My wife and I decided to come here before a Nationals game. We went and sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. She gave us some menus, some glasses of water, and also told us some things about the menu. We saw that they had a bottomless brunch option that allowed us to get bottomless mimosas or margaritas until 4 PM. We both decide to go with margaritas. For an appetizer, we ordered the PICKLING + MD BAY SEASONED WINGS , which were absolutely amazing! The hot honey really brought out so much flavor in the wings. For entrées, my wife ordered the super lump crab cake omelette, and I ordered the hanger steak and eggs. My wife's omelette was full of crab and was amazing! My steak was seasoned very well and was flavorful! Both of our entrees came with circle hash browns similar to Chick Fil A's which are my favorite! The food was absolutely delicious! The bartender made sure we got our money's worth and constantly refilled our margaritas whenever they got low. We ended up having about 6 margaritas each. This was an amazing brunch deal. Food was surprisingly underwhelming. We go to the Silver Diner often and I assumed it would be an equally (if not more) tasty, elevated experience. Overall, it was slightly worse than the diner downstairs. The food quality wasn't worth the price, which was unfortunate as we were looking forward to visiting Social for a while and finally went on a birthday. The ambiance is nice and chill but the tables are a little too high for the seats. We got the queso fresco pretzels, wagyu sliders, five napkin chicken sandwich, lobster lobster lobster pasta, flourles chocolate cake, and churros. The best bite was the bacon ricotta flatbread. It's my fault for not ordering the right entree. I should have gotten the miso salmon bowl, but I got the crab cakes. My friend had her 40th birthday celebration and she worked with Silver Social staff to create a custom menu with a signature drink and mocktail. That part was fantastic! They even printed custom menus. Loved it! We had three options in each category: appetizers, main entree, and dessert. I got the shrimp tacos for the appetizer and they were OK. Nothing memorable. I got the super lump crab cake for the entree and they were disappointing. Very forgettable. Other people who got the miso salmon bowl said it was delicious and they other opinion was the five napkin chicken sandwich, and people also said it was delicious! I'd recommend those dishes over the crab cake. I got the churros for dessert and they were good! That was my favorite part of the meal. I got one of the mocktails and it was WAY too sweet for me. Silver Social feels is a slightly elevated version of Silver Diner, just with a nicer setting. The location is great and the stadium views are a plus. We went for brunch and there was a game scheduled at 4pm, so just be mindful...leaving was a whole situation. Traffic and crowds were not playing. Service started off strong, but slowly went downhill the longer we stayed. Orders were forgotten, the wait for food was way too long, and when it finally came out, it was wrong. My steak was cooked incorrectly and my eggs weren't even made the way I asked. At that point, I was over it and ready to go. And I have to say this...they allowed a dog inside the restaurant upstairs near the hostess stand while seating guests. I'm sorry but no. That completely turned me off. Tried Silver Social in Navy Yard and it's essentially a more elevated version of Silver Diner. The waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and patient, which made the experience better. The food was just okay it got the job done, nothing that really stood out. The location is right next to Nationals Park, so it's convenient, but it can get overcrowded pretty quickly depending on game day traffic, which definitely affects the overall vibe. I'm glad I tried it, but it'll probably be a while before I return. That said, I would recommend it as a solid option if you're heading to a game. read more

We came on a Saturday night and they have happy hour that starts at 9:30 on certain drinks for $8. I like that they have a mini size of the entree if you want something a little smaller. The bartender was slanging drinks but still attentive. My lobster pasta had a lot of flavor and I would order it again. Located in the navy yard on the 2nd floor of the diner, it has an upscale & cozy aesthetic with more intimate lighting & seating. I stopped by for cocktails and light bites with my family. Definitely enjoyable! Went here October 6, during the Chris Brown concert. At first it was iffy as we were sat but not attended to. I went up to the hostess stand to address it and possibly move. Two servers were up there talking and the hostess was on the phone handling a customer. Stood there patiently then one of the servers asked me if I needed something. I explained then he informed me that's what they were discussing and give them a moment. I didn't quite care for this interjection as I wasn't needing him nor did he even resolve the issue. The hostess got us together right as she got off the phone. Anyway, we got moved and attended by Evan. Evan has got to be one of the best servers I've had in such a long time. The food was great and Evan's recommendations were fantastic. I had just got the old bay wings. I'd go back in a heart beat for those. I do wish they offered fries and possibly changed up the menu. I've been here multiple times and after a while you kind of want to see new items. I'd say the prices are reasonable. Went here on a Sunday, during a busy time when there was a concert at the national park. Went around 3:30 so in between dinner and brunch, they were just doing last call for brunch. We sat upstairs on the balcony overseeing the Navy yard and loved it. It did get a little warm but they have fans you can ask them to turn on if needed. Our waiter Carlton was a sweet heart and trying his best to manager a number of tables. We did have an issue where half of our table ordered around 3:45pm and didn't receive our food until 5:00pm. While folks at our table who showed up late around 4:15pm for their food about 20 minutes after and the table next to us who also ordered around the same time as our 4:15pm guests. Our table had 5 people so not big. Nonetheless the table had crab cakes, the CHIMICHURRI wings, the waygu sliders, the steak and chips, the hot honey wings, and CRISPY SMASHED FINGERLING POTATOES. Everyone loved their entree except the waygu sliders lacked flavor and seasoning. Everything else was super flavorful and tasty and we honestly can't wait to go again to try other items and take advantage of their bottomless cocktail on the brunch menu. Only gave four stars due to the timing of receiving our food but we are hopeful that next time we don't have to deal with the stress of our order not coming out within a reasonable time. read more

Me and my friend came here after attending Black on the Block. We were looking for a spot with happy hour. I'm rating this restaurant two stars because no one was able to give us correct information about when happy hour started. We walked up and downstairs about 2-3 times because they have different specials. The drinks were reasonably priced but every single one tasted like juice with too much sugar. We ordered a drink from downstairs and 2-3 more upstairs ($7 martini special) and yeah........all juice. The bar wasn't packed, and we waited like 10-12 minutes for one drink. Located at the top of Silver Diner and right across from the stadium, it's not hard to find! It's just a block up from the Navy Yard metro station. Solid happy hour spot. Came with colleagues and we got lit. I ordered four mules and they were super refreshing. Got the old bay wings, flatbread, and burger as appetizers. All of them were great. Wings were cooked well and slightly crispy, def hit with the sauce. The two wagyu beef sliders were tender and tasty, easy to wolf down. And the flatbread had a slightly sweet taste (prolly from balsamic) that I enjoyed. Service was really good, we were never without water. And the vibes are cooler on the second floor so it was nice. Really cool experience overall. Loved sitting on the little outside portion with the heaters it felt nice and overlooking to stadium. Drinks were great (besides the espresso martini I wasn't a fan but the lemon drops and passion fruit martini was amazing) food wasn't the best but was good overall. I would recommend the sliders, hanger steak and smashed potatoes for sure but the shrimp tacos were a bit let down. We all got the three course meal option for 50 dollars which was great to try a bunch of different things and sharing. It was a good amount of food but surprised at the cost in the end. She got the ricotta and bacon flatbread and I got the shrimp flatbread. We loved ours and both of us would definitely get those again! Our service was wonderful and quick! We didn't wait too long, despite a lot of people there. We came around Christmas time so we did have some holiday decorations, which is always wonderful. I've been to silver social before, but not for brunch, and I can't wait to go back. The food was delicious, the drink was also delicious, and the staff were so personable and nice. I believe my server's name was Jay and they were so amazing! I think I've also had them before when I say in the bar area for happy hour and my experience with them was consistent with that time. I sat by the riverside because there was a bar crawl at the bar, which wasn't too bad besides the fact that it is winter and people actually wanted to sit outside, so the door kept opening and closing bringing the cold air inside. I got churros to go due to the cold and they were overall good, but they were a little burnt, which did not make them as enjoyable as I'd like. read more

Silver Social is kind of a best kept secret places to dine in the DC Navy Yard. It is directly adjacent to the center field entrance to National's Stadium, right above the Silver Diner. So a lot of people don't know that you have to enter the Silver Diner and go up the stairs to access it. If you aren't looking for it, you might not realized that some of the nicest casual dining and drinks are right above the late-night dining landmark. The food here is unexpectedly amazing and elegant if you have only ever experienced the Silver Diner. And that's the last time that I'll reference the older sibling. It gives this place an almost speakeasy vibe. The bar is large and can accommodate a big crowd. The dining room has both inside and outdoor balcony tables that are under cover and heated in cold months. Great for date nights or small groups. Last night they had a special that got me two specialty drinks and any one of their small bites for $30. If you do the math, that's something like a $15 savings... pretty nice during these expensive times. I got the Old Fashioned Cherry Cigar (I judge any bar by their specialty old fashioned), the DC Reviver (a gin drink with a nicely balanced citrus and absinthe flavor), and the Waygu Sliders (perfectly prepared with caramelized onions). Dodged the rain to get in here with a friend visiting for the weekend Cool venue with pretty good pricing, especially for the neighbourhood. But maybe not quite the cocktail bar they say they are. The good: it's a great spot with indoor/outdoor seating overlooking the main gate to Nats Park creating a fun atmosphere. The specials are also excellent for the area with the ability to get both a nice dinner and a drink for $50 which is a hard task outside a sports bar in Navy yard. The mediocre: Menu is a little limited and even though the special pricing is pretty good it covers an appetizer a main a drink and a dessert. There was just nothing on the mains menu that really caught our eye and the special requires everyone at the table to get it so we all ended up getting 2 apps and a drink and skipped the special. The bad: we might have had a new staff shift but service was odd. The server was friendly and stressed that they focused on cocktails, but that is apparently only true if you are ordering from their cocktail menu as both the server and bartender were unfamiliar with more traditional/classic cocktail orders. I may be getting out of touch but I am always a bit jarred when a bartender is comfortable making a blueberry hibiscus mezcal margarita with an agave syrup rim but has to go find a hostess to make a Long Island. read more

They were so helpful especially since I made my reservation for 12:00 a.m. instead of 12:00 p.m. We opted for the outdoor seating It was a little cool but they do have patio heaters, so it was perfect. We all opted for the Social Dining Experience and added the bottomless drinks option for an additional $10, my drink of choice was the margarita from the available options. For my first course I went with the Korean Bbq Shrimp Tacos 10/10. Second course I decided on the Super Lump Crab cake Omelet 8/10. For my dessert I choose the Pistachio Mousse + Chocolate Brownie 10/10. Service was amazing and I never had to call anyone for my bottomless margarita refills. We went for brunch on Sunday and were not very impressed. All of us still had food on our plates by then end of it and didn't bother taking it home. Steak was cooked to my liking but was lackluster in taste & the sauce they gave on the side was needed. Spinach seemed like it was just taken from the bag and placed on the plate when they were advertised as being sautéed. Just overall lackluster meal.
