I heard that this store opened up on Black Friday, and I never got to stop in and check it out. I…read morewas amazed with the large amount of dog food they had, with bigger bags as well. They had a lot more dog items than any other item it seemed. There was rows and rows of dog toys, food, beds, accessories, etc. We went to the cat section after and there wasn't as many food options yet, but we saw a lot of the big named popular cat food anyway. We even found our brand that we use. The best part was walking over to the wet food. We found Tiki Cat wet food - hardest cat wet food to find anywhere. No one has it. We have checked the major pet stores and other stores we shop at as well. You can only buy it online and it is rated as one of the healthiest by multiple vets. We decided to buy the two different options to try it out and see if our cats love it. They had quite a few cat toys, and some really cheap options. Across from the food, near the register, we saw rice and mice for sale, super cheap. They were adorable. Right above them, they had cute birds. These are the only live animals they have in store - no dog/cat adoption. I really enjoyed two other sections of the store. The fish area surprised me with LED tanks or Glow tanks - something my little sister would love. Quite a few of them came with a set that included rocks and a few decorations, along with a filter. It makes it easier to have everything you need, and with different designs. I loved the rocks they had as well. Another section was the bird feeder area. They had really pretty bird feeders and large bags of different bird food. They also had tiny little hanging food items or discs that were super cheap. We saw gourmet food items for critters, including birds. I am excited to buy a few in the spring. I was amazed to see wildlife food, like corn, for deers. I did not expect to see it. The employees at the register are very friendly, and were happy to hear I was excited about the wet food options. I am hoping they will bring in different kinds in the future! Petco has done well with me over the past few years since my cat's on a special kidney diet, and as anyone who's had cats knows, their fussy eaters. After working with my vet about 2 years ago, we got puddy settled into her new diet and she's finally acclimated with her routine. When I was growing up we had a dog and we had that dog on Science Diet dog food. I also had a Beagle who ate science diet since he was over weight and getting these bags of food is somewhat expensive and this was before the day and age of the internet. So, coming to stores like this was imperative. But here's where I love Petco. In my area, there's only two stores that carry Puddy's Royal Canin wet food for her kidneys in the loaf style can, and that's Petco! (the other one's pet supplies plus.) I buy the cans about 5 or 6 at a time since a case (24 cans) is $70 on Chewy. The reason I get 5-6 can's at a time is because my cat's primarily on a dry food grazing diet. Wet foods only on request. Sometimes puddy will pass on the wet food for a few days and since I don't want it spoiling, I don't buy in large quantities. So, off to Petco we go. During the pandemic, there was a huge pet food shortage, and Petco saved me a few times by having it available and in stock when other places didn't. The food shortage went on for a good long while and it was rough there for a hot minute. But, they did me right and always came through when I placed an order and had it, compared to Petsmart who doesn't carry half of what I need anymore. The joy of shopping here is not only do they have my specialty food, but I can order in advance on their website and it'll be ready for pickup when I'm there. Sometimes they'll have it on sale and I do save a few bucks but I also like seeing what else they have here. I've picked up a few other things while here in the past which helps. The staff here's good, but for a while there, it was slacking. I appreciate them, especially post pandemic. They also do pet adoptions which is great. They have a grooming center for dogs, but puddy doesn't need grooming, so we don't go. I think they might have a vet area, but we have a specialty cat vet so I don't utilize that either. When i walked in I noticed there were designated places to interact with the dogs and puppies and there were a significant number of dogs in cages. There were at least 4 employees working, answering questions and taking out and returning puppies to their cages. There were maybe 5 families and or groups of people inside the store. I connected with a specific dog and wanted to ask questions about it. I waited at his cage for about 5 or six minutes. ​During the time I was standing directly in front of the cage, I made eye contact with 2 employees, and waited for someone to acknowledge me. Not once was I greeted or asked if I needed help. Meanwhile, I watched as every other family and individual who walked through the door was greeted IMMEDIATELY and offered assistance. ​I am a self-assured woman and I know my value, so their lack of greeting doesn't change how I feel about myself. However, I am sharing this so others are aware of the environment here. It is a shame that in a store full of families and pets, the "warm welcome" seems to be reserved for a specific demographic. ​The reality of my experience: Every single person was seen, except for me.

So when I dropped them off I explained that and they seemed to understand. Picked my dogs up and they said the boy was nipping so they put a muzzle and that they couldn't dry behind his ears. It was not brushed nor was it cut properly. So I texted them and they said he was doing flips and what not, which they never said when I picked him up. I stated they should have called. I'm sorry, if my dog was in that much distress they should have called and had me pick him up to not force him to go through a so called "groom" just to make and extra $60 bucks. Unacceptable. I will be reporting them. You said he was nipping you so you put a muzzle on him. Yes, I said when my sister brushes his back side he nips at her. Yes, everything has changed for him, but not his groomer. What was news to me is him doing flips. Don't lie and say I wanted my dog in distress bc you know well enough I would never want my dog in that much distress. Instead, you muzzled him, didn't brush him and sent him home. You never explained his back side could not be brushed. It's happened more than once. The last time before this time when I brought them in, my female dog was super choppy, but I didn't complain. When I brought them in last week, I asked if anyone different groomed Lila and you guys stated no therefore, I said last time she was choppy if you can, please make sure they're not choppy. Instead, this time, my male dog backside is super choppy and not brushed. Please send me the surveillance of my dog doing flips and I will go ahead and delete the review, thanks.
