I was looking at where to eat with my family on the way back from the airport so I stumbled across this restaurant using Google maps. Restaurant was half full when we got in around 7pm on a Tuesday. We got a young chow fried rice with shrimp & BBQ pork, fried turnip patties and a chow mein with chicken. Pretty big portions and prices are quite decent.

The portion was super generous and the package of the three dishes comes with multiple choices and soup as well. We liked the pan-fried oyster with honey. It was so delicious and the size of the oyster was huge. If we go back, we will try the pan-fried oyster with spicy sauce. Also, we got their signature congee. Congee is always our comfort food. The congee wasn't that good because the seafood wasn't fresh. After finishing the meal, they will give the complimentary oranges for you.

Lunch time today was packed and many people also ordered takeout too. The service was fast and food preparation was also quick. Our light lunch was extremely flavourful. Fav this meal was the seafood congee as well as the spicy shrimp & minced pork. Only cash accepted here.

Cantonese fried noodles and bok choy/king mushrooms stir fry

This is one of my absolute favourite Cantonese restaurants in Mississauga. It is a small restaurant hidden away in a Chinese plaza with unassuming western style decorations. It staffed with older Chinese aunties who are so attentive. But the food is on par with Congee Queen or Congee Wong but so much more affordable. I especially love their noodle dishes with the perfect balance of wok hei and savoury flavours. Highly recommended!

Came here today for the first time for a quick lunch with my mom. At home, we can never get the perfect consistency that we find in restaurants so we often go out hunting for good congee places. We opted for the seafood super bowl congee ($13.50) which was definitely enough for 2 - 3 people. There was a surprising amount of fresh and tasty seafood in the congee; usually seafood congee has decorative seafood - that is, a few pieces of tasteless/salty filler items that help remind you it's seafood congee you're eating. But this congee had loads of seafood in it and all of them with different flavours. The consistency/texture of the congee was also very good. Thick without being overly slimy and very smooth; the rice + water were perfectly merged together. I was impressed by this trip to Chi's Congee since it's such an understated and small store. It's a solid place for congee. Great pricing, portion sizes, nice décor, and most importantly great congee. Service isn't the best but that's understandable in a casual restaurant; the food quality/value more than makes up for that. I'll be looking forward to coming back to try their other congees and maybe their lunch specials too.

Chi's Congee and Noodle House has been in Mississauga for a long time. It doesn't have fancy decor, but have tasty food with reasonable price. Service is friendly and quick, food comes out within 10 minutes after you ordered. We had the half chicken, loofah with scallop and conch, egg with shrimp and spicy minced meat stir fry lobster. All 4 dishes are very good. The lobster is the special when you ordered $25 and above. A lot of special signature dishes are written on the board on the wall, however they are in Chinese only. There are certainly more dishes I would like to try and will come back again.

Salted egg lobster, HK style lobster, lobster in green onion and ginger, fried rice
Tammy N.

Got this to celebrate for my parents birthday. At around $25 per lobster (~1.25 lbs), this is a steal! If you buy over $50, you can get the HK style lobster for ~$13. I found the HK style lobster a bit too salty. I've never seen salted egg lobster before but was pleasantly surprised. The flavour evenly coated the lobster and was not overly salty. They also had a few pieces off salted egg at the bottom of the container as well. The green onion and ginger was good as well. I would recommend eating the lobster with white rice rather than fried rice to fully appreciate the flavour... I ate the fried rice the next day instead I also recommend asking for their chili oil This restaurant also sells really affordable combo sets as well (e.g. lobster, rice, soup, chicken). Everything is at a low price but great quality. The store is small but the menu is plentiful, and the employer was also really nice too It's also in the same plaza as a supermarket and Coco, so you can pick up your weekly groceries and bubble tea fix as well!

Beef Brisket Wonton Noodle Soup - $7.75
Derek S.

Came by for dinner the other day and it was mediocre at best. Ordered the beef brisket wonton rice noodle soup which was lackluster. Beef brisket was fatty, although some parts were overcooked and too salty... The wontons were okay although they didn't taste super fresh... The rice noodles were also mediocre as again, they didn't seem super fresh... The broth was surprisingly decent... $10 /person including tax and gratuity. Cash only.

This has always been my go to Chinese restaurant in Mississauga. The service is really friendly here and the food is delicious. They have anything from rice to noodles, to soup and congee! They also have food menus that are catered for # of people in your group, for a reasonable price. Highly recommend. Check out IG: @ooi.eats for your next foodie adventure!

*takeout review only* We wanted to eat here on Sunday night however it was packed! Ended up getting the stir fry lobster with salted duck egg yolk as take out (we came all the way to the restaurant just for this). Lobster was amazing! Highly recommend trying it. They don't skim on the portions either.

Pork & gold preserved egg congee, Cantonese chow mien, honey spare ribs - all good
Angela L.

Good Cantonese style food at a reasonable price. Been here many times and the quality is consistent. I usually order a congee, the Cantonese chow mien and another dish (beef spare ribs is a good option). The portions are generous, so sharing is encouraged. It gets busy and quite loud with big groups and children, but I've never had to wait too long for a table. Convenient and reliable. No wonder I come here so often.

This is my favourite go-to Chinese restaurant in Mississauga. I literally come here at least twice a month to get my Cantonese food fix. The portion size is huge, the quality of the food is consistent, the staff is great and the food comes out SUPER FAST. Located at the famous Golden Square Plaza, it is the noodle and congee place that everyone goes to. I tend to come here for lunch rather than dinner because of their lunch specials. For $8-10, you can choose a variety of dishes from their lunch menu. I always get the crispy Cantonese chicken chow mein and a bowl of preserved egg and pork congee. It is my favourite combo. The congee arrives at the table boiling hot and the chow mein super crispy. It is more than enough for 2 people as I often have to dog-bag food home. The meal also comes with a hot milktea, which is very good! Tonight I came here for a birthday celebration and we ordered a variety of foods. The famous turnips is delicious and you can order that either spicy or not spicy. The supreme congee has everything in it, but it is huge so it is best when there's a lot of people. When you eat congee, there must be some fritters to go along with it. The honey short ribs and green beans are both delicious as well. And if you don't know what to order, there are set menus for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 people. Lots of options to choose from :) Make sure you come here with some cash as it is Cash Only! Enjoy :)

Their pan fried beef rice noodles were pretty good, if you like spicy food they have a can of spicy sauce to add on, which I think it's much better when it's spicy. The congee was pretty average just because all the congees in Toronto are quite similar taste and I can't really tell the difference. The pork belly was nice and tender, a bit oily but once in a while guilty pleasure doesn't hurt I guess. The dish was Seasoned pretty well as well. I have been here for many years now and the food here is always the "a bit above average" consistency. This is quite important because I know I won't get nasty food and won't expect something amazing either. It's one of those everyday food, just to get the day going kind of feeling. Definitely coming for more lunch here.

The dining area, food stations and bathrooms were all very clean, which is so important at a buffet. They even have gloves at the end of each station in case you didn't want to touch the serving utensils with your bare hands. The variety of food goes from everything you can imagine at a Chinese buffet like sushi and fried rice to American options like burgers and fries, to surprises in-between like New England clam chowder and prime rib. Tons of dessert- hard ice cream, cakes, pies, fruit, jello, even Crème brûlée and waffles. One of my favorite surprises was the variety of mocktails. Most places offer me pop as a mocktail or a Shirley Temple at best. Decent pricing. Father's Day special dinner menu was $50/pp (Canadian) about $36/pp (American) which is pretty great for all you get and that's WITH their high tax. I believe the refular pricing is about $10/pp less. A must try only 30 minutes from Western NY.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

It is a nice local spot to get your Chinese food cravings fixed. Their menu seems to be the same for all locations, the only difference being the price, all locations potentially the same other than the downtown location. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.

So for a family occasion, we headed again to the Heartland location with its distinct high ceiling resembling cool porcelain. This place was packed as usual with a waitlist register at the front. We didn't wait long to be seated but the service and dishes were generally disappointing. After dropping off a pot of tea, no one bothered to check in on us again. While we usually have the super bowl congee, the exorbitant prices nowadays for porridge that we can make at home with a blender is difficult to justify. Instead we had Empress Fried Rice ($22) that was served like slop but was still nicely balanced between sweet unagi glaze topped with bonito flakes. We cleaned the sides to make it more presentable for our meal. The dishes that followed next were hit & miss on the seasoning. Sweet Corn Garoupa Fillet ($24.25) was served with the battered fish along side a cup of thick corn soup but lacked flavour whether we dipped in the soup or not. Similarly the Mixed Fungus & Fried Gluten in Hot Pot ($24.25) was also light on flavour despite being one of our usual go-to dishes here with good variety of mushrooms. While Stir Fried Sirloin with Rice Roll in Satay Sauce ($18.75) was quite savoury with a good amount of sirloin chunks but too salty. Skip it or hit it? For a $100 meal, we'll be thinking twice about whether to visit this location again.

This location is on the small side and the seating is quite limited. That said, whenever we come here Sunday afternoons, we never have trouble getting tables during walk-ins. The staff is always attentive and we never have to wait for much long for the food to come. They always ask you if you want water or tea. Usually also get a bowl of seaweed soup with your order (per person) though this time around we didn't get any. We ordered a lot for dinner. For appetizers, we ordered the braised pork pan-fried buns, which were amazing. The bun was really fluffy, and the filling was flavourful and just the right amount of juicy. We also had chive pork dumplings. These were also good, though I admit I prefer the pan-fried ones. In particular, our dumplings came out kind of gummy. We had some scallion pancakes which were nice and crispy, and very flavourful. Then, some dried beancurd sticks that were just the right amount of spiciness. Do keep in mind the beancurd sticks are cold (it surprised me the first time I had it). Finally, we had some honey garlic chicken wings. They fry their chicken wings really well, and they don't overdo the sauce which is great. We did have trouble fitting all of this on the table since we ordered so much. We managed, but just keep this in mind if you like to order a lot of appetizers. We each ordered a main. My boyfriend had the lemongrass chicken with egg on rice, which he enjoyed. I also enjoyed my Taiwanese braised pork. My pork dish was amazing and they cooked the egg really well. I was missing my time in Taiwan so I ordered the Taiwanese Braised Pork and Egg on rice. We also ordered Pumpkin Pie with Red Bean Filling, stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, Juicy Chinese Pork Burger, and their Juicy Cheese Beef Burger. Everything was quite good especially the Chinese Pork Burger. The outer shell was so crispy and the pork meat was so juicy and was seasoned just right. The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. We didn't order it this time because we've had it a bunch of times already. Overall, this restaurant always hits. It's not the most amazing food but like the name suggest, It is very home style comfort food.

I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!

Everything was excellent. The rice had amazing flavour, and I like any sort of fried rice that combines meat and seafood so that was a plus. The scallops were also cooked really well. The beef with Maggi sauce was the star for me. Salty and savoury and the mushrooms and onions go so well with it. I would recommend it if you like an intense salty flavour.
