The most tasty sweet and sour chicken!

I give this clean and nicely decorated restaurant a big "5"! The food is extremely fresh, not kept under a warming light. It's brought to your table fresh from the kitchen!! The couple that run it and cook the food are super sweet!! They make you feel very welcome! We will definitely be going there again!!

Second try is what we ordered...

No joy in Wheat/Cow Town for this fam. We were excited to try the re-opening of Chinese Gardens, after the nice family who cooked here left to open Chef Lu's on the South Hill. Hoping to meet a new family, we were greeted by the same folks who ran this place before the last couple. As effusive and friendly the patriarch of this crew is (God Bless him), the food is even worse this time around... It took forever to get the 'right' food we ordered--and when the whole family is there and chatting--that's not too big of a deal, but an hour and a half is a bit of a letdown to get your entrees. Some of the experience was quite laughable. Ordered Pan Fried Dumplings as an app, and 30 minutes later got steamed ones. Thankfully, when I mentioned what our order was, a couple in a booth right by us said, 'We'll take those!,' probably because they were waiting longer than we were. Agonizing minutes later, enough time for my son to run to the Middle School to grab his sister from a field trip (we did not expect her to dine with us), we got our meals... My flavorless Egg Fu Yong was so full of shredded hash browns, that they crunched. C'Mon....eggs aren't that expensive. My wife ordered shrimp & veg, and got a plate of imitation crab, bay scallops, veg, and some shrimp. She was hungry and said, screw it. I had a scallop, and I kid you not, it tasted like I had a bite of ammonia. Our gal hostess/waitress was a sweetie, and indeed, we recognized her from when she was a kid working here with the family years ago. We were not going to embarrass her any further, or create a quiet scene... Here's the crazy thing: ketchup. Pretty much every meal, and the Rangoon app, came with ketchup. Ketchup! Sadly, there are no 'kinks' to work out here because it's recently re-opened. They ran this place for years, and it's pretty much a mirror image of the past. It was full of seniors from the farms around town, and I guess they will be happier with this fare, and will help to keep these guys open. As far as our family is concerned, it's a one and done. The Cheney food scene just took an 'ugghh' step backwards...

Spicy beef with hot garlic sauce

The sign outside says Chinese Garden Restaurant but once your seated and have a menu you notice they are actually Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisines. I had been craving something spicy and wanted to give them a try, so we headed off to give them a try. It was a Monday afternoon, only a few people in the place, we were seated right away. After checking out the menu, I went with an order of crab wontons, and my mom ordered some prawns in honey walnut sauce. The prawns, though they were cooked to perfection, had too much of a fine walnut coating for me, it was a texture thing, it was kind of like eating sand with prawns, but the honey glaze was delsih! But that was just me, my mom loved them! The crab wontons were handmade and fresh, those babies were great! For my dish I ordered the spicy beef with hot garlic sauce at a level 4 heat, ive never been and wasn't sure how their hotness level was, but for me the level 4 was good, I just asked for more chili paste and I was good to go! The dish was perfect, everything cooked to perfection, before I knew it was gone, Service was great, and after being there the place started to fill up. If in the area and craving some Chinese, Japanese and Thai food, give this place a try! I know I'll be back!

Very disappointed. Mongolian beef was chewy meat and brown gravy. The service was good.

Food was bland and had no flavor! I paid $14 and was not impressed at all. Rather go to china buffet for better food for cheap

Went here once, the food was disgusting. The quality was equal to that of a cheap microwaveable dish.

The…read morefried rice is honestly some of the best around -- it's always flavorful and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, which makes it even more enjoyable. We also love the almond chicken and the lo-main noodles -- both are always delicious and consistently good. Another thing I really appreciate is that when we order to go, the food is always packaged well and never spills out of the containers. and I prefer the box instead of the back so that comes really handy. The restaurant is always clean and well put together, which makes the whole experience even better. Great food, great portions, and a welcoming place we definitely recommend! Great job guys... :)

We ordered the Vegetable Delight (stir-fry), Chicken Ho Fen, and Popcorn Chicken. Everything was delicious, and there was more than enough food to feed three people. For drinks, we got the Strawberry Matcha (without the foam), Oolong Black Tea with Sea Salt Foam, and Okinawa Milk Tea. Even after choosing "less sugar," the drinks were still a bit too sweet for my taste. The boba was also a little too cold and firm, which is why I'm docking one star. Next time, I'd probably order them with no sugar and give the boba another try. Overall, I really enjoyed dining here and would definitely come back!

The ambiance is actually pretty cool though there's a big fish tank that my kids were obsessed with. They had Oscars in there, which was awesome to see because my brother used to have those. Brought back memories. There's also this setup that looked like smoke slowly creeping out of it, which added a nice touch. Food-wise, I'll give them this: hot food was hot, cold food was cold. That matters. But a lot of it leaned really salty. Our waiter was patient and kind, which goes a long way especially with kids. Mine had a great time and got to try foods they've never had before, so that's a win. Yeah, some things were a bit sticky but that's pretty standard for buffets. We went at dinner time. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either kind of middle of the road. That said, I really liked their little gift shop I'd come back just for that.

However, the food unfortunately missed the mark in many places. All fried options we tried, tasted as if the fry oil had been reused for some time. The Fried rice and Chow Mein had very little flavor and was overcome with the same oil taste. The meats were okay but some lacked moisture and were quite dry. As for the Sweets, they were poorly labeled and very overly sweet! The sushi all had a chemical lingering taste and did not appear to have been freshly made. The shrimp unfortunately appeared to not have been properly cleaned and deveined prior to cooking. The establishment was fairly clean, yet tables were sticky. Pricing for a buffet was not bad at $15/person for lunch, yet we would not choose to return to this establishment.
