We come here regularly whenever we are in Hallendale Beach. This time the food was not as good as usual. The pastelito andino carne (we ordered 4) was dry and bland. The chicken empanada (a bit greasy) was still delicious. Staff was friendly, mostly Spanish speaking. They greeted us with a smile. Moises bakery: Really good arepas, pan, cachapas, cachitos (bread with mortadella inside cut it in cubes), and my favorite the empanadas. I'm not Venezuelan, and I really enjoy this place, I recommend the empanadas: pabellon (savory shredded beef, sweet fried plantains, black beans, and cheese, all wrapped in a crispy fried) don't forget to dip with cilantro sauce. Service will take 10-15 min depending on how busy is. Try to go early if you don't want to wait longer... ambiance is alright. Serve your food inside or outside. Also there's a parking lot behind. They have the best Guava and guava & cheese pastries that I have ever tasted. Moist, on the inside but the flaky phyllo crust is outstanding ! And they aren't stingy with the filling! A lil bakery in Hallandale! Moises Bakery is a small spot where you can get some breakfast pastry bites and drinks in this area. We were on our way back from the beach heading down south and wanted a quick bite for the drive. After a quick search while on the road on Yelp, we found Moises Bakery! We saw photos of empanadas and were sold on visiting. When we arrived, it was pretty easy to find, with parking in the back. There was a small line but it moved fast. They didn't have the greatest selection but we got what we came for- empanadas. They had a couple of other sweet and savory options so we ended up getting another jamon pastry plus two empanadas, plus some freshly squeezed orange juice from their machine. Now, when I tell you these pastries are greasy... they soaked the bag through by the time we were done eating it on the ride. Although we were skeptical when we saw how much grease it was, they were oh so goooood. The empanadas had shredded beef in it and came with a green crema sauce that was so good. I will say that I wouldn't recommend eating too many of these because we immediately felt the effects of how much grease it was. We were tired and felt heavy but, overall, worth it for the flavor and taste. This might be a guilty pleasure treat every once in a blue moon. Came here to get some breakfast since it had somewhat good reviews and it was down the street from where I was staying. It's a small bakery and it wasn't packed on a Monday morning. I always like to try empanadas so I went with a shredded beef empanada and a chicken empanada as well as their croissant. The empanadas were a bit of a let down, especially for the price. It may be the area but $5 for an empanada seemed a bit high to me but to each their own. Both the meat and chicken empanada could have had more flavor, the crust was both crunch and doughy at the same time. I was hoping more from them. We LOVED their croissant though, it was crispy and flaky and buttery. We would definitely come back for their croissants. Very friendly and quick service. There is plenty of parking but you can tell it does get full in their prime rush hours. This place is clearly popular with locals (which is always a good sign). This spot was recommended to us by our Venezuelan family members in the area. It was packed when we arrived and took a bit to get through the line. The space is small and tight to navigate. It was all worth it though. I've never had a Cachito de Jamón with SO MUCH ham inside of it. I was almost overwhelmed by the filling, but in the best way. Of course we had to try a tequeño which is a classic Venezuelan snack. Cute cafe! I believe they serve Argentinian and Venezuelan dishes. I thought it was small but as you walk in further it's bigger than I thought. Amazing pastries!!! And the empanadas are the best I ever had! And they serve it with a delicious cilantro sauce. My kids and I have never been a huge fan of empanadas, but these are sooo amazing! My kids will ask to have it for breakfast. They bake and cook everything there in the back kitchen which is pretty big. The coffee is so good and addictive. I am a regular customer and hadn't thought of leaving a review as it is just a comforting and pleasant part of my weekly routine. The ladies are always welcoming and happy, conferring to the place a light and joyful vibe. The rewards system is great way to appreciate regular and returning customers. Don't get discourage by the front entry that looks like there is only bread and cookies... make a left were the tres leches and sweets are located. Thank us later! ;) The tres leches desert was WONDERFUL, my advice is please get your own because sharing can be troubling. LOL! Tried their pastel nata a few years ago and I remember it being pretty good & authentic. Stopped in today and got some to go and took a bite & was sadly disappointed. The taste was like sweetened condensed milk, not yummy eggy custard. The pastry dough was dense and left lasting taste of lard or shortening. Full disclosure: this isn't my first time visiting this bakery. The first time I went to Moises bakery, they had just recently moved in. They had very limited selections, and quite frankly I ended up leaving because nothing really interested me. However recently, I stumbled upon their Instagram page, and noticed that they had been receiving overwhelming positive feedback, so I knew I had to check them out, especially since I had been on a hunt for Venezuelan ham bread traditionally serve during the holidays. As I walked in, I noticed a 360 change to this location. Their decor was definitely trendier. They also had a larger selection of baked goods that range from Venezuelan to argentinean options. However, as stated before I was on the hunt for the Venezuelan ham bread served during the holidays. The ham bread was nice, but thankfully my hungry boyfriend decided to order a cachito and that was the real star of today's meal. I had read in a few reviews that it didn't have enough ham. I beg to differ. I even uploaded a video showing the full content of the cachito. I will say that it's definitely doughy but I think that's the intention. We stopped by for breakfast a Saturday morning, Memorial day weekend. It was a bit confusing to find our way in as parking/entrance is on the back. Parking is a bit tight, something to keep in mind if driving a long truck. The staff was super friendly (5/5) and they all spoke Spanish. You order from the counter and get your food there as well. We had (2) empanadas: one queso, one carne mechada: loved them both! We also had (2) ham cachitos, and though not our favorite, they were completely stuffed with ham!! The natural orange juice we ordered was warm (no ice, not coming out of the fridge either) AND one of our cachitos was cold (had to ask them to heat it up, which they did promptly) The space is a little tight in general (difficult to move around) but has a nice homey Venezuelan vibe. This location is nothing like the one on the Beach off 73rd and A1A, where the baked goods there are actually really done nicely, and this location is just so far worse. It's also much smaller and offers far less items. 1/5 Cachito for $2.50 each, and it was all dough, and so little ham. A complete let down compared to how well they're made at their other location, the baker on premises should go and learn how their other store does it. 2/5 Arepa Beauty Queen $8.00 had chicken salad in it with avocado stuffed into an arepa. The stuffing was nice, but the arepa was really hard and a little burned. 3/5 Arepa Pabellon $7.00 was a little better; not sure if the cheese was supposed to be melted, but the meat wasn't hot enough to do so. I'd like to go again, but this location doesn't excite me it giving them another try. They have another location off the 79th Street Causeway inside a car wash, just west of the bridge on the Miami side, but that sign has been up for 6 months or so...but still no action. read more

We wanted some breakfast that wasn't Starbucks and nearby - this place is possibly a hidden gem but by how crowded it was, I don't think it's too hidden! The locals know where it's at! So we found ourselves limited to a few types of meat in bread things (sorry I don't know what they were called!) because anything else would have been a 30 minute wait. It's all good, these were very tasty! And oh man, you cannot beat the prices. But let me take a minute to talk about the coffee. My husband said it best: "I forget how mediocre Starbucks is until I have some really good coffee." And this was some good coffee! I'm not even a fan of real coffee so I got a caffe latte and mmm, it was probably so good in part because I didn't bother trying to order it "skinny" in Spanish. This is a small bakery with old school methods. They bake bread every day before noon. I bought a round loaf of crusty italian bread, a loaf of challah bread, beef empenadas and coffee. The girl at the counter couldn't have nicer even though it was closing time. She took the time to explain what different types of bread they had. My only regret is passing up on one of those strawberry tarts. The italian bread was tasted right after buying. It was fresh, flavorful and crusty. It's not like bread from up north but a close 2nd. The beef empenada was delicious. Better than most I have ever had. I can't wait to make french toast with the challah bread. This is right on Hallendale beach Blvd. You will notice it by all of the loaves of bread in the window. There is no parking on the street in.front. I had to kill a couple of hours while getting my car fixed and was desperate for breakfast. There is a huge variety of arepas, baked goods and breads. I ordered the three egg omelet. It was well seasoned and cooked, filled with mushrooms and onions. I loved the crispy hot arepa on the side and an American coffee to drink. Even though it was raining, I sat outside under the awning. I wasn't the only one, this place is happening. I have tried this place twice now, and there food is really good. I was shocked that their work hours were the same, considering it is a holiday. We ordered an arepa with cheese, 6 cheese sticks, arepa with tomatoes, cheese, and Avocados. Two pan de bono and a flan. The food was warm, fresh and very fulfilling. I love ordering some Sunday breakfast, and I will definitely be a regular here. The only tip I have is the arepa gets pretty messy with the cheese, tomato, and avocado.
