The root canal was done on a tooth under an existing bridge, which required great skill, and the procedure went smoothly with minimal discomfort. My mother also had a root canal on a wisdom tooth on one side. Dr. Chen handled it with great care, and her recovery was smooth. For my actual treatment, I worked with Dr. Han. I was very pleased with my experience with her. I asked a lot of questions and she took her time to answer them thoroughly so that i was comfortable and knowledgeable. Sometimes when i ask questions , people get offended as if im questioning their work but she did not get that way at all. she understood that i was interested in what was going on with my health and didnt rush through it. this made me feel so much better . I asked her to numb me slowly and she did. at other places i sometimes get a little anxious after the lidocaine but here i did great. Throughout the treatment they made sure I was ok and went at my pace if i needed breaks. after getting my 2 root canals I am doing well. So far i believe the work done was good. thank you Dr. Han. the only thing that made me a little uncomfortable was that I wanted to use my own glasses as eye protection rather than the ones they provide. but the assistant shined a bright light in my face so that i would change my mind . they never used that light at my previous appointment and they didn't use it at my second appointment either . he only used it for 5 minutes until i changed my mind and i didn't like that. Since December of last year, I've had some tooth sensitivity to hot and cold foods and drinks in my…read moreupper right jaw. Since I get regular cleanings and checkups on my teeth, I didn't think much of it until I started feeling some incredibly intense jaw pain all of a sudden early summer, and for a more than a couple of weeks, I relied on Advil, soft foods at room temperature, and late night video game binges to distract me from the immense discomfort I was going through. I was eventually referred to by my dentist to Valley Green Endodontics and boy am I glad he did. There appeared to be a hard to spot (even by x-ray) hairline crack in a tooth that was found only by removing the filling...and thus the root canal proceeded thereafter. Now, I gotta admit I am terrified of having any work done on my teeth due to - I get incredibly anxious feeling trapped in the chair with the sound of a drill going on. But I was lucky enough to get Dr. Chun, who is as kind and reassuring as she is really knowledgeable as well as super skilled and steady with her tools. She communicated well with me what would happen each step of the way and I felt absolutely no discomfort whatsoever throughout the entire process. Her assistant was also incredible as well. The rest of staff was incredibly nice and easy to talk to and I was happy that my pain - as well as any very mild swelling due to the root canal that happened - subsided pretty quickly. I do need to note although insurance covered a good portion of the root canal, it did not cover the Gentle Wave treatment, which I still thought was worth it for the more thorough cleaning. Thankfully my dentist office referred me to Upland Endodontix. I thought I had to call them but to my surprise I received a call from the best front desk team, Ashley and later Alexis. They scheduled me for 3 PM originally. They were already booked and I was a referral. I told Ashley I was in so much so if they had a cancellation please call me. I hung up and wondered how I could make it until 3 PM, it was 8:30 AM. I prayed for strength to endure the pain until then and 5 minutes later I received a call back from Alexis telling she mentioned my pain to Dr. Byun who is God sent and he told me to come in immediately. When I walked in I was greeted by the epic duo team Ashley and Alexis. Savannah came and greeted me just as I sat down. She took me back to the room and took X-rays. She was extremely gentle as she manuevered the machine. Dr. Byun walked in afterwards and asked me about my pain. His bedside manners are awesome. He listened intently and proceeded to trouble shoot to find the root of the problem. Ironically I had to get a root canal. Between Dr. Byun and Savannah, the procedure was expertly performed. Instead of discussing the treatment plan with me--the adult accompanying my 16-year-old son--Dr. Patel directed the conversation primarily toward my son, which I found inappropriate and unprofessional. As a parent, I expect to be fully included in medical decisions involving my child. There was also confusion and inconsistency regarding insurance. When I initially provided my insurance information, I was told certain procedures wouldn't be covered. Later, when my husband mentioned his insurance, Maria suddenly changed her tone and said, "Oh, I should have known that, that's much better." The lack of clarity and professionalism in handling insurance was concerning. Overall, the atmosphere of the office was not welcoming or comforting. While I might have been able to overlook a rude front desk interaction, the experience with Dr. Patel left a lasting negative impression. If I'm made to feel like an inconvenience as a patient, I'd much rather take my business elsewhere--and that's exactly what I plan to do.
