A Delicious Dining Experience at Chocolada! I had such a wonderful dining experience at Chocolada on Hollywood Boulevard! I ordered the grilled salmon with fresh mango salsa and cilantro aioli, and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon was perfectly grilled, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The combination of the savory salmon with the bright, fresh mango salsa was fantastic, and the cilantro aioli added the perfect finishing touch. The dish normally comes with herb rice, but I'm diabetic and try to avoid rice. The staff was incredibly accommodating and happily substituted beautifully grilled vegetables for the rice--and they were AMAZING! The vegetables were cooked perfectly and seasoned wonderfully, making the entire meal feel both indulgent and satisfying. It's not always easy finding restaurants that are willing to accommodate dietary preferences without making you feel like you're missing out, but Chocolada absolutely nailed it. The food was fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and the service made the experience even better. If you're on Hollywood Boulevard and looking for a delicious meal, I highly recommend giving Chocolada a try. The grilled salmon is definitely worth ordering! I wish I could post a photo. read more

While the total experience did lean me more towards 5 stars over 4, the fact that the cappuccino was tasty without sugar deserves 5 stars alone (harder to find than ya'd think!- So I can confirm their coffee drinks are delicious (which came with a little cookie, how sweet!). The food can range in experience, but I was satisfied with the Bananas Foster French Toast & bacon, but I also tried their potatoes and it was very delicious. They also offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I personally think the desserts are the most impressive. This cafe is small, the seating inside was plentiful. On the left side behind the glass you'll find their full size cakes. On the right side you'll find individual slices and small individual cakes. We got three slices of Dulce de Leche, Opera and another chocolatey one I cannot remember the name of. First a word of warning, these cakes are super fresh, the Florida heat isn't their friend. If you're not going to enjoy immediately after purchasing, remember to refrigerate as soon as possible. Wow! These are THE TASTIEST thing I had on this trip to Florida. Spent sometime at Chocolada having breakfast in beautiful downtown Hollywood,FL. First of all, if you haven't been to downtown Hollywood, you need to add it to your list of places to visit. Great downtown with a multitude of interesting stores and plenty of great restaurants. Only hassle is sometimes it's tough to find a parking space. Now on to Chocolada Bakery. Although it was really too hot to sit outside, I sat at one of its great outside patio tables. I ordered eggs over-easy home fries, sausage links, and a hot tea. My tea order usually stumps many servers as I ask for a latte black tea with honey. But this server got it right out of the gate and brought me "almost" steamed milk, black tea, and honey as requested. So far so good. The over-easy eggs had runny yolks (as is proper) but we're a slightly overcooked (with brown edges) but, good nonetheless. The link sausage was your standard small link sausage, OK but, nothing special. The home fries were absolutely great, probably the best I've ever had. They were crusty on the outside soft on the inside , with large potato pieces that were seasoned perfectly . The one thing that was a letdown was the bagel. It had to be the worst bagel I have ever had. This bagel makes lenders bagels seem like artisan crafted bagels. My suggestion... order the breakfast. Sit on the patio. Skip the bagel and enjoy downtown Hollywood. read more

Excellent place for desserts and coffee after a meal at a restaurant nearby or as a stand alone for some of the most delicious coffee and baked fresh goods you're likely to come by. The white and black torte or the chocolate mousse is a must but after having tried a handful of incredible mouth-watering pastries, you won't go wrong. I eyed up several of the beautiful pies and cakes that they had in the glass case and if in the area again during our trip, I'll be buying one to bring back to the resort. Seating outside in the evening air is great along the promenade of well lit shops and bars along the expansive pedestrian zone. For the quality of the desserts and the coffee, prices were beyond reasonable and we look forward to coming back. read more

We arrived at 12:40 for brunch. All of the outdoor tables were occupied and most ready to leave. No one greets you. Smiles are no where to be found either. We sat inside and ordered 5 omelettes nothing complicated and some pancakes. Midway through the meal we had to summon the wait staff for syrup and ketchup. Once the food was brought out which took an unusually long time for such mediocre taste we never saw the waiters again. when we asked for the bill we saw that they had included an 18% service charge. The problem with automatically adding the service charge to the bill is that it removes the incentive of the waiter to provide good service. The customer should not be penalized by having to pay a business imposed tip when he was not attended to properly. Employers are reluctant to pay their employees proper wages and sticking it to their customers in way of undeserving tips. The food was nothing to write home about, very underwhelming. In today's economy these small businesses should be going out of their way to please their customers rather than to literally leave a bad taste in their mouths. read more

I saw they now have a gluten-free options. The desserts all look great. The restaurant has a small air-conditioned sitting area inside. It also has a nice shady outdoor sitting area. It's surrounded by plants. I liked the outside area. I ordered the strawberry smoothie. It was really good. It tasted like a milkshake to me lol. It was sweet and refreshing. This place has been around for a long time. I've been coming here on & off for over 15 years. The owner told me today 6.19.20 that they recently changed up their menu a bit. Dining is out on the patio. Very cool area. Service is decent. I planned on eating on the patio today but the only deterrent was someone was smoking. And there's nothing more disgusting than having to breath in and smell someone smoking while you're eating. Totally gross. That's a total appetite suppressant right there. That was the only negative today. The avocado toast with the egg on it and the slight drizzle of the balsamic glaze was very good though. The baked goods in this place are gorgeous! I had lunch next door and decided to get some goodies to go. I had a hard time deciding what to get. I would have bought more if we weren't leaving the next day. I got the fruit tart and it was delicious. Fruit was fresh and the cream was light and sweet. I also bought a few cookies. We stopped in a few days ago, on the recommendation of a family member. As there are not alot of parking spots outside, parking was a bit of a chore. We had to circle around for about 5 minutes until someone pulled out. Once we arrived we decided to get a sampling of their attractive cakes. Ended up with a chocolate eclair and a bottle of water, while my companion had a chocolate cake doused in rum and a cappuccino. The chocolate eclair was perfect with its cream center. I only wish I had left more space. I couldn't finish it. Meanwhile, the chocolate cake doused in rum was a delight but much too sweet for my taste. Luckily I was with someone and she happily enjoyed it. We sat outside at night and there was a singer present. She could sing in various languages and her voice was lovely. My only thing is I wish the atmosphere were more intimate as I wanted conversation rather than music. Then again, it was the weekend and it was night time. I get the bad reviews about this place but honestly it's hard to find any other place open that early. I feel like that's why people go there and also their cappuccinos are super on point. Be prepared it's only street parking. And you know how Hollywood Blvd can be... Honestly, every time I go there, which is 4-5 times a year now, it's always different crew, which says a lot to me. Service is good thou, when they get busy can be slow but just as anywhere else. How cute is this place?! It has a small town European cafe feel with cooler displays full of pastries and cakes. My husband and I ordered two pastries. His was very similar to a vanilla slice (in Australia) and mine was a decadent dulce de leche filled cookie. We also grabbed two tuna wraps to go and and iced mocha Frappuccino. 8/18/2018 - Saturday morning breakfast After a run and a beach workout, my friend and I were covered in sand so we needed a place that offered outdoor seating. She lives in the area and recommended one of her favorite places, Chocolada. Parking at that time was not a problem. It was metered parking ($1.50 per hour) Their outdoor seating area has cover which was nice on a sunny Florida day. My friend saw a couple she knew and while she was saying hello, I looked over at their plates. I asked them what it was. They said it was Chicken Florentine omelet. We sat ourselves at a table. (I believe you can choose your table) A young lady came by and we ordered waters and a Coladito. After looking at the menu, I decided to go with the Chicken Florentine omelet. It comes with 2 pieces of toast (white or wheat), home fries, and a side of diced cucumber and tomatoes. When our plate arrived, I noticed that the other people's omelet was egg whites only so I guess you can substitute if you want. They serve you a generous portion. I was surprise at how affordable it was. A plate like this would cost $12-$15, and it was around $7. Great customer service, our waitress kept refilling our waters.
