We love that they provide a positive, home setting for our little dog, Remy. Our friend recommended Four Happy Paws to us, after she had been putting her doggo at their daycare on a regular basis. I followed them on IG (loved all their adorable content, and it seemed like the dogs were really having fun). After watching the stories / posts for a few weeks, we finally signed up Remy. We had a big trip, 8-day trip coming up, so we wanted to get Remy into daycare for a few months (1x a week), just to get familiar with Maria + Michele / the new environment, so that ultimately he'd feel better once we put him under their care during our 8 day trip. We were honestly so worried about where to put Remy-- he is shy with new people, not a great eater, and can be nervous about being alone. After telling all this to Maria, we were met with nothing but optimism, patience, and clear experience and knowledge of how to work with all different kinds of dogs. Our favorite things about Four Happy Paws: * Home setting: Maria and Michele's place is spacious, including a shady outdoor area with grass, and lots of indoor space for all the dogs. Most importantly, it IS a home, rather than an impersonal dog hotel. They even let Remy sleep in their bedroom when he was boarding. * Enrichment: They're constantly trying new things to keep dogs mentally and physically enriched. Playtime, fetch, healthy snacks. * Positive training philosophy: Maria and Michele take positive training seriously. If you follow them on IG, you can notice this. We know that positive training requires patience and individual understanding of each dog; it's really special to get that. * Instagram: They share the cutest reels of the doggos via IG stories. I really like this vs. a 24/7 camera-- allows me to get important snippets of the dogs having fun with one another! * Professional: Maria is a great, speedy communicator who always answers us via text in a matter of moments. She's also accommodated our wonky schedules several times now.

I was having dinner next door and stopped in to check the store out. As expected, the place is meticulously perfect and the décor is bougie with lots of cute plush dog toys & merch. Off to the side is a section where the fur babies that are up for adoption reside in posh play pens with white picket fences. There is also a nice area on the rooftop where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future fur baby. The staff here are very friendly, and I got to meet one of the pups named Meatball as he was on his way out for a walk. I've never had a small dog before (our other dog is 42 lbs) and I was worried Gypsy might be a "yapper" -- far from it. She's quiet as a mouse, particularly when I carry her in her sling -- she loves it! She gets very excited when I bring it out and when I put her in she hunkers down and just looks out watching everything while I go into Michael's, Home Depot, etc. Most of the time people don't even notice her since she's so still. Then we get home and she steals my socks and runs around the house hoping I'll chase her, If not, she jumps over our other dog and runs around, trying to get her to play.
