Come for the shooting stay for the food. What a great way to start off a Saturday morning off for a friends birthday. We all pre registered on line plus we arrived early to take advantage no lines or crowds. This is a shotgun and clay disk range, you can bring your own shot gun to use, they don't mind. We had a great time maneuvering through the site on our golf cart. Taking full advantage of all the great views and training. Our security trainer was very information on how to stand, hold the rifle and site the disk. We were a party of six with 10 rounds per section. Each section the disk came from different angles to be shot at. After a few hours we moved our party towards the restaurant. Where we sat on the outdoor patio taking in the view and watching others shoot. Our waitress was kind and very informative. She helped us make some desirable selections. We had the garland sunrise and a blueberry lemonade cocktails. The appetizers we had loaded tots( delicious), rock shrimp, and fried green tomatoes. All very filling! Moving on to entrees threes beer battered fish and chips, onion soup, shrimp and grits. Giant burgers and fries, chicken sandwich and onion rings, and pulled bbq platter. Came here mid-afternoon on a Sunday after shooting. I enjoyed a beer, a cup of French Onion soup and a grilled turkey Reuben sandwich. Not crowded at all. This is hands-down, the best gun range I have ever been to. I have attended several corporate events with meals included . The food is five star barbecue with all the sides. Very tasty. Cocktails are also great and your allowed to have a drink after you finish on the gun course . From the time you step onto the property, you are surrounded by people who really care that you have a good experience.They care for your safety and the safety of everybody around you. No questions are too silly and instructors are always available.There are 3 courses skeet shooting .The courses identified by skill level. You have 2 people per golf cart . Food is mediocre, service is not great. We arrived and had a party of 10, we had to constantly ask for our waiter in order to order drinks, order food, and get refills on waters. We also never had any plates cleared the entire time. We bought multiple appetizers and had to ask twice for plates (the bus boy ended up having to bring us some because our waitress forgot or got too busy). They also messed up one of our orders, everyone had their food but my grandmother had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes before getting her meal, but they charged us for the meal they had brought that was wrong. They did take it off when we asked, as they had made it clear they weren't going to charge us for the meal they brought that was not what she had ordered, but I'm so glad we checked as it was their most expensive meal that they charged us for). All in all, not a great experience. Such stunning views and the potential to be an amazing place, but just really mediocre at best. read more

Welcome to hospitality on a mountain top. The food is prepared by what can only be described as dedicated chefs. There are not a ton of items on the menu, thank goodness, but all of the o es present on the day you visit are prepared fresh and for you. I've had the pleasure of several sandwiches, all very well predicated and presented. No skimping on meat and vegetables. The staff is amazing and wow what a Sunday buffet. What a great place for brunch! My husband and I are always on the lookout for great spots for Sunday brunch. We found one at Garland Mountain Grill. First, you CANNOT beat the view!! There is an outdoor firepit overlooking the mountain, a fantastic outdoor patio with ample seating, and both with that spectacular view! it is simply stunning. They have their own parking lot, and they are on the mountain, so parking isn't an issue. That is a fabulous feature alone. Upon walking in, the restaurant looks like a large rustic cabin. It's beautiful with woodwork, wine barrels and rustic decor. Our favorite table is the one in front of the wood-burning fireplace. There are two dining rooms, and a full service bar. The bathrooms are really nice and clean. We enjoyed brunch with an appetizer of fried shrimp with aioli and two "loaded" Bloody Marys. they use Zing Zang mix, which is a favorite and we LOVE all of the "Stuff" in our Marys. :) That made us very happy! We continued with Chicken & Wafffles, and their Southwestern burger with onion rings. My husband is a huge Onion ring guy, me not so much, but these were AMAZING. Not greasy at all and the portion was large! The burger was perfectly cooked at medium as we requested and the chicken and waffles were loaded with pecans. Delicious. GREAT job Chef Michael! Garland Mountain grill is great! The food is excellent and its hard to believe its hidden back in the mountains and part of a shooting facility. The quality of the food is excellent and the service was top notch. The french onion soup is some of the best I've had. The deck overlooks the North Georgia Mountains and on fall days its hard to beat. We will definitely be back to eat and will shoot clays next time. read more

I'm afraid to say what I really think of the Garland Mountain Grill. Afraid because I fear that many people living near and around Waleska will make this lodge style restaurant a favorite and frequent stop. We decided to take a chance on something new and have a mid morning Saturday breakfast. Our server met as with a warm a friendly smile as we walked in the restaurant area of this local gun and shooting club. Her happy excitement was infectious and instantly erased our intimidation. The breakfast menu is simple but offers more than enough to make me reconsider one choice over another. There are several lunch choices and i know it will hard to choose between one of their burgers or the Rueben sandwich. We were so excited to try this place. Beautiful drive up. Beautiful scenery. We arrived on time for our 12:00 reservation. Placed our order for drinks (waters and sodas), they arrived about 10-15 minutes later. Finally, we placed our order, kid's cheeseburger, a rueben, salad, BBQ sandwich, and the filet mignon w/eggs Benedict brunch special. Waitress came by about 30-45 minutes later to finally refill our drinks and let us know our meals were almost ready. Finally, another 30 minutes later, at 1:20 pm half our meals arrived. Those of us that did get our meals were too hungry to wait for the other meals. The food was mediocre at best, my caprese salad had mushy previously frozen avocado with Mozzarella that was bitter. Daughter's hamburger looked like school cafeteria, but the disappointment was the husband's $25 filet meal. Ahhhhh pathetic! We finally ate and were anxious to get out there! The waitress asked us if we wanted dessert. All of us yelled No!!! We didn't want to be held captive another moment. 100% awful! Bad service, food (meh), wasted on a beautiful view. I am a novice shooter and spent the morning at Garland Mountain as part of Amitycare Foundation's skeet shoot event. Richard was our instructor and made skeet shooting very intuitive and almost easy. We used the developmental course. The operation is beautiful and first class throughout. read more
