Unfortunately after today, I have to give the 1 star review. They were so poorly understaffed and the manager couldn't even come up to face the upset customers. There were only 3 employees that were dealing with in person orders (which the line was out the door), online orders, and doordash orders. I wasn't there very long, but you could just tell how frustrated everyone was. And at one point when the employee said he'll get the manager to cancel an order, he came back a few minutes later with a sticky note telling them to just call back later. Meaning the manager was in the back just not doing anything. I hope the owner or whoever is hire up gets a new manager for this place. I wasn't shocked with the overall review. read more

NEVER EVER PICK UP FROM THIS CHIPOTLE!!!!! i used to work at chipotle and i can tell you these people aren't doing their job right. the last few times i've ordered i had to wait 45 mins in store for something i ordered ahead of time. They are extremely rude and unhelpful. Whenever I come to the Apple Valley location there's a problem with the register. Either it's not taking cash or only taking online orders. Seems like there needs to be a new change in management because it's really frustrating going to this location. Ordered a steak salad (steak, lettuce, Pico, guac, fajita veggies) online and this is what I received. That's $10 worth of food according to the manager at Chipotle in Apple Valley. I was also told they follow strict portion sizes - that must include only 10 pieces of lettuce for a salad? The manager attempted to make it right by giving me an in-store meal credit so I guess I'll have to go back one more time. We have been eating here for years and live the food. Haven't been there recently with the pandemic. We went there last night with our masks on. When we got in there, there wasn't one person in there( other than employees) wearing a mask. What is wrong with you people?!? Chipotle- you need to enforce this. It was busy, but also my order which I placed on the app was SO far off it was laughable. Instead of Sofritas, I got chicken. There was no salsa, or beans or sour cream. There were several other online orders that started piling up and clearly one had already been there for a while. Seems pretty poorly managed. I don't even want to give it one star. I told myself I'd never go back but the new one in Apple Valley has now been closed the last tw/o times I went. I walk into the older one in AV and people standing around waiting for their online orders. I went to the counter and I was told they weren't taking orders, only doing online orders. PAY YOUR WORKERS AND GIVE THEM AN INCENTIVE TO WANT TO DO THE JOB!!! The lots are full and business are busy. Not Chipotle. Find out why and fix it. This is the second time in a row our pickup order has been wrong. We had to return the first time in order to get it fixed. Today, I checked the order before leaving. It was wrong so I spoke with the person at the counter. She actually argued with me! I didn't need reasons why the order was wrong. If you're training someone new, that person should be supervised and any problems corrected on the spot BEFORE I have to appeal to the staff to get it fixed. They were unwilling to fix it so I returned to my car. My wife then entered to the store. She requested to speak with the manager. After explaining that I had been treated poorly, that my order was missing 25% of the ingredients and those which were included were not portioned as usual (the bowl was mostly empty), Zach rudely replied that he could either remake it or refund it but he had to get back to work. Talk about dismissive! Overall, a horrible guest experience and our "quick pickup order" made us late for an important event. I have food allergies and Chipotle is one of the few places I can eat out. It's disappointing to be treated so poorly at my favorite place that I definitely have eaten at regularly for so long. I sure hope their staff training improves and includes how resolve errors which don't further alienate already upset customers. read more

Let me start off by saying that this location is extremely busy. Non-existent service adds to the very well deserved 1 star rating. The best advice I can give to you is order to go. Don't eat there! Why? Well, let's start off by the long lines and the talented crew that put the burritos or what not together. They are stingy with their proteins. I ordered half chicken and half barbacoa... I usually do half steak, half barbacoa but they ran out of steak!! Why you run out of steak when all I want is STEAK! When I finally got to make my own bowl, I chose to skip beans but the guy poured on some pinto beans and I'm like uhh! WTF? I told him to forget about it and pass my bowl along to the salsa stage. When I got to the cashier, I was rung up already and the girl didn't even ask me if I wanted a drink to go with my bowl. Like who doesn't want to make money or help the business make money?!? I had to beg for a drink. And then when I got to the soda stop, they ran out of ice, napkins and utensils. I saw this poor guy trying to stash everything all at once. It was not pretty. The station itself was trashed beyond belief. All I wanted was a damn bowl and I got many unwanted extras along with it. Don't get me wrong, I've had way better experience at other locations. We have been here many, many times, but I guess I am just getting around to writing a review. I personally do not love Chipotle, but my husband does, and so we are meeting in the middle with this review. My biggest issue is that the food seems inconsistent... sometimes good, and sometimes not. And, I always feel ill after eating here, so I think there is a spice or something that they use that does not agree with me. Plus, the line is always long (probably indicates a lot of people like Chipotle), and I just hate waiting that long... lol. read more

Having been to several Chipotles around the Twin Cities (and various cities around the U.S.), I hate to say it, but this is by far the worst I've experienced. Always long lines - not because there are so many people, but because the staff is slow compared to other Chipotles, and there is NO customer service, just take your card, swipe and give receipt, without so much as a glance in your direction, let alone a "Thank You for your business". The whole place looks as though it is in need of a thorough cleaning as well, which doesn't add much to my opinion of the restaurant. The last visit, however was the final straw. We tried to avoid the always-long line by ordering online, and not only was our order (5 burritos) wrong, but the burritos were simply numbered, rather than having names on them (which is what Chipotle usually does), so we had to physically unwrap and open up each burrito before we knew which one belonged to which member of our party (yuck), but when we asked to speak to the manager about it, she simply apologized and neglected to offer anything for our poor experience, not a free burrito, bag of chips, buy one-get-one voucher, nothing. In my opinion, when you've had a poor experience, especially after dropping $60 at a fast food restaurant, I'd appreciate something more than "I'm sorry", I'd prefer that the manager offer something to make it right. Chipotle is a favorite in my household, so I will order from the location nearest my workplace and pick it up on my way home in order to avoid the Apple Valley location from now on, as they seem to have their "act together" at that location, even during the busy lunch hour in a business district of Bloomington. read more

Let's just start off by my burrito order combination is the best. Chicken burrito with: White rice. No beans. Chicken. Hot sauce. Corn. Sour cream. Cheese. Lettuce. I love chipotle, the combinations of the ingredients work so well together (if you order correctly). I first started going to chipotle in high school, who would have thought I would enjoy it this much? I have always had excellent service and my burrito was always wrapped so nicely. It never looked like a "struggle burrito" until recently. It seems the apple valley location seems to have hired new people and they have no damn idea how to wrap a damn burrito. Not only do they wrap my burrito horribly, they never "hook" you up with enough food. They are slow, yes chipotle gets busy but there is NO NEED to have a line out the door at 8pm at night. Kills me every time I go because I'll be standing in line for 30 minutes to get a burrito that is just wrapped ugly. I just picked up the most botched order I have ever received from a Chipotle. One of our bowls was missing 3 items from it - they literally gave us a cold bowl of rice, cheese, quac, and lettuce - left out the meat, left out the veggies, left out the sauce. The Manager is dropping the ball here or something. It must be poor scheduling or not enough employees. If you order your food at a certain time, expect it to be 20+ minutes late. The two star isn't for the wait time alone. The restaurant is DISGUSTING inside. They have rubber gloves on the floor, garbage everywhere, and the floor is never mopped. The soda machine never gets refilled. I tried every soda option and all of them tasted like carbonated water except the lemonade. I refrained from writing a review until the opened back up again, but this place never got better. It's been over four months of bad experiences. By far the worst chipotle I've ever gone to. If you order online you can expect to wait at least an hour after your pick up time. While waiting every one is piled inside of the restaurant standing around waiting to be called. Definitely no social distancing going on there. Just a hot mess. Went here yesterday for a pick up/online order. My meal said it would be ready for 9:15PM. Went there around 9:25 meal still wasn't ready. Wait for about 20 min, the manager was up front and could tell myself and like 3 others were waiting but they just continue helping the line. when the line was completely done, the manager yells finally hey we have online orders (me learning that haven't even started my order), then one of the employees said their out of rice... I was like whatever but man the manager didn't even apologize or even really tell us how to get my money back lol. I had to go up to her and all she said was to call corporate. When you look online it's nearly impossible to get a number and a hold of someone. I'm out of my time, $25, and no food to show for it. I've been coming to this location for more than 10 yrs. it's just terrible. Burnsville is worth the drive at this point. This location will never improve. read more

This location is the absolute worst, it doesn't even deserve the 1 star..as a customer and as a door dasher..I waited in line for 25 minutes before i even got to order my food, they are so busy and have so many online orders along with people waiting in line and they don't have a separate food prep area to do only online orders like other locations..and to add to it the customer service is horrible, they can't even cut the quesadilla for you they make you do it with one of their plastic knives, other locations will cut it for you! read more

I do not understand how this place can provide such consistently slow service (I was in line for over 40 minutes tonight - I was shocked but I verified the wait length by time stamps on texts I sent my wife as progress updates) and still have a line out the door every night at dinner time. I visited on a Tuesday. The place is ridiculously loud -- had to SHOUT my order a few times, and then shout corrections as the workers either didn't hear me or simply didn't care. Food is average, a step up over most "fast"(er) food. When the lady slinging ingredients assembled my kids' tacos, she literally slopped the sour cream all over the OUTSIDE of the shells and then wrapped them all up together making a wet gooey mess. Unacceptable and unappetizing. I shouldn't have paid for those. It's not cheap, either. My bill for three entrees and nachos was over $27! There's a Mexican place less than a mile east of there (on 42) where you can sit down, get free nachos, and have far superior food delivered to your table much faster than I was served tonight, and for not that much more money even after tipping. With all the other superior dining options in Apple Valley, this will be the last time for a long time for my family at Chipotle. Speaking of tips, here's one for Chipotle: Staff up for dinner! The employees are SOOOO SLOW. Every time I order food from this restaurant online, it is ready at least 15 minutes late, EVERY TIME. In addition, the store tells you to go directly to the register to get your online order. I stand there for at least 5 minutes before someone even acknowledges me. This is unacceptable. I also deliver for door dash, and I am treated the same way when I try to pick up an order for a customer. I watch them prepare food for countless customers before even looking at the online orders. I am so fed up with how the employees here have no respect for their customers time. It's unfortunate that the food is so good, because I have to deal with this horrible service every time I enter the restaurant. Aside from everything I've said so far, half the time I order online, the food is prepared incorrectly. The food is the ONLY reason I go here. Chronically slow and, as a result, there is almost always a prolonged wait. While some of the staff have been kind, most appear overworked and under appreciated. They engage in the obviously deceptive practice of taking a normal spoon size of whatever you've asked for then tap it on the edge of the container until little remains. This is especially true for guacamole, which now costs $2.05. If you're going to charge that much I should be getting an avocados worth of guac, not the shot-glass sized amount often given. When I last asked for more guac than the small amount the gal was including, she remarked, "SO you want to pay for extra guac then?" I should not have to feel like I'm haggling just to get dinner.
