You see all this videos of carnival rides falling apart and failing and it's super scary!!! OMG!!! Our friends invited us to this carnival. Otherwise we wouldn't have known about it. I said yes because my son wanted to hang with his buddy. We went on Sat around 4pm and it was a great time to go. It was just kicking off and there lots of people but not crazy. We went to the ticket booth to get tickets. Tickets estimated at $1.50/ticket and the rides were 3-5 tickets, pending on the ride. Tickets range from the following: 1 ticket - $1.50 20 tickets - $25 56 tickets - $65 Unlimited Ride Wristband - $35 Needless to say, we opted for the $35 unlimited rides wristband. Was it worth it? Meh. The kids had fun running around and riding the rides they were able to ride due to height limits or ones that weren't too scary for their age. They offered food/drinks around the carnival where you could pay cash/card. If you got food/drinks in the food court area inside Catholic School, then you had to buy food/drink tickets only. Prices weren't bad. All in all, it's a small carnival. Kids enjoyed it and had fun. Some of the rides and operators were questionable. But apparently this is where all the kids wanted to hang out this past weekend. We left around 6:30pm and at that point, it got super busy!!! The lines to the ticket booths were 20-30 people deep with 3-4 separate lines. When I came at 4pm, there were only 4-6 people total in line. Huge difference. The lines for the rides got crazy too. We came at a perfect time.

It's shocking that a family-oriented event would need such a heavy police presence just to maintain control. From the look of it seems to take the entire Davie PD to keep things under control, and even then, it doesn't feel like enough. I counted at least 40-50 Officers. Honestly, it's surprising something serious hasn't happened yet. It's sad to see what this once enjoyable event has turned into.

The things we love about the Florida Renaissance Festival is you feel like you've been lifted out of this regular world into a whole new place and everybody makes that happen that works there. The beautiful ambience of the park the decor all around, the awesome artworks that people create, the costumes. The music is one of my all-time favorites. It's part of the reason why I come here every year. Also you can try so many different types of foods that's always so exciting. I love dressing up, wearing costumes and walking through the park talking with other like-minded people. We enjoyed so many shows this year from the Washing Well Winches, to the guy playing the Bells, all the different Irish bands, like Celtic mayhem, one of my favorites is the band from Italy Rota they are awesome especially when they play in the street and we can dance all around so fun. I saw medieval characters, gladiators & knights, pirates, fairies and nymphs, even a wizard! And of course with a costume contest. Quiet Waters Park was converted into a story book. Unique performances with music, comedy, drama, juggling dancing and with interaction like the Maypole. Also jousting and horsriding competitions and cannon & trebuchet firing.There was Archery, Axe throwing, a maze, sword fighting and instruction, cobbling, jewelry making. A variety of activities for kids as well as adults. Especially adults who want to be kids...like me! Lol Souvenir shops with items that you don't see every day, like a dragon egg candle that once melted reveals a baby dragon just like in Game of Thrones! Also good food and drinks throughout the park. I didn't think I would spend that much time here but I spent the entire day practically without even realizing time had passed! A great time to immerse yourself in a world of fantasy, merriment & amazement! I truly enjoyed everything here!

Flamingo Gardens is one of our favorite places in South Florida. Honestly, I'd even call it a…read morepeacock garden because there are so many of them wandering freely throughout the property. I especially love visiting during the winter months when the weather is cooler. It's the perfect time to slow down, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and have a little picnic with the kids. There are plenty of peaceful spots to sit, relax, and watch the peacocks walking around. The grounds are always clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. When you buy your tickets, you can also purchase bird food. We fed both the flamingos and the peacocks, and while it was a fun experience, here's my little tip--don't feed the peacocks from your hand unless you're ready for a pretty strong peck! I learned that one the hard way. There is also a small café, guided tram tours, and on weekends they often have live music, especially in the evenings or during holiday events. Around Christmas, the gardens are beautifully decorated with lights, making the whole place feel even more magical. If you're looking for a relaxing day surrounded by nature, Flamingo Gardens is definitely worth a visit.

The tram runs every thirty mins, definitely suggest taking that- learned all about the park via tour guide. Upon checking in, there are bags of animal food for purchase. So fun for the kids to engage with the flamingos etc. The animals who are roaming free aren't actually part of the garden, they are wild. So get ready to see some amazing ducks, flamingos and peacocks roaming around. We loved seeing all the different birds, alligators etc.

The exhibit is whole was really interesting. We spent a lot of time there. One aspect I didn't like was that you have to scan your finger print with your name to make an "avatar" to activate some of the activities. I don't like giving my finger prints or my sons when we don't know what will be done with that information after the exhibit ends so some of the activities we couldn't do. And for the ones we could do some of them were broken. Still had a lot of fun in this exhibit. Highly interactive. Ends September 7 2026 A lot of the permanent exhibits were the same at 2020 which was cool to see my son interact and compare it to how he was as a babe. Again some of the exhibits were under maintenance but it didn't stop us from having a good time. My son loved observing the baby gators and learning more about them and some of the other Florida wildlife. The outdoor exhibit was interesting but some of the instruments/activities were metal and were HOT from the sun. Still nice to get a little sun and lots of shade. There was a good crowd but not too crowded Only critique is that there were two lines for tickets but nothing that designated what line was for what so a lot of people were in the member services line when we just wanted general admission. Other than that it was a great experience. There's parking right across the street in the garage and there's a bunch of restaurants to walk to nearby including a really cute restaurant next door called Emily's garden to get lunch and gelato. Highly suggest bringing refillable water bottles. You'll be in there for about 2-3 hrs if you take your time in each exhibit. My nephew loved the iMAX movie Wild Asia (It was really well done.), the wind simulator and the airplane section. Unfortunately, a lot of the simulators didn't work so he was a bit disappointed. He still liked climbing in the planes. He also liked seeing the big thing at the front with the balls going through the thing that looked like a Ferris wheel. I loved the hockey exhibit. It was really well done and was neat to learn the history of hockey especially the Stanley Cup. Being from Pittsburgh, I loved seeing Sydney Crosby represented in the players area. It was also neat to see the skates, puck and sticks evolve over time. If you have kids (especially if they love science and now sports while the hockey exhibit) definitely come visit.

The Seminoles were the only Native American tribe never to sign a peace treaty with the US government so they are called The Unconquered People. They come from a small band of around 200 people led by Sam Jones who helped them to hide out in the Everglades to avoid capture by the US government in the early 1800's to a Hard Rock empire with more than 500 million dollars a year in gambling profits from their casinos today. Today was the last day of the first annual 3 day Seminole Pow Wow Market Place held on the grounds of the Seminole Okalee Museum in Hollywood. This was my first time visiting the museum and I was impressed with the festival grounds and how nice the event was. The festival included animal shows, Native dances and drums, jewelry, art, and cloth vendors, and food including the highly touted fry bread. I got to see the Osceola Warrior Legacy who performed a demonstration of how Seminole women fought. I also saw the fantastic Iron Horse Dancers in their colorful regalia. Their presentation was amazing and I learned so much about the different dances. The final performance I caught was the animal show. Snakes and a vulture were shown but the show stopper was the alligator wrestling. The history of alligator was explained before the show. After the Seminoles were forced deep into the Everglades they had to learn how to survive and part of that included being able to handle alligators by themselves. Several ways to take down an alligator were demonstrated. During the last part of the performance Justin narrowly missed having his hand snapped off. I enjoyed all of the craft booths, food, and especially the performances. Entrance to the event was completely free but I took a few things home with me, I had so much fun and I look forward to returning next year.

My friend got free tickets to this event via Facebook so we were invited to join them. The is the…read morefirst year they did this type of event. It's an up and coming area, they're trying to mirror Miami's art district, Wynwood. Certain parts of this area can be seedy; however, it appears that gentrification is happening as I type this. There's high rise apartments and condos going up around this neighborhood, Flagler Village. Thankfully, we took an Uber to this event because parking was nonexistent. When we walked in, we saw lots of vendors selling their artwork and various of other items. There was a soda stand, candle stand, outdoor bars, and art galleries. There was a D.J. playing some beats. My favorite section was the food truck section. There were dozens of food trucks and so many to choose from; unfortunately, we just ate so I wasn't hungry for any of the delectable array of options. We were only there for an hour; walked around and scoped the art. It appeared they had a good turn out, lots of people and children there. Hopefully they'll do another event soon to expose this area and great artists.
