    Buffalo chicken dip

They are doing a lot of things the right at this restaurant. We had wonderful service from each of the employees including the manager and owner. Throughout We sat at the bar within our view was a large tv, playing sports. This place was much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. It was clean and well organized. Many of the customers who came in knew the service and vice versa. The food was delicious. It was well seasoned and cooked right. The fried pickles were thick cut and perfect. The chicken dip with chips was very good. The chicken I had for my entree was moist and flavorful. This is a welcomed addition to the Ball Ground food scene.

Cherokee County has better BBQ options. I ordered brisket from the point/fatty end and received a plate with a few cubes and what appeared to be chopped up beef. Looked and tasted like I got whatever happened to be left over from slicing up a dry brisket. Brunswick stew seemed off as well as it was the first time I've ever had a stew without any liquid in it.

First let me say the actual location no longer exist. The owners decided to take their show on the road full time in the form of a food truck. We had tried a sandwich once at a festival but they were out of everything else and we finally were able to try the brisket. Oh boy this brisket guys...it is the best around. I'm not kidding. Great color, flavor, texture, seasoning and portion size. We didn't even need sauce. There were several good sauces but this brisket stood on it's own. The baked beans have a nice kick to them and the mac n cheese was good too. I can't say enough about the food and the owners came out and chatted and even sat with us. If you see this food truck follow it and eat the brisket.

With that being said, when I do check out a new brewery, I am a bit more critical. RockSolid Brewing is indeed rock solid when it comes to its beers. While there were no real standouts, they were all easy to drink and enjoyable. The Linger Longer Lager was crisp and clean, but lacked some depth. The Beez Knees was a very easy to drink blond ale. Phenomena was a very decent IPA. My favorite beer of this visit was the Summer of The Cicada shandy, a tasty wheat beer and lemonade brew. The brewery is big and fairly spartan and could benefit from a makeover. Service was great and super friendly. Great place to hang out if your hanging out in Ball Ground.

We ordered food at Ball Ground Burger Bus although there are other options and you can certainly bring your own food too. It's totally ok to eat here just don't make a mess. Nicole and I both tried the Bohemian Hazy which looked great but for me could have been a tad more hoppy (perhaps dry hop the recipe a little more?). We enjoyed the local art on the walls and all the activities that this Brewery sets up for locals on nearly each day of the week. I love that it attracts runner with a Humpday 5k! While exploring the main strip, I came across Dot's Fine Wine and Craft. I was hoping they offered wine flights (they do, but only on Thursdays), so instead, I opted for a tasting. They have four wines on tap that rotate regularly--usually two whites and two reds, if I recall correctly. The ones available that day weren't quite my personal taste, but the experience was still great thanks to the welcoming staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The shop itself has a laid-back, cozy vibe with plenty of space to sip and explore. Their selection of wines and specialty beers is impressive--and for those just browsing, there's no pressure, just good conversation and even better recommendations. Now, let me give credit where it's due--Todd, the owner, is a force of nature. My fiancée is very particular about her wine, but once Todd started talking, she was sold. He makes the rounds, connecting with every guest, and his deep knowledge and passion for wine is infectious. Between him, his wife, and lone employee who was shaking and moving the entire time we were there, they've created an experience that's polished, personal, and memorable. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to add another wine slushie machine. Every time I went for one, it was still chilling--though in their defense, the place was buzzing with activity due to a downtown festival. Dot's isn't just a wine store--it's a destination. They also offer: Thirsty Thursday Wine Flights (4 for $15, waived with a $45 purchase) Monthly Wine Club Private Tastings & Cellar Consulting Wedding & Event Bar Services Wine and Beer Growlers Rotating Frozen Sangrias, Frosé & Wine-Based Cocktails Charcuterie, Wine Gifts & Accessories I've visited plenty of wine shops across the state, but Dot's truly stands out. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just curious, it's absolutely worth the trip. You'll likely leave with more than just a bottle--you'll leave with a great experience.

The space, the concept, the vibe all work. The bartender was excellent. Very professional, very kind, and clearly doing everything he could to hold the night together. I honestly felt bad for him. He was busting his ass nonstop and never seemed to catch a break. Unfortunately, the kitchen was an absolute disaster. From the start, four or five items on the menu were immediately unavailable. As the night went on, more and more dishes were 86'd. The message coming out of the kitchen was that they simply did not have the ingredients to cook what was on the menu, which is a pretty alarming thing to hear as a guest. Things got even stranger when we learned there was no chef in the kitchen. Instead, the general manager was back there trying to cook. It very clearly was not working. We ordered appetizers and waited about 45 minutes for what I believe was a seafood dip. When it finally arrived, it came out as a thin, runny soup. Not a dip. A soup. On top of that, it was so aggressively spicy it was nearly inedible. It honestly felt like no one back there had ever made the dish before. The food, flat out, gets a zero from me. If I could give it a negative score, I would. That said, the front-of-house staff deserves credit. They were polite, professional, and clearly trying to manage an impossible situation created by the kitchen. I felt for them, because they were the ones having to face guests while everything behind the scenes was falling apart. Again, this is based on a single experience, and I truly hope it was an off night that's been corrected. If not, I don't see how a place like this could survive. The concept is good, the people up front were good, but the kitchen that night was a complete failure. The entire 2 hour + experience was comp'd.
