I want to express my deep disappointment with the management at La Fontaine. We have used this…read moreballroom for multiple events over the years, including my own wedding, but this recent experience was by far the worst. Our niece's 15th party on 7/12 had several issues starting with the setup. Two main decor features listed in the contract were not installed. When we raised this with the manager on duty, Mr. Sergio , we were told these features were missing and too late to be set up. The decor manager should have proactively informed us about the shortfall and arranged a credit for the missing items, but no communication was made. The decor manager did not hold any accountability that she list some decor in the ballroom. The maintenance of the ballroom also showed a significant decline. Four industrial portable AC units were in use--was this communicated beforehand? Was the main AC not functioning? If so, should we receive compensation for this? Additionally, many ceiling tiles had visible water stains hidden behind fabric. Why weren't these replaced? It feels like an attempt to hide the damage. The gold glass tables inside were dirty and not cleaned before the event as well. Customer service at the bar was equally disappointing. The bartender, Patricia, displayed a poor attitude, was slow, and lacked the energy expected in her role. My father-in-law even had to step behind the bar to help because of her slow service, which offended her. She also cut people off arbitrarily, handling the situation poorly and causing discomfort for many guests. A bartender should be upbeat, efficient, and courteous, none of which were evident. On a positive note, the manager Sergio was great trying to resolve these issues, though the decor manager did not support him well and clearly needs retraining on client communication and decor management. Overall, this experience was hugely disappointing, especially given the high price and reputation La Fontaine portrays was not refilled and run down. I hope my feedback is taken seriously to improve the quality of service in the future.

My husband and I chose Heights Villa for our 40th Wedding Vow Renewal on July 12, 2026. We began planning in February and met with the venue several times. During every meeting, we discussed our vision, requested pricing for décor, and watched detailed notes being taken. Unfortunately, it became clear that little of what we discussed was actually documented or executed. One of our biggest frustrations was the lack of transparency. We repeatedly asked for pricing throughout the planning process, yet on the day of our event we were shown an "upgraded" room and told that certain décor would require additional charges. Those conversations should have happened months before the event--not hours before our guests arrived. The décor did not reflect the vision we spent months planning. We requested red flowers, but received fuchsia accents that were never corrected despite assurances they would be. Our sweetheart table looked incomplete, one of the two decorative trees we requested was missing, and we received only a few easels for family photos after repeatedly asking for them. The day-of execution was equally disappointing. We were told there would be a large team available to prepare the venue and complete a 30-minute room flip. Instead, we only saw two men cleaning for several hours. I even watched décor being assembled just hours before the ceremony began. The venue itself was not ready for guests. There was a strong urine odor throughout the building, including the restrooms, which also lacked paper towels for much of the event. The bridal and groom suites were not cleaned properly, the bar area was cluttered with what appeared to be leftovers from a previous event, and spills throughout the venue often went unattended. Perhaps the most disappointing issue was the ceremony space. We were never told the air conditioning was not working properly. Our guests were visibly uncomfortable and had to fan themselves throughout the ceremony. We also had to request additional chairs despite the venue knowing for months that we expected approximately 200 guests. We even reported a large puddle caused by the air conditioning unit, but it was never addressed. Communication also declined significantly after our final payment was made. Calls and text messages often went unanswered, and there was very little urgency when we needed assistance on the day of the event. We were also informed at the last minute that our guests could not park in the parking lot until 30 minutes before the event, creating unnecessary confusion. While we are incredibly grateful to have celebrated 40 years of marriage surrounded by family and friends, we are deeply disappointed by the planning, communication, professionalism, and execution provided by Heights Villa. This was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that deserved much better. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements so future couples and families do not experience the same disappointments we did.

Important things to know: * The lowest caterer on their approved list is $33 per person with all the fees (no appetizers included), and in my opinion Lasagna House is overpriced for the quality * They say parking across the street must be purchased -- YOU DO NOT * You may only arrive 5 hours prior, and everyone must arrive within the first hour, calling each time within that hour, or the gate will not be opened (my family arriving early to decorate had to park across the street) * A stand-up wooden cross requires expensive event insurance or renting theirs for $250 (ceremony side only) * Real rose petals must be picked up IMMEDIATELY after the ceremony * Apparently AC is only turned on when requested and takes time to cool * Outside catering fee is $1,250 with many restrictions making it difficult for affordable catering * Mixed drinks are limited to 3 ingredients unless pre-batched * Only the bride or groom may access suites after the ceremony, and staff must open the door every time * You do not choose when the included 1-hour Photo Booth runs * The $250 cloud dance is not worth it -- very minimal fog that stays near the stage * Full payment is due 30 days prior, plus a $500 security deposit check THE MAIN REASONS for my dissatisfaction: * The Photo Booth I paid for was NEVER PROVIDED * We were never given a scheduled time for it, either at the final meeting or on the wedding day * They did not have the ceremony space prepped according to my ceremony plans the night before the wedding at the rehearsal * They had that night, morning and afternoon to prepare the venue spaces ahead of time, were supposed to have it ready 3hrs prior to my ceremony time to allow us to decorate but were not finished in time and ultimately causing my ceremony time to be delayed * I have called multiple times and emailed Kelli and the new owner Brody with no response * It has been almost 3 weeks since my wedding with no callback or communication * The venue confirmed Today they received my emails and were aware of the situation but that they will yet again ask the new owner Brody to call me back I waited to post this review to allow time for private resolution, but since there has been no communication or accountability, I feel obligated to warn future brides: DO NOT USE THIS VENUE. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be pursuing legal action to recover payment for services not rendered and any legal fees or costs incurred should this matter require legal action.

After about 30 minutes of mingling and drinking, some of the guests noticed the waiters taking the UNTOUCHED and UNEATEN fruit/cheese. One of my guests asked the waiter if some of them could grab a few things from the huge platter, but they were told that they couldn't. So basically- my husband and i paid for a nice fruit and cheese bar that was taken to the kitchen... Uneaten. We probably wasted a few hundred dollars on just that... Tonight for 200+ guests things were quirky & seemed off with service. Function: There was no discernible heat in the reception area. It remained that way for the duration. No management visible to kindly discreetly dialogue. I looked. Function: One server at a buffet table, serving 200+ guests. Function: Kitchen service was slow. Form: Food was tasty. Rolls were excellent. Form: Staff seemed more capable but still unenthusiastic or engaging. Still a plus. Context: The MC spaced tables adequately but the que did not move much waiting on replenishment and being a one woman show. I want to be positive and fair. This repeats previous observation. It's a beautiful historic building located in the Heights, and it's a quirky space, with the old truck bays downstairs and a more conventional event space upstairs. The Good: Lovely historic building. Decent parking. Central location. The Bad: Difficult Management. Management is available only on Saturdays from 9-10am. No other times - if you need to measure, plan, or tour the venue, that's when you've got to be there. No rehearsal times are possible, unless you rent the venue again. Management seemed put off after our second visit - we wouldn't have had to come back if their hours were not so brief! Questionable Business Practices. We meticulously cleaned the venue after our event, yet $60 was withheld from our deposit, without explanation. After calling them, the excuse we were given was that there was "water on the floor, probably from someone dragging a garbage can." That costs $60 to fix? All in all, it's a pretty place and inexpensive, but the fact that the lady running the operation is so difficult to work with makes it impossible to recommend the venue.
