Little Gem Lettuce Salad Grilled House Bread
    Victoria M.

Chloe has some amazing reviews and the hype is real. Service is prompt and on the ball. My party and I never found ourselves with an empty glass or plate. Our server was wonderful and had wonderful food and wine recommendations. We landed on the pickle plate, little gem salad, grilled bread, gnocchi, and chicken. The pickle plate and grilled bread are both must haves. There's a little bit of everything and it's a great compliment to everything on the menu. The salad and hamachi were also delicious. Both were fresh with some bright and unique flavors. I had the gnocchi and the sauce was so tasty with the asparagus cooked perfectly. The chicken was extremely tender and came with a sticky rice accompaniment, which paired so well. We sat on the patio and it was wonderful. The weather was perfect and would highly recommend. Definitely will be back!

I visited on a Saturday afternoon. It was really busy, but we were able to snag a seat at the bar. Although busy, service was speedy. We ordered oysters for our appetizer, and I had the salmon dish for my entree. I am an oyster fan through-and-through! I will get them if I see them on a menu. Chloe's oysters were fried and the presentation was pretty. See pic. The batter on the oysters had just the right crispy effect. They were still juicy and not fried too hard. A bed a slaw beneath the oyster added to the crunch effect. The seasoning was perfect -- would definitely get again. The salmon was tasty too! Snap peas and potatoes were included with the dish. I would get this again too! Visit for yourself. Cheers!

The food is so delicious and happy hour rocks. Happy hour is in the bar area and on the patio. Good food and drink options. We loved the cauliflower and the ricotta appetizers.

Such a cute restaurant and I loved the open kitchen concept. The small bites and plates were very tasty - highlights on the crudo, noodles under the steak, and crispy fish skin. Cocktails aren't super novel and service for the drinks were really slow. Overall, it was a good experience and a good date night / family spot.

Update! Still love Chloe. Stopped by for dinner and had a great time. It's still beautiful space and great for dinner or just for drinks at the bar. Service was great as usual. Here is a breakdown on what we had and my thoughts: The grilled house bread wasn't my favorite but mostly because it wasn't what I initially expected but it was fine. We traded it in for the spiced lamb hummus and that was the sweet spot for me. I will definitely be back for more of that. It was great for dinner and would also be great on its own with a drink at the bar. We also had the autumn potato gnocchi which was very pleasant and light with plenty of flavor. For our mains we had the spice roasted chicken which was solid overall. It was fairly tender with pretty good flavor and the sticky rice that came with it added a nice sweet note that I really enjoyed. We also had the flat iron minute steak with egg noodles and Thai basil. The steak was a bit chewy but the combination of flavors made the dish really enjoyable overall. To top it all off i had the warm chocolate hazelnut cake and it was amazing. You can't go wrong with warm cake and ice cream. I'll definitely be back for that. My two standouts this time around were the spiced lamb hummus and the warm chocolate hazelnut cake. Chloe does it again! I will be back!

We went to brunch for my birthday and all of the food was really good. The menu is made for sharing and the portions are small, which is nice for trying multiple things. However this makes the cost add up pretty quickly. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice.

This has now become one of my favorite DC restaurants! The service received was great, the restaurant isn't too crowded and is nice for both casual and date nights. The food is absolutely delicious! My favorite item on the menu is the whole fried fish, but everything I've had has been wonderful. The hamachi is so fresh and flavorful. The pork belly is so tender and meaty! I will definitely come back time and time again to try new things and experience seasonal items.

This restaurant is just around the corner of the hotel I'm staying at. A friend and I came after work for dinner and really enjoyed the food. Had their special of the day which was a hamachi kama. I've had this dish many many times at a Japanese restaurant. This was one of my all time favorite versions. It was a nice big portion and the miso glaze was really well balanced. Cooked perfectly. Also had gnocchi and chicken which were really good. Finished off with the chocolate cake. Fantastic.

We went for Mother's Day Brunch, and I expected the restaurant to be busy but it was not that busy. Despite that, our service was the main reason I am giving this restaurant 3 stars. It took a long time for us to be able to order, and the server was not warm or friendly. We ordered our mains (and there are not many options in the first place), and dishes were brought out one at a time and not very close in time. Between the first person's food and last person's food arriving, almost 10 minutes passed which really affected the pace and ability to enjoy the meal. The food itself was tasty and fresh, but overall felt like the experience was affected by the service.

Went for HH (offered at bar or patio only) on a weeknight! This is a pretty solid option in the area for apps and drinks. The ricotta was truly the star of the show! I also really enjoyed the falafel. To drink, the pistachio espresso martini was my personal fave. Overall, a cute spot with nice service!

We were hoping to eat at Albi, but the next available reservation was at 9:30 p.m., so we decided to go to Chloe instead and they didn't disappoint. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were extremely polite. The drinks were amazing, and the food was delicious. We would definitely go back. We ordered the salad, hummus, potatoes, and steak. For drinks, I ordered a mojito, and my fiancée ordered a Manhattan. We started with the baby arugula, shaved fennel, and citrus salad, followed by the spiced lamb hummus and crispy fingerling potatoes. We finished with the grilled lemongrass flat iron minute steak.

Everything I had at Chloe was to die for! The falafel was crispy and flavorful, the drinks were delicious, the chicken was juicy and good. I truly have zero complaints. We came for brunch, I'd love to come another time for dinner. It's a cool spot with helpful staff and the ambiance is very chic. It never gets too loud but it's also not dead quiet either. I'll 100% be returning!!

We had high hopes for Chloe, but it was mediocre and expensive. Also, the service was pretty slow at the end of the meal. We waited 10-15 minutes for the bill, and it took another 10 minutes for our server to put the charge on the card. CARAMELIZED CAULIFLOWER - 16 This is what they're popular for, but the cauliflower we got was pretty soggy. We expected it to be crispy since it's caramelized, but we didn't get any of that sweetness we were expecting. It was very tahini-forward. Overall, it wasn't bad, but not what we were expecting and the texture was off. SPICED LAMB HUMMUS - 21 This was very good and the highlight of our meal. The ground lamb was flavorful and not too gamey, and the hummus was creamy and smooth. The buttered almonds added a nice crunchy texture, and the Beiruti hot sauce gave a lightly spicy kick. The snowshoe naan? Extremely soft and fluffy. We enjoyed this and would recommend it. SPICE ROASTED CHICKEN - 35 People on Yelp wrote about how the chicken was good, and the table next to us got it and it looked good, so we did too. We cut the chicken in half, and I took the white meat part and my friend took the dark meat portion. The white meat? Extremely dry and hard to cut into. The toasted chili-lime dipping sauce was weirdly sweet, so I didn't eat much of it. We enjoyed the broccolini, which was a bit sweet but had a nice savory sauce. The sticky rice was fine, nothing amazing. I will say, the chicken skin was thin, crispy, and delicious. Overall, this was a let down. I think we both prefer any Peruvian chicken joint for 1/3 of the price and chicken that's juicier and tastier. Sadly, I don't think we'll be returning after this experience.

Can someone elaborate on vegan options for brunch or dinner? Unfortunately their menu does not have clear labels for substitution available or items already vegan. I assume potatoes and cauliflower are?

They don't have them listed on their menu but I have went with someone who was vegan and the waiter was able to give suggestions and swaps for some of the man dishes to accommodate - cant recall everything but she was happy with the dinner we had

Does the outdoor seating have heat lamps?

    Yes.

Is the outdoor seating area comfortable now that is colder? I see they have heaters but are there enough to actually make it comfortable to eat outside during the winter?

    Is outdoor seating heated?

    Yes, they have heat lamps

    Is there a kids menu?

No there isn't a kids menu

Is there a dress code for dinner?

No, not a listed dress code but it a nice interior I have seen people wear everything from jeans to a full suit. I typically do wear a nicer outfit as I typically come for dinner.

Does the outdoor seating have patio umbrellas?

    Yes

Can I bring my dog to sit outside for dining?

    Yes

Does this restaurant have private rooms or accommodate large parties and if so how many people?

You might call them and see but I didnt see any private areas. The tables are all in front right by the kitchen where they cook. It is very well done. Not slinging food and calling out numbers. They are quiet and you smell the delicious…

    Do they still serve lunch?

No, but they serve brunch on the weekends.

She gave us some menus, some glasses of water, and also told us some things about the menu. We saw that they had a bottomless brunch option that allowed us to get bottomless mimosas or margaritas until 4 PM. We both decide to go with margaritas. Overall, it was slightly worse than the diner downstairs. The food quality wasn't worth the price, which was unfortunate as we were looking forward to visiting Social for a while and finally went on a birthday. The ambiance is nice and chill but the tables are a little too high for the seats. We got the queso fresco pretzels, wagyu sliders, five napkin chicken sandwich, lobster lobster lobster pasta, flourles chocolate cake, and churros. The best bite was the bacon ricotta flatbread. The lobster pasta sauce was underwhelming and the desserts both tasted off. Service was friendly enough, but the experience still was a disappointment overall.

I wish I could build my own flight because each flight choice had wines I didn't like. I also wish there were more menu items. Service was pretty fast, though we did come in on a weekday during lunch hours. It wasn't super packed which made it a relaxed vibe. The appetizers and the main meals were outstanding. Every time we go to Ambar, the Balkan Salad, the beet tzatziki, and the veal soup are our non-negotiable starters. The bread basket that comes with the spreads is always warm as if it came out of the oven which is a nice touch. This time around we got to try kajmak- tasted like fresh butter from a farm. The orders we kept coming back to in particular were the grilled shrimp, the sesame crusted salmon, and the beef goulash. It's easy to get full quickly, but if you're eyeing on dessert, pace yourself! Unless you love decadent cakes, I would pass if dessert is an extra cost. The dessert menu was quite underwhelming to me and, besides the baklava, doesn't give traditional Balkan dessert vibes. If I were to recommend going to Ambar, definitely head in during restaurant week! And if paying full cost, I would say brunch has a nicer sweets selection over the dessert menu offered during lunch and dinner.
