Every part of the experience has been wonderful. The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable with bird care. they are very patient with me coming to visit and i always learn something. lots of toys and products for happy Birds and People. Its obvious that they have the birds best interest in mind and honestly love these little guys. Only place ill go now. read more

Birds and fish are my favorites. This store was like a trip into paradise for me . I was pleased to see a big variety of fish and especially different sizes for goldfish and chichilds. But none of the decent size goldfish looked healthy enough to buy, they all have troubles with fins, or with crown, or with itch. But overall, I didn't feel like aquarium are maintained badly. Bird section was very clean and bright. People in the store are very pleasant and ready to answer all your questions. I would love to get back in this store for sure! read more

I have been bringing my eclectus parrot for yrs now. They are awesome here. I would recommend for any bird lover. I take him there for his beak feathers and clipped claws. They are always so friendly and have lots of cool things for your birds. read more

This insane place killed my Umbrella Cockatoo Tatoo on December 8, 2015. I brought him in for a simple grooming and they negligently handled him. Darlene attempted to groom Tatoo alone when April got distracted on the phone. That is why I had an appointment so that both April and Darlene could expedite the grooming process. Anyone who knows exotic birds would have been more caring and prepared. Darlene used the Dremel drill alone several times trimming Tatoo's nails. Then Darlene then held Tatoo on the counter using manual nail trimmers on his lower beak. The first time she could not get through his beak. She looked back at April who was on the phone and still ignoring her. Darlene then held Tatoo down on the counter with one hand and used the trimmers with her other. I finally heard it cut. Previously when the team at Chirping Friends completed grooming with Tatoo, they would put him back in his carrier. This time only Darlene was left at the counter. She unwrapped Tatoo after 8 minutes of terror. Tatoo was limp. Tatoo looked flat. His breathing was rapid. His feathers looked damp and matted. Tatoo did not move. Darlene left Tatoo on the counter and walked away uncaring. April was too concerned complaining about her vacation plans and left. I could not believe what I just experienced. I held Tatoo for over an hour at Chirping Friends till he seemed to calm down. Darlene was disinterested and acted like there was not a problem. Darlene could only say, "does he always do that?" Darlene knew that she had hurt Tatoo and just wanted an out from her responsibility. With Tatoo exhibiting signs of distress, Darlene offered no advice or assistance. She was only hoping he would die somewhere else. When I got him home Tatoo started going into shock from the brutal treatment he received by Darlene. He started crying like a baby. His breathing was rapid. I called Creek Side Animal Hospital and the vet told me to take Tatoo immediately to the Animal Emergency Center in Rochester. When we were almost there Tatoo gave a violent trash and died. You are warned. Something is very wrong at Chirping Friends. If you still want to risk your precious feathered friend, please intervene immediately when you sense any negligence. Don't assume that Darlene and April know what they are doing. I made a mistake in hesitating when I should have immediately reclaimed Tatoo. I can see now that Chirping Friends is simply a hack shop where birds are commodities. Have the number and address of Animal Emergency Center in Rochester programmed in your phone and GPS. Then you can respond immediately when your feathered friend gets physically hurt or treated negligently. I was not prepared for the harm that Tatoo received at Chirping Friends. I buried Tatoo when he was only 21. We were only together for 6 short years. Darlene and April were careless, unemotional, and unsympathetic about my precious friend whose care I placed in their responsibility. Do not expect that Darlene at Chirping Friends will do the right thing. If you value your feathered friend and don't want to bury him, please explore the other alternatives in the area. This is a great bird store with lots of variety. They are a specialty store that caters to birds and carry lots of products that I have not seen anywhere and are usually running some sort of sale which is a plus. They also carry a fresh food called Chop that my birds go crazy for. It's a nice treat. The staff is also friendly and very knowledgeable about birds and products. A source of almost everything you might need for your bird. They also sell birds and have a nice supply of hand feed birds to choose from. You can also get your birds nails & wings clipped and beaks ground. They also have space for boarding birds where you can bring in your own cage if you choose to do that, and save a little money in the process. The big box pet stores serve a purpose but specialists like this are vital to proper care of your bird. They a good source of things not found in the big boxes. read more

Found me a nice black cap conure and Becky was absolutely awesome and helped me with every step from writing it down in details. My wife absolutely love Tiger (we named it tiger). Best, most welcoming place one can go for a feathered friend and anything else you may need! Everyone is so friendly and full of knowledge! I went in to the store about a year ago just to look around with my boyfriend and we left with knowing that we put a deposit on a beautiful baby Quaker! He just has his first birthday a few days ago and I couldn't ask for a better feathered companion, and have Chirping Friends to thank for the wonderful bird they help raise and pair me with! I've been going to Chirping Friends since I was 9 years old, which makes about 16 years. I did many hours of volunteering there when I was 12/13 years old, and it's always stayed close to my heart. I bought my Quaker there when I was 13 and she's still my bff (best feathered friend). The owners have always been very kind and helpful (it can't be easy having a 12 year old in your store full time), and I still like to go there for all our parrot needs. We board our two birds there at least once a year. They keep the boarders behind a barrier, but in plain sight of the rest of the store so you know your birds are being stimulated as much as possible while they're there. They do a wonderful job keeping their birds happy until they find a loving home. Large selection of cages, toys, and food too. read more
