    Strawberry moon chocolate bar
    Deanna D.

I was SO excited to try some chocolate from Chocolata after hearing so many great things! I finally had the chance to do that today, and let me tell you, this place is great. Not only do they have a great variety of options, the quality of this chocolate is unmatched. The ingredients are clearly listed on the back, so if you have any allergies then you're good to go! I think it's a plus that the owner is really into natural methods and spirituality as well! I got the Strawberry Moon bar which has strawberry, peanuts, and chocolate. This is easily the best chocolate I've ever had. This chocolate is made with love! Please support this business, and take the time to chat with the owner. 5/5

Omg the chocolate here is delicious!!! This spot has such great positive energy... it is gem and be sure to catch it when it's open ....I bought the following chocolates bars and I will say it's hard to say which one is my favorite because each of them are amazing !!!! The Milky crater crunch bar melts in your mouth and literally I down this so quick I had no ideas it was gone when I reached for my last bite. I also got the meteor munch and Pepe rose full moon bars. I will say the from the zen series both the dreamer and guru are money as it is smooth in taste and you can taste each uniquely crafted flavor/spice with any one overpowering the other ... very harmonious... I got a few of the truffles like the signature mystic eyes (milk chocolate), the traditional cocoa powdered trigger with spice , the coconut truffle and pistachio...... I can't the rest because I got 9 and each were mouth watering in the display. I can't wait when winter and it gets colder so I can try the sipping hot Chocolate....

Where do I start !! This place is awesome and the selections are out of this world. The blends and combinations that they choose are executed perfectly. My favorite so far is the matcha chocolate bar. I also tried one of my friends chocolate bites that had a hint of passion fruit in it. With the holidays right around the corner I would highly recommend making this one of your stops to browse for stocking stuffers.

Who doesn't love some type of chocolate?! My son is allergic to nuts, but only if he eats them. I was happy to find a nut-free option or two here. The candy bar looks like it will be great, can't wait. The pretzel was good but I would've liked a few more hazelnut chips. Would love to come back and try a few more pieces of the individual candy. Some had fruit, but I went for the nutty varieties (mostly) today.

So excited for Birmingham's first chocolatier!! Went by today and couldn't be more pleased. Beautiful and distinctively designed inside, and the lady who owns it is so kind and knowledgeable about chocolate. Her passion for it really shows, and especially in the taste of her chocolates. Perfectly balanced sweetness with a variety of tastefully chosen and unique flavor combinations. Exceptional!!

Birmingham FINALLY has a chocolatier. Hip, hip HOORAY! And she is the sweetest, most down-to-earth, lovely lady! Her charming shop is filled with delightful confections for the chocolate lover in your life (or you!). I visited on a weekday afternoon when I needed a little self-care in the form of chocolate. I selected 4 gorgeous truffles and each one was more delightful than the last. I love that the recipes aren't all standard... the roasted squash was my fave flavor and I can't wait to try what else she comes up with as the seasons change. I'll definitely be shopping Chocolata for Christmas this year and other gifting occasions!

Super cute place!!! The owner is inviting and very sweet. I would definitely try this place. The sea salt caramel and rosemary is divine.

This would be a great place to treat your grade schooler after a good report card, and even better one to stock your "candy bar" table for your next event. Sugar also rotates their seasonally themed offerings. They carry every color jelly bean, gummy, and M & M imaginable. I love to put a smaller clear glass cylinder inside a larger one- fill the space with some of the above- choosing colors based on occasion-and then put water and flowers (like gerber daisies) in the inner one. Grouping several of different heights together in various colors makes a festive centerpeice. I also discovered an abundance of the kiddo coveted Sour Belts. Which- for a Pintrest addict means- edible bow making material! Lastly, the owner is also the operator, stock girl, and cashier. Which makes for a very clean, very well run, very service oriented, very friendly, atmosphere.

The vibe is simple and homey: check out the menu board, pick your peanuts, grab a beer, and sit back in anticipation. Since I couldn't make up my mind, I went with the sampler plate. The second I bit into the collard green brine peanut, it literally burst with flavor. I'm officially a changed woman and fully convinced boiled peanuts are the ultimate Alabama snack. My only tiny heads-up: the brine tasting station is a awesome idea, but a quick warning sign like "Careful with these bottles!" would be a lifesaver--I definitely managed to splash a bit on myself! Bottom line? The service was wonderful, the peanuts were incredible, and I'll definitely be dragging the rest of my friends back to this unique Birmingham gem.

It is like a magical French bakery/general store, tucked away like a secret garden. Am I in south France or Birmingham? HARD TO TELL I don't know if I enjoyed the treats more or all the visual delights. The treats were just amazing. I brought my husband and all of my kids so we got a nice sampling of goodies from the cases. It was all perfection. Cookies were crispy on the edges, appropriately soft in the middle. The almond cake was buttery and sweet, but not too sweet. Muffins were excellent. The food is so well done. The ambiance here? Extraordinary. Every corner, every ceiling tile, every display has been so thoughtfully curated. This place was such a treat for my eyes and my imagination. I could sit for hours and just enjoy all the clever ways furniture is used. My kids played in the little play area- even that was done so beautifully! It's such a unique place with it being both a restaurant as well as a shop. It's got a very nostalgic feel to it with the decor and items for sale. Being very laid back, down to earth and often times socially awkward, I admit that it felt a little hoity toity, while also being a very welcoming spot. It's hard to explain, so you'll have to check it out for yourself. Also worth noting for the plus size community: the chairs are not plus size friendly. (See zoomed in photo) The employees there were on top of their jobs and super helpful. They cleaned up the tables that emptied quickly, as the lunch crowd trickled in. The food was good. I loved the creative presentation of the sampler plate! The pimento cheese was very cold and hard to spread but I still it. The toast triangles were delicious! While they offer a lot of excellent coffee choices. I only got a 1/2 & 1/2 tea. Even the restroom was really neat with the retro decor. I'd definitely go back.
