Can't say enough about this place. Food is always hot and fresh. Staff has been there for years. The selection is quite vast and dinner for 2 can feed 4! Always welcoming and clean.

As soon as you enter you see the duck and lechon hanging in the glass case and you know it's a legit spot. To the right is the restaurant and the left is an area for pick-up and to-go orders. As we walked towards the right side and waited, they provided us with a number and we waited about 5 minutes before they called on us. Everything we ordered was great, but what stuck out the most was the fried squid and greens with mushrooms that were not on the dim sum menu. Place seemed traditional with the Asian decor and the round tables. Although the service was lacking, I'd definitely come back.

BBQ is very good and is my go to spot. the dim sum is so-so , I've had both good and poor experiences here

There's nothing magic about this restaurant. I came here with my family on a Sunday around 12:00pm with a reservation. Restaurant was packed. You can check items off their menu but they also bring around special dishes that you can order from. Taste wise, it was just mediocre. My least favorite was the chicken feet. I do not recommend.

There are not that many options for dim sum in Mississauga, so when searching Yelp for suggestions, this came up. We haven't been to this restaurant since it was Sam Woo, so we decided to try out their dim sum offering. We arrived at about 9:15 AM on a Tuesday for their happy hour special. Their special happy hour prices are available from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM. During these times, everything is $5.38 except for their $8.00 dishes. If you order medium size dishes and up it is worth it. We ordered a large variety of dishes including many of the typical dim sum offerings like sui mai, har gow, BBQ pork buns, deep fried taro, and rice noodle rolls. The food was pretty good and on par with other dim sum restaurants and all were hot, except for a couple which were deep fired. The service was quick as well, and we received all our dishes in a short amount of time. There were a couple of times when waiters did try to give us dishes that we did not order, and we had to tell them that it wasn't ours. Overall, the dim sum experience here is pretty good, and the quality and selection of the dishes was what we had expected. I am still on a search for the best dim sum in Mississauga, but would return here.

We really like to come to this place, it's the only restaurant we currently go to when we want dim sum or to bring guests to. It's very convenient that we are able to make reservations even during the dim sum hours, which is great because there is usually a long line up outside. The tables are large and round and can easily accomodate a large crowd. The only problem id say is that service can be slow so if you are in a hurry you might find yourself in a pinch.

I was there around lunchtime (11:30) on Sunday. After the entrance door to the right was their restaurant (dine-in) space, and to the left was a space for the deli & pick-up orders. They were both packed! Of course, I was there to try their XLB but decided to order a couple of more dim sum items as the price was affordable (around $6-7 for size M items) and cash-only for orders under $15 and I had no cash. While waiting, I saw people coming in and out to take out pre-ordered food, most of which were BBQ items (pork, duck, etc). They were freshly cut at the deli counter. The cook picked the meat from the BBQ display case beside him and chopped them in front of me and put them fresh in the take-out container and on the plate for eat-in customers. Looked juicy, and apparently, BBQ meat is their signature item! My order was - Xiao Long Bao (XLB, pork) - Vegetable steamed dumplings (mushroom and snow pea leaves in transparent wrapping) - Rice noodles with shrimp The XLBs were disappointing as it looks machine-made/wrapped with starchy thick skins. The soup tasted ok, and the meat filling was good, but probably I will not order this anymore. The rice noodle was impressive, the noodle was soft, smooth, and silky and had a generous amount of big bouncy whole shrimps inside. It was less than $7? Great deal. The vegetable dumpling was also good with smooth skin and the size was big. The stuffing tasted good, I thought there could be more - but a reasonable amount for the price. Lovely to see many multi-generational families enjoying the meal around the table. If you like a quiet place, this is not the place. But their reasonable pricing, relaxed atmosphere, and lively noise. Felt great vibes in this place.

This is one of only a few places left in Mississauga serving Dim Sum so four of us came here today. Ordered 11 dishes; (S) $4.88, (M) $5.88, (L) $6.70, (XL) $7.95, (SP) $9.45 Service was quick. Cost averaged $21 pp with taxes not including tip.

BBQ Pork on rice with a side of bok choy.

Magic BBQ & Seafood just opened in what used to be Sam Woo. I was sad to see that restaurant close, but once I heard this place opened & heard good things from friends, I knew I had to go. Seeing as the full restaurant & kitchen is not open as of yet (due to COVID-19), the takeout area is all that is available. I ordered the BBQ Pork on rice (other options: roast pork, roasted duck, tofu, soya sauce chicken, cuttlefish). The pork was tender and very flavourful! It was served over white rice, and a side of bok choy. The bok choy was nothing special - very bland. I wish they would give another choice for vegetable, or at least add garlic or some sort of spice to the bok choy. Otherwise, the dish is 5/5! The staff were very friendly, and I'd be happy to come back. ** I can't rate this on the full menu or dining experience, but I will update or provide an update once restaurants can open fully and I can come back.

Braised chicken feet, ha gow, siu mai, bean curd, and curry cutterfish
    Kassie N.

Pretty good dim sum restaurant, I was impressed with the ha gow, siu mai, and curry cuttlefish. The braised chicken feet and turnip cake were only okay because they were dry and lacking flavour. The shrimp cheung fan was made in house and they were so silky and plump -- it was the star dim sum dish.

One side is for takeout but patrons are sitting there to dine in and the other side is for dine in, but the employees also do take out. Confusing YES. So I arrived in blindly following a line. I eventually tapped the person behind me, is this the line to get a table. He says no it's the line to order... okay. About 20min in the line I finally get the deal what everyone is doing, they order their seafood order at the front where the precious alive seafood is stored- it's like a pick what you eat counter. So I order their sangarita with a salad and yellow rice and a calamari with no sides (you save like $4 for just skipping that). After ordering she asked if I had a table?? I said no, then she comes out with seven yellow sticky notes and says there are 6 parties waiting for a table. I asked how long? Maybe 40min. She also advises me that i can put myself on the list for a table and she can hold my order up to 45min- they won't start cooking until you have a table. So I asked how long for takeout, she says 20min. Well I did my math, I waited 20min in line, and 20min for food that is not partially cooked so 40min, I can live with that. Watched the server rip the slip, and just fyi the fish was charged at $35/kg costing $60 and the calamari at 1lb was $22. She asked me to wait on the side, saw her put the slip with the raw fish and placed it ON THE FLOOR behind the counter. As I waited on the side I can see quite a number of orders piled in Rubbermaid containers on the floor. Behind the counter I can see the coats of the employees piled up next to what looks like to be the washed cutlery for table service and the employees use the same yellow rag to wipe every cutlery. I also saw employees clear the tables and return to prepare more cutlery- did they wash their hand in the kitchen??? I was then prompt to pay on their pay unit. It prompted me tip. SKIP tip for takeout. Then she tells me it's 2% charge if I pay credit card no charge for debit. So I pay debit. I waited patiently, I stood near the washroom and overheard how a male customer found a $100 bill in the washroom and handed it to the restaurant- they didn't even ask around if anyone dropped it. Then when I had waited 30min (10min past the estimated time, I asked for an update ). They assured me 10 more minutes. Then after 10min I asked again, they said 1min. And then they came out with my take out. The gave me a complimentary hummus for the slow service, but I don't think it made up for the undersized sides they served me. Just look at my pic and look at the website photo. Overall , if you have 2-3hours this is your place. THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY CHAOS! I'm questioning food stored on the floor even though it's in a Rubbermaid and then that bin placed back on the scale, touched by the gloved hands and potentially cross contaminating food. During the whole time I didn't see anyone clean or mop the floor- what if people are trekking sidewalk salt in the winter. I am really concerned. Eat dangerously here if you want. I do say the food was seasoned well but won't be returning.

Service & Atmosphere: Five Stars The service here was truly exceptional... super quick, genuinely friendly, and so very kind. From seating to check out, the staff was attentive and really made the experience a pleasure. The interior is decorated well with a fun, slightly nautical vibe, but my absolute favorite feature was the artistic touch on the way to the restroom. There are these vibrant wall paintings that are clearly designed to be photo ops, and I loved that they encouraged patrons to snap a picture. It's those little details that really elevate the atmosphere! The Captain's Boil: Good, but Different Now, to the food. Full disclosure: I lived in Georgia for 12 years, and nothing is ever going to beat a seasoned, authentic Florida crab boil in my mind. However, this boil is pretty darn good in its own right. I went with the Non-Spicy Captain Boil (which is a mixed seafood option) and loaded it up with lobster, potatoes, and an egg. The seasoning was flavorful and well-balanced, though it leaned a little less toward the heavy Cajun spice blend I'm used to. It delivered a scrumptiously satisfying seafood experience. Everything was cooked perfectly the 1.5lb lobster was tender, and the potatoes soaked up the sauce so very nicely. I would definitely go back the next time I'm craving a seafood boil.

We were also expecting a more relaxed, fine dining sort of a vibe since the online menu looked like it. But when we made it to the restaurant, it was a very casual diner sort of atmosphere. We went on a busy Sunday so it did take us a while to find parking. The restaurant entrance faces the public parking lot so you can park and walk across the street. We got to the restaurant and were late by 30 minutes, but lunch time had already passed so there were plenty of tables available and we asked to sit in their covered patio area, which was right by the water. After being seated we ordered drinks, I got the white sangria while my friend got the red. Both were really delicious well-made drinks. For appetizers we got coconut shrimp which unfortunately was just 4 pieces, we wish there were more! We also got the arugula salad which was great! For mains, my friend got the fish tacos which tasted and smelled very fishy. She had to send them back and get fish n chips instead (no pictures). The fish and chips were a lot better she said. I ordered the blackened catfish which tasted good but not great. There were some wet uncooked spots in the fish. The rice and side veggies were also so-so without any flavors to them. Overall the food was a hit or a miss, some items were good, others not so much. But the service was pretty good, friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back here next for drinks and nibbles, not for the entrees.

But this place, located in a plaza on the southeast corner of Mavis & Eglinton, dispelled any negative notions I had about seafood boil restaurants. The place was very cozy, as myself and my three other lunch companions fit into a booth. We arrived right when the place opened, but soon space was getting limited as the lunch rush came to pass. And we could see why throughout our meal. We all ordered non-alcoholic mojitos first, with our choice of fruit syrup flavour; I selected pineapple. Then we each ordered our respective boil buckets; I went with shrimp and crawfish with corn and potatoes in the restaurant's namesake sauce. The servers brought the boil bags and emptied the contents onto our place, providing a dizzy aroma of spices, oil and garlic that would remain on our fingers all day. We also bought extra servings of rice to sop up the leftover sauce after our seafood was consumed. My shrimps and crawfish (which I haven't had in some time) were all finger-licking delicious, thanks to the Seau de Crabe sauce that infused every bit of meat inside the crustaceans. I would go back for future visits, seeing as how my family loves seafood, and it's not too far from our place in Mississauga!
