Turf separating at the paver border.
    Justine P.

My turf was installed at the end of February 2026, and what should have been an exciting backyard improvement has turned into an ongoing headache. Within a short time, I began experiencing problems with the turf lifting at the seams and edges and nails repeatedly popping completely out of the ground. There have been numerous attempts to address these issues. Initially, the solution was repeatedly to add more nails, sometimes in areas that already had nails. Eventually, another crew came out, pulled sections of the turf back, reworked the material underneath, and re-nailed it. Unfortunately, the same problems continued. During all of the frustrating conversations and attempts to get the problems resolved, I also discovered that Chips Tree & Landscape subcontracted the actual installation to another company. I was not aware when I hired Chips that a separate company would be performing the installation. Because I became concerned about the quality and specifications of the turf that was installed, I requested the exact product specifications for the turf listed on my contract. The documentation I received was a brochure from the subcontractor, but I noticed something very concerning: the name of the turf listed on my contract does not appear to be a product offered by that subcontractor. I searched the subcontractor's website and could not find that turf product listed anywhere. I don't know whether the product was discontinued, an older product, or something that was being sold as leftover inventory, but I believe this is a reasonable question that should have a clear answer. I cannot state that the wrong turf was installed because I don't have the documentation to prove that. However, the turf appears to be a lower-quality product than what I believed I was purchasing, and the repeated problems have certainly made me question both the product and the installation. The recent rain has made the situation even worse. The material underneath the turf is now extremely wet, loose and movable, almost like wet beach sand, and the nails continue to work their way out. I have documented nails approximately 3 inches long that have come completely out of the ground. More recently, a crew member showed me a nail that appeared to be approximately 4 1/2 inches long. That longer nail was not actually installed; it was left behind with only the tip positioned in the turf after the worker became frustrated and left to make a phone call. I have photographs documenting these issues. What is especially frustrating is that this turf is only a few months old and has already required multiple visits and repeated attempts to correct the same problems, yet the turf continues to lift and the nails continue to come out. I regret removing my natural grass and having artificial turf for this project. If you are considering Chips Tree & Landscape, I strongly recommend doing your own due diligence, getting the exact turf manufacturer/product specifications and installation requirements in writing, asking whether the work will be subcontracted, and keeping documentation of everything. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for artificial turf installation.

This is a trimmed tree....does it look trimmed to you?
    Karen O.

I left a message and I'd be happy if you'd come back and trim my trees since that is what I paid for. 3 of the trees are still hanging over into the neighbors property. My neighbor who called me to mention they needed trimmed was shocked I'd just paid over a thousand dollars to have them trimmed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She's the one that convinced me to have you come back and actually trim them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So feel free to contact me

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Allen was great to work with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] His pricing was far below 3 other competitor bids we received. We had 2 20 foot tall trees removed and 5 12 foot trees removed. They also did stump grinding. Because their work was done on time, and they cleaned up the yard, I asked them to remodel our yard with new sprinkler and drip systems, 2000 sq feet of sod, pavers, and palm trees. Pricing was good. All the workers were polite, cleaned up after the jobs were done, and did excellent work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The best part was that Allen made himself available everyday by calling or stopping by to oversee all the phases of the project.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You must consider Chips Tree & Landscape. Great experience

I interviewed several companies for our complete backyard remodel, and it was apparent from the beginning that Sean was the best. He came up with a creative design for our backyard that provided more privacy; an entertainment space with a bar, tv, fire pit; and an outdoor kitchen. He asks questions to understand what your needs are and how you envision yourself using your yard to come up with a 3-D rendering of your ideal space. Sean has an eye for design and thinks of the big picture and the small details. We had to wait several months for the crew to start, but in my mind that was a good sign that Envirogreen was well sought after. They were worth the wait! Envirogreen has their own crews, instead of a bunch of subcontractors. Their crew, led by Abraham, was punctual, reliable, and hardworking. They showed up 5-6 days a week and worked long days until our project was complete. This kind of work ethic and reliability is so rare these days. Sean communicated with us throughout the entire process and his insights allowed us to make some decisions to improve the original plan as needed (i.e.- installed one bigger propane tank to serve our smoker, grill, fire pit, and indoor stove instead of added another smaller one). Envirogreen does good quality work, and we are very happy with the results! When we are ready to have work done on our front yard, we will be calling Envirogreen again!

Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is one of the best out there, period!…read more My wife and I started 2025 wanting to do a complete backyard makeover. We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is an exceptional choice, and we wholeheartedly recommend it. It's one of the easiest 5-star reviews I've ever written. Gary and Terra!

I initially asked 5 different companies to come out and give us some quotes and design ideas. Some had some nice ideas (but way to expensive), some took weeks to send out their bids, and others, well they didn't even bother showing up (I'm guessing because of our budget). Eduardo on the other hand, came out two different times (I'll explain later why) took measurements and sent us a bid, including itemized expenses and designs so we could visualize what our back yard could look like. The first time Eduardo came out I told him I wanted a walk way to connect our driveway through the side of the house and onto our back patio, landscape rock/gravel, some curbing, and an irrigation system (I was planning in on putting sod in myself at a later time). He came in right on budget. We decided to hold off on doing any work because I read in the pool contract, that when a pool is being constructed the pool builder is not responsible for any damage done to existing landscaping. Eduardo understood and never once pressured us or tried to get us to put down a deposit, this was in April. In July once were finally settled in the home and no more heavy equipment was going to be coming into the yard, we contacted Eduardo again to come to give us some new ideas. The idea for our lawn needed to change now that pool had been excavated and because the Mrs. wanted to have some input. This time we asked Eduardo, for stamped concrete to connect the drive way through the side of the house to our back patio, to build a retaining wall that could double as a gardening area, level, remove and haul away dirt from around the pool to add additional decking area, gravel, irrigation, curbing, and 300 Sq feet of sod. As you can see our demands doubled and so did his bid (rightfully so). We shared with Eduardo that our budget had not changed, he understood and instead he assisted us in determining what could be done first and what could wait. Ultimately, we hired his team to; complete the stamped concrete, build a retaining wall, and to level, remove and haul away dirt from around the pool, as well as add about 380 sq ft of additional concrete to the perimeter of our pool (the 380 sq ft put us $1500 over budget but we needed to do it so the pool fence could be put it.) Once we signed the contract (digitally) and gave a deposit of 50% (also online), Eduardo and his team went to work. During the entire process Eduardo stayed in contact, letting us know when his team would be showing up, what they would be doing and what we could expect. If you have ever had a pool put in you know their process is nothing like that. Anytime we had any questions or concerns, Eduardo was quick to respond. When we made last minute changes to the walkway, Eduardo understood made the changes we requested and gave us a new timeline for when we could expect the project to be completed. Eduardo reached out to us on 07/29 and told us our project was complete and if we had any questions. My wife and I decided to do a thorough inspection and raised some minor concerns and 1 major concern (crooked joint lines on stamped concrete). We took pictures of the issues and sent them to Eduardo, he thanked us for the visuals, so he could inform his team of what needed to be repaired and agreed to come out to our home to discuss the crooked joint lines. When we met Eduardo and his team, they took ownership of the mistake and did not make any excuses. The stamped concrete was repaired to their best of their abilities but it was evident that a mistake had been made. Eduardo agreed to give us a discount because of this mistake. Our project was completed on 7/31. The retaining wall and extra concrete around our pool is done and looks great. No project will ever be perfect and because Eduardo and his team took ownership of their mistake, provided great customer service, great communication and owned up and tried to correct their mistake I feel extremely comfortable giving them a 5 start rating and recommending their services. We are excited to continue working with them in the future.
