Went to Chip for ice cream. I understand that is not their main offering. I cannot remark on their cookies. The ice cream had hard butter-like lumps as if it was old and dried out. It was served as a pile of flakey pieces on a broken cone. Cheerful service. read more

Very disappointed with the cookies. I've been to a Chip in Utah 5 years back they were cooked perfectly and so yummy the next day. These unfortunately were not good even when I first got them. They tasted like they were over cooked and sitting for a couple of days in a warming tray. They were caramelized on the outside I was highly disappointed. Very good!!! Just tried it today for the first time since other cookie places have missed the mark and I was worried about spending money on bad cookies. Lol. I was very wrong!!! They were soooooo good. We cut each up into four pieces so we could try all of the flavors we chose. I kept saying, "Mmmm!! This one is good! Mmmm this one is good!! Mmmm this one is good!!!" The interior is well designed and clean. The service was top notch. Unfortunately the main event - the cookies are horrific. Clearly, they are all consistent with the baker's vision which I find results in cookies that are inedible. The cookies are large and thick. They are overstuffed with chips, nuts and whatever else. Today I popped into Chip after visiting another business. Wow, just wow. The General Manager was most helpful in suggesting the perfect cookie! The concept is, I think, like a pizza place if you consider getting a base cookie and adding toppings. The store is pretty simple, showcasing the toppings bar and menu. A small group was ahead of us placing their order. We couldn't really see what was going on due to that. The various cookies (and I guess, menus of suggested cookie combos?) are right where you order which is great, except it makes it hard to be ready to order when you get to the counter. The staff seemed super friendly and willing to explain. Basically you have several varieties of cookies that are the standard set menu and 1 flavor that changes each week. Then you have a choice of toppings, drizzles and frosting that you can add. It looks like you can even add ice cream? We got a box of 4 but opted not to add anything. It was honestly a bit overwhelming. The cookies themselves are ok. A bit doughy for our tastes. The weekly flavor, snickerdoodle was pretty good. The others, SW Chip, OG and something called Boneless (which seemed like a chocolate chip cookie but without the chocolate chips?) were really thick and doughy. We weren't super blown away. Price wise they are about the same as crumbl. Almost exactly. Crumbl has a slightly higher delivery fee, but otherwise it's a wash. I need to stress that the staff were very friendly and helpful. The store seemed really clean. But to me, the concept is too confusing and we just aren't sure it's our thing. The 4 stars is because the snickerdoodle was pretty tasty and the staff being great. The missing star is for confusing concept and overly doughy cookies. We will keep an eye on the rotating flavor, though, and may choose to go back if something catches our eye. read more

Like other people frustrated with the service, I had a bad experience. I like to earn points and girl at the counter 25 minutes ago said I could download app later and get points. False. There is nothing in the app to submit a receipt and no contact info on the company website. Concept is cool. Execution is awful. The ice cream cookie option is vanilla Haagen Daz? What a joke. Might as well use Breyers and cut costs better. The layout is painful, nowhere to really sit and eat. Staff are clueless about cookie options and varieties. They have no clue and I don't blame them, they are just kids, so maybe help your staff understand how to manage the products. And worst part is SW cookie is undercooked and tastes mediocre at best. I wish this place the best and take my comments constructively to succeed in the future. Lots of potential, but terrible opening. The owner should be here open to close managing and making sure this place survives bc it doesn't look great from my initial visit. Also my kids complained that the cookies didn't have any taste. Went there today for the first time. We told the person it was our first time. She said they have 4 favorites. After we bought the cookie my wife figured out you could buy a base cookie and put toppings on it almost like Chipotle. Hard to believe the people working there weren't better at explaining this. There were 4 people there and none were friendly or helpful. First experience was very poor. read more
