I came in twice one morning and while the place was bustling, the owner was incredibly welcoming while chatting with me and the espresso drinks and baked goods such as the peach scone were all outstanding. I wish had a coffee shop this good closer to home in the Mid-Atlantic region hundreds of miles up I-95. The staff was all super sweet and I look forward to visiting again sometime soon.

Inside, the ambiance is calm and relaxed, with hip jazz playing softly in the background. There's a mix of regular seating and a small bar section, plus a pleasant sitting area that should be great when the weather is nice. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and they were genuinely helpful with recommendations--particularly when I was deciding between drink options. I ended up with an egg and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll that came out steaming hot: the roll was light and fluffy, and the whole sandwich was simple but really well done. I also had a shot of espresso that arrived in a very nice presentation on a wooden board, paired with a side of sparkling water, which was a thoughtful touch and made the experience feel a bit special. On their recommendation I tried the honey lavender latte made with local spicy honey; it was unique, flavorful, and not something you see everywhere. Overall, Bean Bar feels like a low-key, well-put-together café with good parking, a relaxed vibe, kind staff, and drinks and food that show real care.

Only $7 to taste multiple wines (which change week to week), and you don't have to wait a month for the next 'wine tasting'. Grotto has an actual tasting bar, plus an option to order a plate of exotic salami and cheeses which can't be bought locally. This gives Grotto a huge advantage over Mickey Fins which is set up like the inside of a gas station. Mickey fins has competitive pricing, and a very large selection, but does not do daily tastings, nor do they have a bar/sit down area. Both know their wines well, both have been friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a wonderful place to buy wines or to relax and socialize with friends!

All of this is true of The Grotto, and more. Vince and Maura, the owners of this lovely wine bar, are amazing! They have really managed to create something special. They both really love and really know wine! And they love to talk with people, from the beginner to the expert, about vino. Vince has amassed a truly impressive and unique collection of wines that you won't be able to find anywhere except maybe Charleston. And he's very good at helping people find interesting and unique wines at great prices. If you like or love wine, check this place out. I can't emphasize it enough. You won't regret it!

Brisket and other sandwiches, and little plastic cups of banana pudding. You're at an overstimulating traffic stop whose soda fountain sizes are large and extra large. This is the first Buc-ee's off I-95 and the crowds are crazy, but at least you can park your RV. Though posted signs say trucks and trailers are not allowed, you do have diesel in that extreme fuel island. The staff were kind and went out of their way restocking brisket sandwiches and other goods without elbowing through the demanding crowd. Ample parking, ample bathrooms, cold drinks, and fuel, fuel, fuel. Don't expect peace, but all the amenities are here.
