No issues here. The staff was nice. I asked for napkins and sauce no problem. The woman that prepared the food to go out after it was cooked handed the food with a smile. They only had 6 tables. We came on Saturday at lunch time and it was consistently busy. People kept coming in. The woman taking the orders was serious and pretty but you can tell she was trying to handle everything. The carne asada fries was a normal size and the California burrito was good.

When I was younger everyone raves about this taco shop so it was time to finally give it a try. I will say I was shocked to see that they are still cash only but thankfully the gas station store has an ATM so it was pretty easy to get cash and the store itself also has an ATM which I didn't realize until after I got cash. I got a breakfast burrito and my boyfriend got a combo plate which was a lot of food! I did enjoy the breakfast burrito and their hot sauces were spicy but super flavorful and good!

Sorry to say, this place makes the worst California burrito ever. It's pretty much all French fries, little carne asada, no pico, no sour cream, and no guacamole. See the photos. It was dry, tasteless and sad. What in the world?! Wasted $12.50. Cash only. Avoid avoid.

CASH ONLY - I've been to this location a few Time over the years. It's satisfactory, but keep in mind that it's the only taco shop in this area. The primary clientele are trade workers and day labarorers. Steak Breakfast burrito - Love their tortillas with the brown spots. This burrito was filled with egg, beans, rice, real potatoes, and steak. It was really good. I can see why this place is so busy for breakfast and lunch. * No salsa bar

Great little taco shop in North County! I stopped by here for a bite and was very happy with the food and customer service. I was greeted by a wonderfully nice lady. The shop is small and I am not sure how it would feel if it was crowded. I ordered a carne asada burrito with beans and sour cream. The burrito was made quickly. The tortilla was very fresh and huge. The carne asada could have used some type of seasoning but it was drowned in sour cream, guac and beans so it was still very good. The carne asada was tender and fresh. Beans and guacamole were very good. I will be back to try more menu items!

Hot sauce available on request. The green is spicier, and the red is mild.

Cash only. Pls don't complain about pricing- it's very reasonable for what you are getting. We ordered: 1. a single chicken enchilada - look at the pic- totally loaded! The sauce was delicious and we sopped up every last drop. 2. Chilaquiles- green (red also avail) delicious but I wish I had asked for an egg or more protein. Served with beans and rice, a mild roasted jalapeño and a dollop of crema. 3. Large Jamaica- $4 for almost a whole quart is very reasonable- usually drinks half this size are $4! Refills are $2.50. We stopped by after karate class nearby at 9:30 am and found this was the only restaurant in the mall that was open so early on a Sat morning. We had no wait but within 30 min, orders had started pouring in on the phone and a line had formed. Service was fast and friendly, and parking was plentiful in this mini-mall by the 15 freeway. Extra hot sauce is available upon request. Would definitely return again on a Saturday morning. Next time, I will try the adobada! Recommend the enchilada but not so much the chilaquiles.

The best carne asada burrito from a small taco shop.... I had to stop by for one every time when I was in the area. They have increased their price quite a bit but I would still come back for the burrito that's loaded with meat. I also tried shrimp burrito, California burrito, fish tacos, rolled tacos, cheese quesadillas and more. The taste has been consistent. The wait was long during peak lunch hour and it's cash only.

I constantly recommend this taco shop as it's one of the best in town. I always get the bean and cheese burrito and it never disappoints. There's just something about their refried beans. That's just so much better than any other Taco Shop. I've tried. The service is good and you know it's a great place as there's always a line out the door. What's even better is that their prices are very good. I'm fortunate enough to live 1.5 miles down the road so that helps also. I've had their taquitos and friends have had their California burrito and their Carne Asada burrito and everybody has always loved their food.

$5.85 Adobada taco and $6.00 chips.

Opening caveat: it would be much more helpful if reviewers actually used the readily accessible power of the English language to convey useful information, and not drone on about something or someplace being "fire", or "bomb" or that it was "on point" (which point? whose point? what's the point?) or that it "did not disappoint" (a backhanded compliment if I ever heard one), or it was "to die for" (really?). Anyway, this is a solid little taqueria! Yes, it's a bit more costly than others in town and they don't take credit cards. Until I return for further meat type sampling, I find the adobada tacos to be among the best in the region in terms of quality, quantity, and taste. Their salsas are like most places: just a red and a green. But they are pleasantly tastier, thicker, and hotter than most. My only disappointments were that my request for some chips and salsa met with a $6.00 charge for a big plate of chips topped with a few chopped tomatoes and a sprinkling of shredded cheese. And the tacos are the huge type, whereas I prefer the street style so I can sample a variety of meats in one sitting.

Why are y'all so mean with your ratings?? Chito's is awesome. I wasn't pleased with their breakfast burrito meat options (bacon, ham, and I can't remember the other one). They had chorizo, but that option was only chorizo con huevo, so I was like "nah". The lady at the cashier was kind enough to be flexible and let me add chorizo to the California burrito! I was like, "SCORE!!!" Spoiler alert: it was phenomenal. Their salsas are spicy af, I was okay with two green for the entire burrito. I didn't like the red as much, but you should decide for yourself! FIRE establishment, I can't wait to hear what you think about it.

I honestly haven't tried too much on their menu because I can't finish their generously portioned entrees after a cup of the poblano. I usually go for one of their salads, the Asian chicken or the spinach salad. Or I'll get a la carte street tacos, the chicken or pork. I like the salsas that come with their complimentary chips. To this day I can't decide between them. The salsa verde has more of a kick but not too much heat. The salsa rojo is milder and thicker with nice flavor. Lots of retirees in the area coming to dine. Under-seasoned meat or not enough meat, soggy or dry/stale fries, light on guacamole when added sometimes, missing cheese. The consistency has been really off unfortunately for a pretty simple burrito. My last time I went I ordered the usual California burrito no sour cream add guac, got the burrito and it had sour cream and guac.... But no meat???? It was a big tortilla with sour cream and guacamole only in it lol. I laughed at the mix up and the customer service was great getting a refund (didn't request it they just gave it to me) and replacement burrito. Still decided it was my last time going there after that as even the replacement tasted like the meat had no seasoning on it. Writing this review to hope they turn things around some time in the future, I miss coming here but can't justify spending that much $ for a burrito I'm worried to be bummed about....again.

The first time I visited a few weeks ago, I had a really positive experience. The location was a little hard for me to find, but once I got there, it seemed worth it. I walked in craving a breakfast burrito and was helped by a very nice, slender gentleman at the counter. I asked for a ham, bacon, and sausage breakfast burrito and also requested that it be cut in half. He was friendly, said no problem, and within minutes I had exactly what I ordered. That burrito was delicious. The salsa station was stocked and convenient with self-serve cups readily available, and the atmosphere was nice. The people around me were friendly, and one gentleman even mentioned this was the place that used to be near Peterson's Donuts. Overall, it was a great first impression and I left happy, already planning to come back. Fast forward to today, Saturday, April 25, 2026 around 10:30 AM, and unfortunately, my second experience was the complete opposite. This time there was a young woman working the register, and from the moment I approached, she didn't seem very welcoming. I told her I wanted to order a breakfast burrito but wasn't sure what kind I wanted today. She told me the only options were bacon, egg, cheese and tater tots, or egg and cheese. I politely asked if I could add ham and sausage and pay extra, since that's what I had ordered before. She immediately responded that they "didn't have that type of breakfast burrito." That response confused me because I had literally ordered one there before. I wasn't going to argue, especially because her tone and attitude made me feel like I was bothering her just by asking questions. I then asked if the burrito could be cut in half and never really got a clear response. I also noticed the salsa station no longer had the little self-serve cups available, so I had to ask for those too. The same cashier asked how many I needed, and I said two. A few minutes later, another woman called my name and handed me the burrito. I sat down and realized it wasn't cut in half like I requested. At that point, I had to go back up and ask for a plastic knife and fork just to cut it myself. Which was not a problem or issue for me. I ate half of the burrito, but honestly, it wasn't nearly as good as the first one. The taste was underwhelming, and by the time I left I was just so disappointed. I ended up throwing the other half away after I left. Consistency matters, especially when the first experience set the bar high. The food was great the first time, but the service and quality were lacking the second time around. My honest opinion: if someone is having a bad day, they probably shouldn't be the first face customers interact with at the register. I may update this review depending on how management responds, because I know this place can do better based on my first visit.

It's got that classic, welcoming family-owned vibe that's been around since the '80s, and we always leave feeling satisfied--even if it's not always perfect. The interior is pretty cool and distinctive. Think big, spacious dining areas with vibrant traditional Mexican decor: colorful murals on the walls (some really elaborate ones that give it almost a resort-like feel), solid wood furniture, chandeliers, and that open, multi-level layout that makes it feel grand without being stuffy. It's large enough that even on busier nights, you rarely have to wait long for a table, which is a huge plus. Service is one of the consistent highlights here. The staff is friendly, quick, and chatty in the best way--they remember little things, keep the chips and salsa flowing, and make you feel like regulars even if it's just your third or fourth visit. No complaints there; it's fast, accurate, and genuinely warm. Now, the food: it's always fresh, which I really appreciate--no skimping on ingredients or anything that tastes like it's been sitting around. Portions are generous, and when it's on point, it's really good. We've had some great meals here that make us think, "Yep, this is why we come back." But I'll be honest--there's some inconsistency from visit to visit. The flavors don't always match what I remember from previous times. Sometimes the seasoning is spot-on and bold; other times, it's dialed way back. Our most recent dinner was a perfect example of that. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, hoping for that rich, comforting flavor, but they came out pretty mild--almost under-seasoned, lacking that punch I was craving. The rice on the side was a bit tough and dry, like it had overcooked or sat too long, which made it harder to enjoy. It wasn't terrible by any means (nothing was inedible, and the rest of the plate was fine), but it just didn't hit the high notes we've gotten before. It's frustrating because we've had better enchiladas and fluffier rice here on other trips. That said, the inconsistency hasn't been bad enough to turn us off. The highs are high enough, the atmosphere is enjoyable, the service is great, and it's a reliable option when we're in the mood for Mexican without venturing too far. My wife and I still enjoy it and will definitely be back--we're hoping the next visit brings back that memorable flavor we love. The salsa that comes with the chips is more of a tomato based and we weren't offered other salsas. We asked and got two others but the flavor was just not there. Paid about 60 bucks with tip for two happy hour items, a mangonada and dessert. Again, if the flavors were there, it would be worth and I would be back. It's such a unique space, easy to get to, plenty of parking, beautiful art in the center portion, they are so close to getting it right.
