For my main course, I ordered the street tacos. One carne asada, pollo, barbacoa, tripa frito. All delicious and flavorful! The salsas also hit the spot. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5, is the fact that service was mediocre. After my food was dropped off, my waitress Joselyn did not check in once. When she dropped off the check, she never picked it up. I had to walk to the front to pay for my meal. Great place, but customer service can be improved. I did share my concerns with management. Oh man, I'm so happy we got to dine here and on Cinco de Mayo - fun! The food was delicious, everyone was so friendly - I even recognize people from TikTok (super cool) - it was a vibe. We got there fairly early - the parking lot was BUSY but we got seated right away, and had the sweetest young gal as our waitress (she had mentioned she only had been there 3 months) - very polite and explained things well. After some time being a food truck, now Taco Riendo has moved to full fledged brick and mortar Mexican Restaurant located in Williamson Road, Roanoke, Virginia. As soon as I found out the good news I decided to go visit and try it out under its new place. Located in a totally renovated building, the outside was nicely painted and designed with a lovely business sign on the front and on the sign where there is an entrance from their very convenient parking lot. Once inside, I was able to observe they had done a nice job in the interior renovation of the large space building, not sparing a cent. It looked wonderfully, nice and clean with freshly painted walls, large artworks hanging from them very elegantly, new tile floors, simple but nice looking furniture, and a large host's counter where their To Go orders would also be taken and served. Above the counter they had a large lit sign with the the menu and photos of some of their main items. The menus pretty much remained the same as when they were at their other small place next to the Food truck. I waited in front of the counter until the host arrived and I informed her that I was dining in and would like to be seated at a booth. Not long after I was seated, my server, a friendly young lady with a welcoming smile, came by and took my order. The menu was practically the same they had at their other place, the the prices remained very reasonable. I ordered an Horchata to drink and as my main course an order of Tacos Dorados de Res. This was the same item that.I had ordered last time I had eaten at their other place. You can read my other review here. When the food arrived I noticed their dishes were plastic green and their silverware was disposable plastic white. Their food however had improved immensely, especially their Tacos Dorados. The shredded beef was not that dry as the first time. They seem to have followed the advice I gave them in my previous review and made the shredded beef more moist and crunchier on the outside. When I asked for the dessert menu, my server told me that they were not serving dessert for the time being. This local Mexican family-owned restaurant business has come a long way since its beginnings. And now that they have designed and moved into this clean and beautiful restaurant, it gives tribute to their much work, pride, and determination in offering the Roanoke community a taste of their genuine Mexican Cuisine. This is our favorite go to for any pick up food. The service is always consistent, the food is always fresh, and the food arrival is always quick. The combination of thin fried chicken, Spanish rice, refried beans, lettuce, avocado, cotija cheese, and tomato along with either green or red salsa is amazing. The corn tortillas are always warm and a splash of lime completes this dish. My normal go to is the shredded chicken tacos. These perfectly portioned tacos offer a flavorful combination of seasoned chicken, lettuce, avocado, cotija cheese, fresh crema, and tomatoes on a corn tortilla. Add a splash of lime along with the provided salsa and it's perfection! We have never considered ourselves regulars of a certain restaurant, however, this is one place that we never tire of. I have tried a few things from the menu and Have yet to be disappointed. The inside is originally a store with the restaurant side which has a few indoor seating options but not many. The food is actually made from their food truck which is located directly next to the store. In addition to the food truck there is also a truck that makes churros and a truck that does specialty drinks and Mexican fruit cups. By far one of the best authentic Mexican places in Roanoke and if you have not tried them, I would recommend.
