You need to close this store. I haven't had a good experience here in 3 years. What a mistake coming back I hoped it would be better. Unfortunately this location is the closest to my home but also the worst. Stopped in to grab dinner to take home this evening and it was awful. The kitchen was a mess. Teenagers throwing food together. No organization. I was wondering where an adult or someone in charge was.. Dishes and food laying all over the kitchen and area where they prepare food. No one seemed to know or care what they were doing. I worked fast food in high school for several years. This has to be the worst chipotle I've ever been too. Last time I ordered, it was 2 hours in advance and when I got there to pick up my order, all they had left was salsa...what? They had ZERO online orders made. They charged my card, but didn't have any food made. I contacted chipotle and it took 45 minutes for a refund. I sent in a review about a year ago and I'm back. Last week ordered in store. The kids working there have no training in food service. The prep counter was disgusting: lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, beans all over the place. They don't even bother to wipe the prep counter! Food all over the floor. It's common sense people. One guy on grill, one guy making food and working the register at the same time and one woman pretending to put together pick up orders. Ok, so this evening I went online to order because my daughter and her friend like it. According to their web portal they are out of chicken, steak, onions and peppers. A complete joke. This chipotle needs new management ASAP. We have come here multiple times and the service is horrible. Tonight we came in at 8:15pm. There was 4 employees working with a line out the door. One employee was breaking down the cold line and cleaning it. One was in his phone in the kitchen cooking with no gloves on. One was doing pickup orders. The one poor girl was working her butt off trying to serve everyone in line. Where is the management here!? Each time I come in the staff is in serious need for direction. The health code is not being observed. Staff doesn't change gloves, hair is not pulled back, on cell phone in kitchen, and no hand washing. We literally just left. I ordered food with my husband and son. My food was made and I was waiting for hub/son to order theirs. The woman at the register said is this your food ? I replied yes it is. She then tells me a dollar amount and I said we are together and are paying together. She then gets an attitude, rolls her eyes, and proceeds to walk into the back. So we get the other food and are waiting for us to pay. One of the other young women comes over to cash us out since the other woman is still in the back. I asked one of the other young woman who the " woman was who was originally waiting on us at the register"? She proceeded to tell me that was their GM. I said you have got to be kidding. I see all these bad reviews and as someone who has previously worked in restaurant management, I can say with a lot of certainty that you need to look to management for this store. You can't expect staff to do the right thing when you have a GM being a jackass. Btw every single worker working this evening, was holding it down and going above and beyond . I stopped coming here because its trash, the employees are trash and if the store is this bad than higher up managers are obviously also trash, but unfortunately, my kids love the quesadillas, so I still let them come here once a week . Sage and Erica are the only 2 people who actually seem to have everything available, have quick and friendly service, and are just amazing. I make sure our weekly visits are on Tuesdays between 11-1130am just so I am guaranteed a good visit. They always have our dressing and peppers !! I noticed neither one of them are there on weekends, and yeah you can tell. If I was the GM, I would cater to these 2 and pray they don't find a company that treats them better rather than overwork them knowing they are the only reason the store is basically functioning during the weekday mornings/early afternoons. Let me start off by saying that I am a fan of Chipotle restaurants. This specific location could use some work though. Expect to always have your orders completed at least 15+ minutes later than scheduled and always check that your order is correct before leaving. My best advice for anyone ordering from this location is to order your food at least 15 minutes before you plan to actually arrive, especially since they are completely digital during Covid. For example, if you are going to arrive around 6:30, set your pick up time to 6:15. Before this tactic, I was always waiting around for my order (sometimes an additional 30+ minutes). read more

For some reason this particular location seems to always struggle. A lot of times they are out of stuff, drinks, ingredients, workers. Place looks really messy a lot. Chipotle in Pittsburgh, McKnight Rd, Smallman street and Market Square always fall short! These locations are always out of items. There are never any fajitas, sour cream, corn salsa! Today I visited the McKnight store and they were out of fajitas, corn salsa and even forks! What is wrong? Tuesday the Smallman st. Store had nothing but carnitas?????? We got there 5 minutes after opening and I was not pleased to say that they were not prepared for anyone to come in until 15 minutes after they opened. I had to wait for rice to cook at nasty tables that weren't clean from the day before. And after I got my food I heard an employee and customer fighting that they only had kid sized cups and no large fountain cups. And on top of all of that, they charged us for full-size fountain drink even though we only got a kid size. They had carpets bunched up by entrance that people could trip on, chairs and tables not clean. And when I went to the bathroom, there was no toilet paper in two different bathrooms, and I ended up having to wipe my booty with paper towels. I could barely eat my food because the chicken was over spiced. So I'm still not pleased to say that I recommend not coming here. read more

While I stood in line I watched the worker ( young black male with beard) who was making two burritos pull out his phone multiple times to text then continued to make the bowl. I am a big fan of Chipotle as it is a inexpensive healthy alternative to Mcdonalds and Wendy's. I had a bowl to go with white rice chicken green peppers and onions and tomatoes and sour cream and lettuce. the food was delicious and I definitely will be going back as it is near by. The staff are fast and friendly and the place is clean. The store has plenty of seating, But they dont seem to need it as it does not seem to be that busy ever. This is the first yelp review I have ever made because no business has ever angered me multiple times for me to take energy out of my day to give them a bad review. I love chipotle as a whole but this chipotle is by far the worst chipotle I've ever gone too. I've never had a good experience by going to this chipotle, sure the bowls can be a little underfilled sometimes, but that's not the problem. Its the employees. As someone who has worked in food services, I always treat employees of fast food places with the greatest amount of respect, but this chipotle just has workers that are outright rude for no reason. This lady with dyed red hair gave me immense attitude for asking for the tomatoes instead of refiring to it as mild salsa. Every visit, SOMETHING goes horribly wrong. Like it's become a joke between my partner and me about what's going to happen/what's missing during my next visit. Waited for over 40 minutes for a mobile order and was told as a group of people to order in line and call for a refund because it would be quicker? Check. Missing ingredients or add-ons? Check. Meat on a veggie bowl? Check. Only one shred of lettuce when I ordered lettuce in my bowl? Check. Queso cup barely filled? Check. Skimpy portions? Check. Soggy and chewy chips? Check. Locked front door during open hours, with staff working inside while I tried to pick up my mobile order and they wouldn't let us in the door to grab it off the shelf? Check. Forgot silverware and napkins in the bag during every mobile order this year even though it was printed on the reciept? Check. Sticky floors? Check. Slow as dirt workers having to be stared down by management because it appears as though they can't do their job unattended? (even if you're new, it doesn't take 5 whole minutes to compose a burrito bowl with every ingredient in front of you like I watched). Check. Most of these have happened on seperate visits, and some of these occurances have happened REPEATEDLY. I only come back here due to the convienient location. Well, today I'm throwing my hat in and driving the extra time to the McCandless location because at least I don't feel obligated to start picking up trash off their restaurant floor to help clean up. Chipotle, someone really needs to send in quality control to retrain this staff on customer service, problem solving, and cleanliness, or else the bad reviews are going to keep on coming. read more

I'm a big fan of Chipotle, but our order today was wrong in a number of ways. We had two entree orders (bowls), both of which we ordered double meat. Our bowls were only about 3/4 full as compared to usual. We had order extra rice as well. Neither the rice or meat quantities were any more than a normal order. They also did not get the toppings correct. My wife's bowl correct, but my toppings were completely wrong. I placed an order (Order ######) through the Chipotle app with the pickup address as 4861 McKnight Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Despite ordering at 12:45 PM today, when I arrived at 1 PM, my order was not ready. I returned at 1:15 PM, but it still wasn't available for pickup. Subsequently, I waited for an additional half-hour without receiving my order. When I attempted to contact the management, they did not respond, and even after multiple attempts, they finally informed me that my order was already completed. Myself and 2 other of my employees did online orders today.....Big Mistake, again. Wrong protein in my quesadilla (steak) which I don't eat. The side of guacamole I ordered missing all together. It gets better, called the store about the issues and they said I got no guacamole cause they had none made......what? I could come back in a hour and they would have some. So...you let folks buy online but then don't have the food to complete the order....wow. One of my employees had same issue wrong protein and no guacamole and the other quesadilla was so burnt it was black, his protein was wrong and they never gave his drink. Their customer care department is refunding us but when you are on a 12 hour shift in a busy doctors office and lunch is about all you have to look forward to........this sucked. Ordered from this location yesterday on the app with a pick up time of 3:15. Showed up right on time to pick up my food and then drove the 10 minutes home to eat. When I opened my burrito bowl not only did I notice it didn't have sour cream (no big deal i have some at home), but my food was cold. Not just room temperature, but cold as if the ingredients were pulled from the fridge. I could tell my food wasn't warm at any point because usually when the food is fresh and hot, the cheese will melt down during the ride home. Not only that, but My rice was hard and undercooked and my tortilla on the side was ROCK HARD. It was obviously an old wrapped up tortilla they had on the side. I tried calling this location at 3:45. No answer. Then I realized this location closed at 4 pm when all other locations near me close around 8. I had to contact the location on covenant ave for help and they offered to remake my food for me because they couldn't issue me a refund since it was ordered from a different location. One person at lunch time working in line of 30 plus people. Sooo slow, awful. Avoid if you can.

We have had good experience in the past. Over this year it's gone downhill. This week was our worst ever, we are ended our relationship permanently. Monday my husband went into McNight Pittsburgh Pa location to start our order and got my usual chicken salad with approximately salad mix(none) romaine lettuce (skimpy amount), 1/4c. Black beans, 1Tbl sour cream, chicken, Tomato salsa, guacamole. My guacamole was not it was hard as a rock 1/2 piece and 1/8 piece not edible and my salad was not even 1/2 full. It should have had lettuce. I ate and choked on peppers. We had no drinks as they were not full, no tea, lemonades, no Izzy's! I am allergic to corn products so can't has fountain drinks. Their tables were so dirty we ate in our car! Since I was choking with no drink to help me I went in to return my food and the so called teenage "manager" claims only 2 people showed up to work! He gave money back to me, I said he should be embarrassed about the mess and clean it up! Water on the floors, toilets overflowing, trash cans maxed, a customer put napkins out from under the cabinet since they ran out! I took pictures of the mess when he lost his mind and began to be irate in tone and manor. He kept saying I vas breaking the law by taking pictures and violating his rights! He really scared me and I left in total fear of his reaction! When I was outside I told customers they should be careful as nothing was in good condition and management was unprofessional! Honestly this was possibly the worst experience at chipotle in my life. Not only did they run out of tea (big shocker!) but one of the girl was so unbelievably rude for no reason. I was in the middle of ordering food and she got up and walked away. When she came back she asked me something and I said "what" and she made a face and pointed at the food without repeating what she said. Not only that but if you happen to order the chicken she mumbles under her breath and makes a face disgust. I didn't get her name but she's african american and seemed like she wanted to not even be there. I'm so infuriated with her actions that I decided to write this review. The service I received at this location was awful. I know they can't help food or staff shortages so as far as that I understand. There was a line of maybe 6 people in front of me when I arrived, they weren't accepting online or 3rd party (uber/doordash) orders, yet somehow I spent almost 40 minutes from start to finish. The guy that greeted me was rude, no hello or anything, just "we're out of fajitas etc and can't take cash." I didn't want anything they were out of and wasn't paying with cash so I said that's fine. Then in return he gave me the biggest eye roll. My bowl was FILLED with rice. I like rice, I typically wouldn't mind this, but can I get some other things in there too? My portions for everything, including cheese and lettuce were so bare. When it came time to pay I had to wait for the same guy to ring me out. It took him almost 7 minutes to even approach the register. Again, short staffed, I get it. But he wasn't busy helping someone else or even his coworker. He was just seemingly walking up and down the line inspecting? Chit chatting with the other girl who was actually working. He finally comes to ring me out, and after I inserted my card chip he disappeared. I could've just taken my food and left, but unfortunately I needed a receipt because I was using a company card. TERRIBLE doesn't even cut it! Did an order in the app around 630pm the other evening for pick up. Had 5 individual orders , plus large chips and queso. My daughter picked it up and saw that the chips and queso were not there. She asked to speak to someone, she was told "there's no manager here to help you." When she got home with the order, each and everyone of us were missing multiple options from our orders, even items that we paid extra for. ie:cheese, sour cream, vegetable, lettuce. On one of our burrito bowls, had 3 tiny pieces of lettuce on it. One of the burritos was basically a rice burrito. I understand that ingredients can run low or out by the end of the day- then let us know on the receipt that is attached to the bag AND don't charge us for the large chips and queso that I was charged for!!!! or throw in a few bottles of drinks or a chipotle gift card for that they have on their counter, to make it even. Come on Chipotle, this review doesn't even deserve one star. The other chipotle down the road at McCandless Crossing - I have never had any issues with. Appears that the employees here just don't care, and there is no accountability- but that starts at the top, whoever their manager(s) is/are needs a refresher course or to be let go. Hire someone who will turn this location into a better one. My reason for not going to the McCandless crossing location was strictly for a matter of convenience, living closer to this one. read more

6/24 8pm I walked in and I was 5th in line and it took me 33 minutes to get my burrito. Little did I know that 8 online orders would be made before it was my turn in line. In all fairness, the Spanish woman (mngr) and the black girl with red braids that were working the food line, were working hard and doing the best they could. There were a lot of other workers doing next to nothing in that store other than the girls at the counter. Otis who is the other manager...would come out to view what was going on, and just shrug his shoulders and not offer any help whatsoever. After I paid for my order I wanted to speak to a manager but didn't dare pull the Spanish mngr away from what she was doing since she was one of two people that were actually working. I opted to speak with the other manager and that was Otis. The problem with Otis is, that Otis couldn't care less. And I only know who the managers were because I spent so much time in line...I asked the worker who was wiping down the tables who the managers were. Bottom line is...This Chipotle is a total disaster. No fajitas...33 minutes to get a burrito..there's a zillion other places to eat on McKnight rd. read more

This chipotle is a disgrace to the chipotle name. It's filthy. The workers are slow and my worker kept touching things then using the same gloves to touch my food. He even scooped old crusty food stuck on the counter back into the steam table. THERE WAS A DEAD FLY IN MY BOWL. I got takeout from the Chipotle at 4861 McKnight Rd, when I got home and opened my bowl, I saw a DEAD FLY in it. I have uploaded 2 photos in the photos section. I'm sure the fly was from the store because I saw it as soon as I opened the lid and it was dead. I called the store and asked to speak to the manager. She told me to go back to the store to get a refund for the amount I paid, or a free entry. She did not sound sorry at all. NO APOLOGY, NO ADDITIONAL REIMBURSEMENT. Since I already know their food is not clean, I did not go back. In addition, my husband has a sensitive stomach and he often got sick after eating there, which generally is an indication of unclean food. But due to the fact that Chipotle's food is so delicious and this location is very close to our home, we still visited a lot -- until I saw a whole fly in my bowl. We definitely won't go back anymore, no matter how delicious the food is. I've also seen a worker there accidentally dropped a plastic dip container into the Guacamole tray, she saw it but didn't pick it up immediately, she went back to work on someone's order, then picked up the container afterwards. After seeing all those details, I don't even want to imagine how they prepare their food. In short, what you eat there is not as clean as you assume. I want to remind future customers to avoid getting food from this place. If you do, check your food before your eat, to make sure there's nothing like a fly in it.
