On a westward family journey we pulled off the road in Lordsberg, New Mexico. On first glance there…read morewas not much to this little burg that time and progress forgot. On closer examination, not unlike panning for gold a nugget appears out of the slag. The Shack! In the New Mexican desert operating out of the carcass of an old filling station. A nondescript food truck that serves up the best steak sandwiches outside Philly. Affordable and huge portions. A family run business with undeniably amazing service. The steak sandwiches with perfect seasoning and pepper balance. Cheese (american or provolone)and mayo mixed in not layered. Also a must is the green Chile cheese fries. Fried golden and blanketed in cheese dappled in hatch chilies. Despite it's outward appearance and questionable locale a must! So if ever crossing the south west in a Hunter S Thompson fever dream STOP HERE!

It has a food truck parked outside but it's not operational. The food comes out of the smoke shack. It's weird but cute all at the same time. There are 2 tables outside where cats would've been worked on, between the smoke shop and food truck. The menu is small, which is nice and appropriate since its main business seems to be smokes. The food is fresh, cooked to order.

Came here for lunch on a holiday weekend (Sunday). Inside was packed, but thankfully the outside…read morehad plenty of open tables and the weather was lovely. Ordered: Cheese curds: spectacular! Bigfoot burger and rosemary fries 1000/10 Cashew chicken, which came with a choice of rice (I got fried), sautéed vegetables (delicious) and an award-worthy egg roll. Chicken was good, but not as good as the burger. I think they use chicken breast, I'm more used to having thighs in these types of dishes. Just a personal preference. The egg roll, however was delicious. Two pints (and then two more) of the hef on draft to seal the deal. In short: go if you get a chance, go without any hesitation! Food is delicious, the venue is very cute and service is incredibly attentive and speedy! You won't regret it!

(Never got used to the cold version in Boston.) It was a mixture of lobster and other seafood but quite nice. My side was a green salad with a vinaigrette dressing and it was really fresh and good. My dinner companion had the truffle fries as his side. I couldn't resist stealing a few from his plate and they were very tasty. He ordered a Santa's Nightcap seasonal cocktail made with eggnog, rum, coffee liquer, whipped cream, and topped with a gingerbread man! I had an espresso martini. It was fine. I have nothing to compare it to since it was my first. The inside was nice but a bit on the small side. The booths had been reserved so we sat at a table in the middle of the room. The woman who waited on us was very welcoming. I must also mention the dog-friendly patio, complete with heat lamps. It looked magical decorated with hundreds of tiny lights. This restaurant is definitely a place to try. You can't miss it due to the giant Bigfoot statue on the sign in front!
