I've always enjoyed a good Burrito from Chipotle Mexican Grill. All their ingredients and products are so fresh, made and cooked daily. Their employees are well trained in food handling and in the times they need to wash their hands and change their gloves. As a matter of fact I like them so much that I own Chipotle Stock in my Investment Portfolio. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And the Chipotle Mexican Grill at Towers Shopping Center, located in Southwest Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. I currently have 12,838 Reward Points from Chipotle reflected in my Chipotle app. Most of the time I order delivery from this store location. But today I happened to be in the area and decided to go eat there in person. Their restaurant is located on the right of T-Mobile at Towers Shopping Center. This place has been totally renovated since the time it was built and all the stores there are very clean and presentable. They are in the right corner of the strip mall in a modern building painted yellow and white, with bright red window frames color. The interior design of the restaurant has nice contemporary furniture and lighting. As one enters through the main door on the left side, one walks all the way back until one reaches the counter and tell the employee there the entrée they want, the protein, the ingredients included, and the extra ingredients that are Guacamole and Queso Blanco. There was one customer in front of me and I took a look of the menus high above and some enlarged photos advertisements of some of the items. When the server came back and asked me what I wanted. I told him a Braised Beef Barbacoa Burrito. He heated the large tortilla to make the burrito and started asking me what I wanted on it. Starting from the white rice and black beans, then the protein that I ordered was the Beef Barbacoa, the mild sauce and the one with corn, graded cheese, and sour cream. He was wearing gloves as he handled the Burrito and was very generous with the portions. When he started folding the Burrito, it was so loaded that it cracked, so he asked me if it was alright if he put another tortilla over the first one. I agreed and he did a great job folding the Burrito. Then he wrapped it in an aluminum wrap and put it inside an orange plastic baske. By this time we had reached the cashier who asked me what I has so she could price the order, I included a fountain soft drink. I had her scan my app so I would get my Rewards points for this meal and paid with my credit card. The cashier lady employee was very friendly and nice, even though she was wearing a mask. I found this a little strange because Chipotle Corporate now has paid sick leave to encourage employees to stay home when I'll. It also has come up with their Food Safety 7, a system of seven key protocols for preventing foodborne illness, encompassing Work Healthy, Work Clean, Keep Produce Safe, Cook it, Keep it Hot/Keep it Cold, Maintain Sanitary Conditions, and Call for Help. These guidelines are a core part of the company's overall enhanced food safety program, which also include rigorous supplier standards, and enhanced internal training. I took my Burrito and paper cup and sat down at a table in front of the softdrink machine after getting some ice and Root Beer. The Burrito was real Fat, sort of contradicting those customers that are saying that they are making them smaller. And it contained lots of protein and other ingredients. It was truly amazingly delicious. The only thing that prevented me from having an excellent dining experience was that I noticed that the Organic Lemonade and Agua Fresca dispensers were dirty, empty, and not cleaned nor replenished. Also that the floor of the seating area next to me was dirty, and they didn't have anyone cleaning the restaurant after the customer. The dirty floor detracted from the beautiful contemporary decor of the place and ruined the perfect dining experience. I hope Corporate and management reads my review and immediately corrects this, for it is one of the only reason I didn't give it a 5 Stars review. read more

I ordered the grilled chicken burrito bowl. I got maybe 5 or 6 pieces of chicken. They had run out of the grilled vegetables but the cook told the server he wasn't going to cook up anymore. I definitely didn't get my money's worth for what I'd paid. Worst Chipotle experience ever. read more

I want to keep eating here because I love chipotle but man it grosses me out to see them make our food and then use the same gloves to write our order with the sharpie/money handling and touching our food as well, also when they hand us our cup the gentleman keeps putting his fingers inside the cup when handing it to us. As someone who's worked on the line it's gross and also definitely a health violation. I didn't expect a line out the door at 2pm, but there we were. It was a lazy afternoon, so my daughter and I chatted while we waited. When I ordered, my bowl was started, then two online orders were placed before my daughter's order was taken. The customer in front of me requested the last serving of cheese, I ordered the last guac, and my daughter got the last scoop of corn salsa. The Entire Store came to a complete halt. No one seemed to know where cheese comes from. We stood still, the entire line out the door, the takeout orders, everything. It took almost ten minutes for the empty bins to be refilled and orders to begin moving. Mysteriously, another customer had moved ahead of my daughter. I paid, stood and waited, then paid again. My wife went in tonite to get our family dinner. As she went through the line she ordered two bowls and one burrito. After the lady made her burrito, the girl came back and forgot about the bowls. She asked the next guy in line what he wanted and started his burrito, skipping over my wife. This caused my 10 year old sons burrito to be pushed up the line with this man's. The girl then started making my wife's bowls. The cashier then assumed my sons burrito was with the man and rolled his eyes at my son for being out of place and gave him attitude. When my wife finally got to the cashier after her bowls were made, she asked for chips and salsa. The cashier rolled his eyes again and said "what kind ?" With an attitude. My wife does not frequent chipotle and did not realize she needed to pick a salsa. This encounter was kind of putting her off so she forgot to order drinks. When she realized she needed to order drinks, the cashier was ready to ringer up, when she asked for drinks. This obviously annoyed him and he replied , "anything else?" With attitude. On top of this, when wife got home, the contents of the bag were not properly closed and leaked into the back causing it to weaken. When she entered the house the bottom of the back dropped out and our dinner fell all over the floor. I understand that the fast food game is hard and very aggravating sometimes, but I don't believe it is too much to ask that employees treat customers with some patience and respect. We spent 40$ on a diner that was a rude experience and had to scoop it off the damn floor to eat because the employee couldn't take the time to put the food in the bag correctly. I have online-ordered from this location at least 5 times in the last 6 months. At non-peak hours, our typical 4-item order has at least one item is wrong. I wish no stars was an option. We LOVE chipotle and due to dietary restrictions over the last year we have ordered from here a lot. However we can always count on our order being wrong. We have only ever gotten our salad dressing 1 time (despite the fact that we order a salad from here at least once a month). We have gotten orders with the wrong meat, missing chips, missing drinks, etc. It is a mess. If you are going to pick up your order, then you can check it there and identify the issue but if you order via Grubhub or even the chipotle app, be warned that you likely won't get what you ordered. read more

Good food, but not consistent on serving sizes. Last week, I ordered a basic salad bowl with chicken, and added brown rice. It was full to the brim! The "new" Salem Chipotle did not recognize that I received an order that was placed by a family that I take care of their dogs. They buy their entire family and myself Chipotle weekly. Our family loves Chipotle, but this was BY FAR THE WORST CHIPOTLE WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! There is 6 of us, and multiple employees managed to mess up every last one of our orders in multiple ways. We tried to politely correct some of it (like them giving the wrong kind of tacos and meat) and we just got rude looks from them. They forgot or chips that we paid for. The counters were dirty and wet. They didn't even want to take our kid's order though she was super polite and spoke loud and clear. The bathroom was filthy. The chicken and steak was fatty. In other words, every part of their service was terrible! It's not like there was just one bad employee. The cooks, the people on the line, the cashier, etc were all terrible. I went to Chipotle eight days after its opening in Roanoke, Virginia. It was my first Chipotle experience and I had high hopes because I had heard SO much about the Chipotles in other places. I bought a barbacoa burrito with all the fixings, and my friends and I shared chips and salsa and guacamole. I was shocked by the size of the burrito. I could only eat half of it. I made a good choice on the barbacoa. It amazing. MY favorite part, though, was their guacamole, which they make fresh daily. I am ruined on guacamole now, for the rest of my life. The long line for waiting was a testament to how great Chipotle is. And it moved quickly. Despite being on the constant go, the employees were super nice! This is byfar the worst Chipotle location I have ever been to. I'm a big fan of the brand, and frequented Chipotle quite often when I lived in the DC metro area. Having moved here recently, I was happy to learn there was a Chipotle here. Here's what I have to share after mistakenly coming here 3 times. -THE MUSIC IS ALWAYS BLASTING IN HERE EVEN THOUGH THERE AREN'T MANY CUSTOMERS!! Oh, sorry for yelling, I couldn't hear myself think. Also take note there folks; there were not many customers during the dinner hour, 3 separate occasions. Unthinkable in NOVA. - Just like another yelper pointed out, there is no grill here. They are NOT preparing the meat here like other locations typically do. Major quality and taste difference. -The staff here is AWFUL! Who is training them!? They fill the burritos poorly, wrap them sloppily and aren't very friendly either. It makes me sad to say that I won't get to actually enjoy Chipotle again until the next visit back to Northern Virginia because I am not coming here again to waste my money. read more

Three different times I have gone in and they have been out of product--Cheese once, sour cream, and fajita veggies. The trash is always full and sometimes it is even all over the floor. This is our normal Chipotle, the one we go to most often. Typically it's pretty decent. But I feel compelled to review over the last couple experiences. First, a couple of weeks ago I got a burrito for lunch, which was barely even wrapped and not put together as pieces fell out from the foil, it was messy and I had to eat it in a bowl. Last night, I ordered four dishes to go for my family, and every single one of them was wrong. Not even close to the right meal. No cheese in anything and missing many other ingredients. The store did refund me my money because I reached out to them through their feedback option, but it seems like this location is struggling with the new location opening up at Valleyview. I've honestly never had a bad experience here, and I frequently eat here. Excellent food overall, their bowls and burritos are equally as good as the next. However occasionally my burrito ends up falling apart, but that's not a huge problem since I can just use a fork to eat whatever else is left. Went today to have a remake of an order from a couple months ago. That order from a couple months did have a lot of issues. It was a pickup order after covid19 started opening back up, so giving them the benefit of doubt, they may have been having a hard time or short staffed. The manager was very good about putting my name down to remake the order. So today I dreaded bringing up that I'd had an issue last time and to have my order redone. I was VERY HAPPY at the patience and understanding from the guys upfront, taking great care of getting everything done right, no questions asked, just very good service! The store itself seemed calm, clean, and I left extremely happy that I went to Chipotle today! Thank you guys for taking care of me! The employees always seem to be rather happy even when the crowd is unbearable. But, I would still prefer to eat at a local joint rather than a chain. We were anticipating the opening of this location in Roanoke. We are not new to Chipotle. We ate at a different location since Chipotle first opened in Roanoke, Va . and have been chasing the taste that drew us to this restaurant since our first taste . We ate at the Tanglewood location on 12/16/2021 @ 4:50. The restaurant was clean . The staff was friendly. We ordered 2 bowls - carnitas , chicken and chips with queso . The food was cold with no flavor- bland. The queso was also bland no cheese flavor, something missing. I did ask one of the staff members if I could sample the new queso that had been replenished .He was pleasant and did not hesitate to accommodate us and stated he would check the queso. We did not make any of the staff aware of our disappointment with our meals , but no one came around to inquire to get feedback, etc . This may have just been an off day as this is a new location. We will probably try again to see if we can get the original Chipotle signature taste that we first experienced years ago . read more

Whoever was in charge of this store on 12/2/2020 needs to be retrained or demoted. We ordered pick up for 7pm and when we got there, no less than 25 people were already there waiting. One guy said he had been waiting for an hour and wanted a refund but was told he couldn't get one, that he had to do that through the app. After waiting over 30 minutes we just left with several people still ahead of us. We could have went through the serving line many, many times while we were waiting because that crew was just standing around with no customers at times. We were told they couldn't fill the order. One crew is standing around with nothing to do while the take out crew had a backlog of at least an hour. We've never had any trouble before but I won't take another chance on this Chipotle. Very poor training at this location at the very least. Don't waste your time here, too many other quality options in this area. read more
