My pup had a stone that took up 50% of her bladder. She was having a very difficult time urinating. I made an appointment with Dr. Hill for a second opinion. Unlike the first vet, Dr. Hill explained in detail the reason for the formation of the stone(s), how it will be treated, and how to avoid formation of future stone(s) with her diet. After the consultation, the assistant gave me a quote for the surgery and it was less than half the cost of the 1st vet. The BEST part, I picked up my dog 4.5 hours after the surgery, no cone was needed, the suture was beautifully done, she walked out of her cage I transported her in, she went and laid down in my bed, and she slept. She was very uncomfortable on Saturday, but by Sunday evening, I kid you not, she walked around like she didn't even have her surgery. By Tuesday, she was behaving completely herself, and wanted to go on her walks.... just an AMAZING recovery. Dr. Hill, THANK YOU so much for your kindness and compassion shown to me and my dog. May you and your family always be blessed with good health!!!

10/10 would recommend! I was looking to get my dog spayed and asked a few diff places that all ended up giving me a quote between $800-$1k My friend actually recommended me here after she had a good experience with her two male dogs' neuter. The spay in total costed $268 with a round of antibiotics. So thankful for Dr. Hill and the rest of the staff! All my questions and concerns were answered swiftly - overall upstanding service :)

Our 13 year old Weimaraner was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor and we came to Dr. Hill for a second opinion. He was so caring, empathetic and honest about our fur babies prognosis. When your fur baby is in their final stages of life it takes a special kind of doctor to meet the family in the moment. I've been to other vet doctors who have treated their patients as a number but not Dr. Hill. He has a special gift and we are fortunate to have found him. I'll be switching our other pets to see Dr. Hill. He is 1000% highly recommended.

Buddy is happy with Dr. Hill.

We have two dogs and didn't even know which one ate it. After a quick panic Google session and seeing grapes are a big no for dogs, we rushed the dog we thought did it to this vet since they were open late. We called while driving to explain the situation, and by the time my husband got there, they were already ready for him. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and genuinely concerned about our dog. A few minutes later, my husband started second-guessing and thought maybe it was actually our other dog. We told the front desk, and they said it would probably be best to bring the second dog too just to be safe. Once I got there with the other dog, we suddenly remembered we have baby monitors and cameras all over the house. We asked if we could check the footage to figure out which dog actually ate the grape. At this point, they had already checked both dogs in. One of the vet techs or nurses came in while we were watching the video and just stood there quietly. I looked up and she said, "That's totally fine, I can wait until you figure out which one it was and we'll start with that dog." She waited patiently for about 15 minutes. No rushing us, no attitude, nothing. I was honestly blown away. I have never experienced that level of patience or understanding at a vet before. We reviewed the footage and confirmed it was the original dog we brought in. When I went back to the front desk and told them the other dog didn't eat anything, they immediately said not to worry and that they wouldn't charge us for the second dog at all. Again, shock. Every vet we've ever gone to would have charged for literally anything they could. This place just cared about the dog and the situation. When we finally saw the vet, he explained everything clearly. They needed to induce vomiting and explained worst-case scenarios, including charcoal and follow-up blood work if they didn't see the grape. They took him to the back, and within minutes came back and told us he threw up the grape whole. Since it wasn't digested, no charcoal or extra treatments were needed. They could have easily pushed more tests or treatments, but they didn't. That honesty meant a lot to us, especially because we had a past emergency at a highly rated pet hospital where they ran a bunch of unnecessary tests and told us our dog had something totally unrelated based on an X-ray. Later, friends of ours who are human physicians said that diagnosis would have been nearly impossible without an ultrasound, which made it pretty clear we were being hustled. We don't currently have a regular vet because we've been bouncing around trying to find one we trust, but after this experience, I'm really glad to say we finally found one. I wish I remembered the names of the vet and staff who helped us, but we'll absolutely be back for routine visits and any future emergencies (hopefully there are none lol).

Lately, I have been receiving a lot of "reminders" for a wellness exam through text and email from this office. My dogs go to Country Animal Clinic for their vaccines and wellness checks. Today, I got a call from a lady saying that in order for them to see my dogs, they had to have an updated wellness check with their office. I explained to her the situation and that my dogs went there for gland expression and emergencies only. She said the wellness check was a requirement for their office to do gland expression, nail trimming, and tick and flee treatments. I asked her if she wanted to lose my business because I can't afford to pay to veterinary doctors at the same time. She just stayed quiet on the phone and then repeated it (wellness check) was a requirement. When I have taken my dogs to Petco for a nail trimming, they only require me to show they have their rabies shot once a year or every 3 years. They input the information in the system for future visits. If you don't have the vaccination paperwork, they contact the veterinary office. I was really happy with the way they treated my dogs but received tons of emails and texts reminding me of a wellness check. It turned annoying. Today's call was the last drop. This lady said they would not do any services unless I accepted to pay for a wellness check there and would not accept any wellness check from another office. She said legally they had to require for the wellness check. I don't know if it is true, if so, they had been doing gland expressions on one of my dogs illegally from May to November (when she had an emergency visit for a paw). Basically, stick to your doctors. I feel cheated by their smiles and apparent care for my dogs. They only want the MONEY! Whoever called me today, should be working at a collections office and not at a vet. I had read their negative reviews and did not believe them because we had a good experience. I'm so disappointed with this vet's office.

Jax had a long history of worsening mobility problems, limping, weakness, pain, trouble standing, and documented masses. In 2024, a cytology sample from a mass came back limited/nondiagnostic, but I was never made to understand that this meant a serious tumor process had not actually been ruled out. Later, Jax underwent surgery for removal of masses, and I eventually learned there was "no way to know" what those masses actually were because definitive histopathology was never completed. Over time, the records continued documenting concerning findings including suspected neoplasia/mass, worsening hind limb weakness, enlarged lymph nodes, mobility decline, and progressive pain. In August 2025, abdominal and hind limb X-rays were performed while Jax was already struggling with worsening weakness and mobility decline. Looking back now, I seriously question whether the underlying tumor process was adequately recognized or escalated at that point. In November 2025, Jax became extremely sick and weak. A lot of the focus appeared directed toward suspected pancreatitis and diabetes management. After seeking a second opinion, another veterinarian documented severe pelvic limb weakness, muscle wasting, neurologic decline, and a large femoral mass. The veterinarian who later performed Jax's euthanasia documented massive tumor-related swelling involving his left pelvic limb and concern for neoplastic disease including possible nerve sheath tumor or sarcoma. What completely haunts me is how Jax died. During his final days, my dog was crying in pain, struggling to move, and suffering in ways I will never forget for the rest of my life. I had to make the devastating decision to euthanize him at home because his condition had progressed so severely that he could no longer walk without suffering. After another veterinarian questioned aspects of the treatment approach and documented the large mass findings, I've requested a refund and tried to get answers regarding how Jax's condition progressed to such a severe state. I never received meaningful clarification from Dr. Dunbar. I have since submitted a Veterinary Medical Board complaint along with supporting medical records, imaging, second-opinion evaluations, and euthanasia documentation for review. Please advocate hard for your pets, request copies of every diagnostic report, and seek second opinions early if something does not feel right.

My pet was very ill, and this was an incredibly stressful time for my family. Unfortunately, instead of receiving compassionate and professional care, we encountered staff who came across as dismissive, condescending, and unnecessarily aggressive in their interactions. When families are worried about a sick pet, empathy should be the standard. At our visit, blood work and a urinalysis were ordered, and I was instructed to return a fecal sample separately. We expected to receive a call with the blood work and urinalysis results, but no one contacted us. Instead, we had to call the clinic ourselves. When we requested copies of the laboratory reports, we were told they would not be emailed until the veterinarian reviewed the results with us. That review never happened. We requested that both our veterinarian and the clinic veterinarian discuss the results with us, but neither occurred. We also requested the reports be sent to a second email address, but that request was never fulfilled. Six days later, I went to the clinic in person to obtain printed copies of the results. At that point, I discovered there was no urinalysis report. I was told the laboratory had discarded the sample. However, the laboratory paperwork indicated the urinalysis was performed in-house, which directly conflicted with what I was told. To this day, I still do not understand whether the urinalysis was ever completed. The clinic offered a $30 refund for the urinalysis, even though I had originally been told the test cost $60. This only added to my confusion and concerns. My greatest disappointment is that my very sick pet endured additional stress without us receiving timely communication, complete testing, or clear explanations. I left feeling that communication, recordkeeping, and customer care were seriously lacking. I hope the clinic improves its communication, professionalism, and compassion because pet owners deserve clear information and respectful treatment when making difficult medical decisions for beloved furbabies.

She started to sneeze a lot yesterday and it looked like she was trying to get something out of it. Since our regular vet didn't have any appointments, I scheduled a same day visit at Grand Animal Hospital. The doctor (an Indian female, though she never introduced herself or gave her name) examined my dog very briefly which literally just a couple of seconds and said she wanted to order an X-ray and bloodwork to check her white blood cell count. I asked if she could check inside my dog's nose for a possible foreign object. She said she couldn't because it would require putting my dog under anesthesia. I then asked if an X-ray would show a foreign body, and she told me no, it would only show structural issues, which was not my main concern. However, shortly after, she contradicted herself and said the X-ray could show a foreign object. She also said the bloodwork would show inflammation, but my dog's nose was already visibly swollen inside and bleeding, so inflammation was obvious. When I tried to explain that the inside of her nose looked swollen, she interrupted me and said, "there is no swelling, everything looks normal," without even properly examining her. My dog is a Pomeranian with Alopecia X (hair loss), which is a very common condition in this breed. When the doctor saw my dog has no hair, she looked suprised. The doctor seemed unfamiliar with it and suggested my dog must be mixed, which is incorrect. I also mentioned that my dog has itchy skin on her sides, but the doctor ignored this concern and instead just said she didn't see any fleas, which makes no sense since my dog has almost no hair. At the end of the visit, she said a nurse would bring an estimate for the X-ray and bloodwork. When the estimate came out, there was an additional test for upper respiratory infection that the doctor had never mentioned. The total estimate was around $1100 for only x ray and 2 blood work. This is the most expensive hospital ever. Overall, I felt like the doctor did not listen to my concerns, did not perform a proper exam, and was more focused on ordering tests than addressing the actual issue. Because of this, my husband and I decided not to proceed with any of the recommended tests and left. Unfortunately, the visit still cost $59, which felt like a complete waste given the lack of care and knowledge. The nurse was nice and waiting time was quick.
