Okay so I'm gonna set things straight, the food is good like any other chipotle. Here's the thing. GIVE MORE FOOD! I just paid 17 dollars for a bowl and this is how much I got. Keep in mind I have not touched the meat or rice or beans. I simply moved the lettuce out of the way to show how little there is. 17 dollars and that BS "extra scoop" of chicken. Will never be getting chipotle again. If it's true what I heard about the CEO upping price and smaller portions then shame on you.

Smaller than a can of beer, we've got budget size portions at this location.

Consistently small portions and uncooked rice. Crunchy rice isn't my preference but it was an added surprise to the size of my burrito.

Portion sizes are tiny now, but the price keeps going up.

Management at this place must really be trying to cut costs. Burrito bowls used to be packed so full that guacamole would touch the aluminum cover. Now, my cover is bone dry. Literally received half a bowl for my pick up order, yet they had no problem charging full price. Oh, and they forgot half the items and added others that weren't on the order. This is the 3rd time In a row this placed has messed up

Brown guacamole! This is not appealing. This is what happens when you order on the app.

Expensive but tasty fast food. What isn't there to like? It's not gourmet, but it's pretty darn good!

From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, friendly, and incredibly efficient, checking in so often (perhaps too often) to make sure we were taken care of. He made us feel welcomed right away and kept everything running smoothly throughout our meal. As for the food, the birria tacos were amazing, packed with rich, flavorful meat and served with a delicious consommé dip for dunking. Every bite was better than the last. With Rodrigo's outstanding service, combined with the great food, this was easily a five-star visit. If you go, do yourself a favor and ask for Rodrigo, he'll take great care of you!!

The meat was not tender or chewy, and it didn't really taste like anything. The rice and refried beans were in surprisingly small portions, and the jalapeno wasn't very spicy either. I would say that the portions are ok for the price. Service: (4/5) Our server was mostly attentive and gave us a few recommendations from the menu. Water refills were sparse and far between. Ambiance: (5/5) There were a lot of decorations on the wall, and the bathroom was kept clean and maintained well.

Let's get that straight…read more The day we visited there was a live cattle auction happening in the same building which I thought was cool & added to the authentic country charm. If you were wondering, the smell of cows was NOT perceptible even by my extra good sniffer. Probably because of the auction, combined with great reviews - the place was packed with cowboys/girls & farmers along with a mix of other diners. Young, old, hip, not hip, all getting along in there. Wait staff was busy as could be, but kindly took our order & served our dishes while they were still piping hot which is a pet peeve when it's not. Menu had gluten free and vegetarian options which I didn't expect but did think was smart & I'll def try one of them next time I eat here. Lots of choices for everyone. Prices were the usual for this economy ($15+ person entree, excluding beverage or spendier stuff like steak). The place smelled like a good diner ought to: sizzling fragrance of thick bacon & burgers, scent of fresh coffee, toasted breads & perfectly cooked eggs. I ordered the Breakfast Torta, a SW twist on a bfast sammy - egg, bacon, tomato with gorgeous & plentiful avocado atop a thick smear of housemade refried beans. All packed into the freshest torta bread I've eaten anywhere. My husband had the chicken fried steak breakfast with crispy house potatoes. They serve Pepsi products so hubs had a big glass of chocolate milk (nice sized!) and I had water & a side of fruit. Golly! The portions were generous and whoever is cooking clearly knows what they're doing cause I could taste the love in every bite. (Even the bites of not-my-entree under the guise of needing to review his plate, too!). The chicken fried steak was perfectly seasoned, inside and out and the thickish gravy had a zest to it which really made the dish extra good. I was pleasantly surprised that the home fries were perfectly crisp. Usually it's the side dishes at many cafes that I find a real let down. Not here. Start to finish, everything was dinerliciously great. Five stars for executing country cafe food without cutting corners. Had enough to enjoy some for next days' lunch. It is a down home country cafe & deserves all the stars. Yeehaw!

The interior is visually congested, not in a bad way but with lots of decor, seating, movement areas and etc. It makes a feeling of the space being busy and distracting. I prefer calmer spaces but it's not terrible. Service was prompt, frequent and wonderful. An older woman came by and asked how we wanted salsa and made us a bowl which was INCREDIBLE! So savory, spicy, fresh and left me wanting more. (You get a certain amount salsa and chips per person than you gotta pay). It was literally perfect. We weren't super hungry and wanted to share, to us the serving was more than enough for two. We enjoyed a house rocks margarita, grilled steak fajitas with rice and beans, sides of sour cream and guacamole and also some chips and salsa. It was all very well made, came out steaming and was very satisfying. The space felt cold to me, but seemed fine to all else. So just a note there if you run on the warmer side. I don't know if they do reservations, but I would imagine on some nights it would be a good idea seeing as they seem very busy.

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

When he said Nico's, everyone got excited and when is Al's I had never had it, they told me I was in for a treat. They were right. I can still remember that burrito, as big as my forearm, stuffed with egg, potato, bacon and cheese. It was delicious to the last bite. I became a Nico's devotee from that moment forward. As I travelled the world, whenever I returned home to the Old Pueblo, stopping at Nico's became a ritual for me and my family. That's why this review is difficult to write. While the food is still tasty and the portions are sizable, the customer service was dreadful. Apparently my first mistake was to ask about the "Flying Saucer" which is the Thursday special. I was told that it's basically a chimichanga with an open tortilla. It comes in chicken or beef machaca. I asked which the employee prefers, and received a smart Alec response that their tastes are different from mine. My wife ordered a carne asada chimichanga, I ordered the chicken spaceship, my son ordered the chicken tacos. Our friendly attendant forgot to take the taco order and we had to pay for that separately. Apparently Nico's has adopted a pricing scheme where the displayed price is only for cash payment. A different price is charged for credit cards. This policy is explained with a small sign by the register. Nowhere does it explain the difference. Apparently credit cards negate the special. The attendant told me that Filiberto's does the same thing, when I asked about the difference in price of what was charged from what was on the menu. The funny thing is that I don't mind the surcharge. I resent the lack of transparency, and the rude behavior from the attendant. So, thanks for the memories. I don't need the attitude.
