. Unfortunately the food has been consistently overcooked, dry and bland. Specifically Singapore chow, Gen tso chicken & sweet/sour chicken. The chicken was so dry it was hard to swallow. We will not return and would not recommend this place. The food is pretty good....for what you can find in Winchester. Not authentic and very americanized but still good. I've came for the buffet with my family once... it was very small so it was easy to try almost everything. The hunan chicken was good but definitely not actual hunan...they dont seem to know what hunan is..I'd call it more like spicy honey chicken maybe? Anyway my biggest complaint is the receptionists who take the to go orders. Both take out experiences order has been wrong, one I caught prior to leaving, the other I did not. I dont have an accent or lisp so I'm not sure why they cant get my order correct. Employees seemed very whatever about it.. they corrected it but no apology given or any friendliness. Delicious and fresh! My husband and I had the Hong Kong noodles- definitely large enough to split. Started with crab rangoon. I had the Malice hard cider-also delicious- and on the dry side. Great Sunday buffet. The food was fresh and always hot. Nice selection of items, but not too many which is usually the cause of lackluster quality at other places. Sweet and sour chicken was particularly good. Nice crisp chicken. Hunan chicken was excellent as well. Broccoli in the beef and broccoli was nice and crunchy. Other great items too, but that's what I went back for the most. There is also some sushi on the buffet. Waiters and waitresses were American which is no problem at all. Just made it easier to communicate. They worked together as a team as well when it came to refilling drinks and clearing plates. This was a nice touch in case your normal server was busy. Dessert table is only available on Sunday and featured giant strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, chocolate sauce as well as other things like lemon squares and mini brownies among a few other items. Nice interior decor! Other past and present Chinese buffets in town were/are a little skeevy. Sunday lunch buffet is $11.50 for adults and $6.95 for kids at the time of this review. Drink's like sweet tea and soda are $2.00 Highly recommend and will certainly be back. read more

We just moved to Winchester less than 2 months and couple days ago we went for lunch buffet. I was not expecting that I will like every single dish on the buffet menu because usually you will just just find few dish you like but in Chinatown I tried a little of everything and I loved it and so is my husband ! Wednesday dinner buffet for the win! Admittedly, I've never been to Chinatown and actually ordered off the menu, so this is strictly my experience based on the buffet, but it really is fantastic. My husband and I have been here a handful of times and have had consistently good experiences. I normally wouldn't touch a buffet with a ten foot pole, but the Chinatown buffet seems particularly clean and is constantly refreshed. The price isn't terrible when you consider that you can also get soup (I'm a big fan of the egg drop) and dessert. The buffet selection doesn't seem to change very dramatically, but there's always some decent sushi (usually a California roll and one other) and an assortment of hot dishes. While not particularly Asian in any way, I'm a huge fan of their dessert table as well, which is always stoked with an assortment of delicious fresh fruit and berries, pastry type things, and delicious warm dipping chocolate. Service is usually decent, but can be slow at times. read more

I frequent the hell out of this place. The sushi is amazing, and the roll cuts are a reasonable size so you can actually fit them in your mouth. Every dish I, or any of my friends and family that are with me, have are large portions and full of flavor. The staff is awesome. Very friendly and will go out of their way to get a dish the way you want it. I have turned on MANY people to this restaurant and have made sushi lovers out of people that said they would never try it. This is the BEST Asian place around. It's called "China Town" but they have assorted Asian fare. Their sushi is great. Ask about their rolls that aren't on the menu. My favorite is the "Twisted Roll" which is spicy tuna roll topped with unagi. Sooo good! Also, the "Crispy Yummy" is amazing. My most favorite thing here is the "Hot and Sour Soup." When we lived an hour away, I would drive the hour just for this. Their crunchy egg noodles are house made and DELICIOUS. Also, their wonton soup is amazing too. The broth and wontons come packaged separately (which my husband LOVES because he never eats the wontons) and the wontons are light and flavorful. Not a bunch of noodle like other places. I have yet to try any of their Vietnamese or Thai food, but I will the next time I go. Definitely try this place out!! It's one of my favorites! read more

Great Asian food and sushi. A really good find in Winchester.

My husband and I are traveling through to get to NYS and staying in town. We picked this restaurant because it was easy walking distance from the Aloft hotel where we are staying. Chinatown Restaurant was DELICIOUS. They have a large menu including sushi and Thai and Chinese food. We loved this so much we went two nights in a row. First night was the Wednesday buffet. Everything was fresh and nothing we had was greasy. Excellent quality, which can be difficult on a buffet. The sushi was simple and fresh and very tasty! Second night we ordered off the menu. Again, quality was excellent. My meal was spicy and my husband's wasn't. Both were done with a ton of flavor. Top Buffet in the area. I have been eating at Chinatown for over 12 years. My review is a long history of eating there at least once a week. Chinatown is the first place we bring clients from work and it is always enjoyed by everyone we take there. The food on the buffet is always fresh and they keep it coming out. The worst that happens is they run out of plates because it is so good the place is packed. The menu if you go there at night is vast and the food is great. I am not a fan of sushi but all of the people I go out with say the sushi here is very good. The staff work as a team and are always willing to get you something to drink even if they are not your server. The owner changes the decor about every other year to keep things fresh. read more

Just went here last weekend and it was awful. First of all don't try to do Chinese if you can't do it. The sweet and sour chicken sauce was brown and tasted like rotten sewage. I even tried the Bol Gol Gi it was full of fatty chewy pieces. Pretty inedible. The Kim chi that came with it was flavorless. I have been here once before and it wasn't as bad. Not sure what happened. Not to mention they totally forgot our order of crab rangoon. Won't be coming back again. I want to like you. Having heard quite a few good things about this place we decided to check it out. The decor was a lot more upscale than I had anticipated. The prices seemed well marked for the ambience and the food. Everyone was pleased with their dinners. The service was a little slow at first, but it was very friendly. I'll certainly be back here to explore some more of the menu. If your looking for quality Asian Cuisine, Chinatown is the place! All these years living in Winchester, I've just recently started to visit, and I was wowed! It's been a while since I did a review. Not because I have not gone out to eat...nothing has sparked my palate until now. First the drinks. Try them all. The Banana Banshee, Yuzu, Zombie and Thai Basil Mojito are all winners but get the Lotus. Please try the Lotus. For appetizers the fried dumplings and tempura shrimp are also winners. I usually stay away from fried foods but some how they have perfected frying lightly. First time ever I was able to enjoy fried food without it feeling heavy. Now for the entrees. Hats off to the chefs. OMG. The Seafood Imperial was exactly how it sounds. Fit for a king. I have never EVA had food so moist and cooked to perfection. I also kept on eating my other half's Cantonese Fried Noodles. The sauces for both must be a family secret. Heaven. Again...the meat and chicken was moist. Even the fried rice was moist and fried rice is never moist. Who does that...I know who...Chinatown. I was full after dinner and did not care. Why? Because I had toasted coconut ice cream. I kept asking the staff if I could sleep here...I was not kidding. I saved the best for last...the service. From the hostess, to the bartender, to our waiters...outstanding. read more

Food was awesome when we ordered togo last time! We ordered General Tso's Chicken and Sushi! Tonight, We are dining in for first time. We hardly ever dine any where but we totally thought this place was worth it! And it totally is!! The staff is always friendly! We love how they have a variety of different kinds of food from korean to vietnamese! They've even got KIMCHI and Thats hard to find in this area! Our Bul Gol Gi was served sizzling on the hotpot as theyd do at other korean restaurants, and the rice came in the original stainless steel bowls. Lil details count also. Everything is on point, absolutely delish! Cant say enough great things about this place! Atmosphere is nice and comfortable as you can go in there casual or dressed up either way. Arguably the best Chinese food in Winchester. An all you can eat buffet lunch for just 11.95?!? Might make sense if this was your normal fried food/sweet and sour cardboard buffet. But it is not! I have no idea how this place makes money! Hot and sour soup is a meal unto itself. Clean flavors and no gloppy cornstarch to over thicken it. Lots of tofu and no skimping on the mushrooms. Best hot and sour I've had in years. More than a dozen items on the buffet. All fantastic and fresh. Lots of meat in each dish. Curry was fantastic and basil chicken authentic. Definitely pan Asian running from Chinese to Japanese to Thai. Egg rolls were a surprise. More meat than veg and crisp, not oily. Sushi is probably the weakest item and that is just because I would rate it 4 out of 5 for being very good but mainstream - California and shrimp tempura rolls. Service is very attentive. And the restaurant is clean and feels new. We will be back. read more

First time in...referred by a friend. Interesting menu with a mix of Asian foods. We had soups-the hot&sour was pretty good. The spicy tuna roll was okay, not the best I've ever had but for the price...the lo mein was good, twice cooked pork was tasty, shrimp w/lobster sauce was...eh so so.
