The ONLY place to buy homemade chocolate in Birmingham! They've been at it since 2020 (and you know…read morewhat that means!)!!! Starting out a block east of Sidewalk Film Festival theater and Pizitz food hall, they have settled for now across the street from Birmingham Shambhala Meditation Center on the soft corner of Forrest Park, Avondale, Lakeview, and Highland Park. My favorites are the raspberry truffle or the Venus bar which is basically the same thing but flattened into bar form. I can only eat half a square at a time. Because it is SOOOO GOOD. Satisfying. I mean, it's the best. I'll guarantee your money back personally;) Follow your heart. Go with your gut. Is it milk, dark, or buttery white that calls to you? Do yourself a favor and indulge in the sipping chocolate while you shop. Available Thursday thru Sat, this delectable desire you didn't know you had FULL FILLED. Again, I'll pay you back if it doesn't work out. This melty supreme divine sauce just might change your life. And you deserve it.

I've been searching far and wide for the trending Dubai chocolate and I've found some at Chocolata…read more I've had a few of their chocolates before, everything is incredible. All of their products are handmade in small batches. This is certainly some of the highest quality chocolate I've had, and it's a bonus since it's a small, locally owned business. The inside of the store is super small but they have a lot of options. It's a tad expensive BUTTT I'm willing to splurge since it's a small business that only sells high quality items. They also have samples out (at least for each time I've visited). And they et me take a pin for free since I made a purchase!

So when a friend calls you up and asks, "Hey, you want to get some nuts?" you don't ask questions…read more You just get in the car and head straight to Alabama Peanut Co. Walking in, you're hit with the smell of brine and beer in the absolute best way possible. The vibe is simple and homey: check out the menu board, pick your peanuts, grab a beer, and sit back in anticipation. Since I couldn't make up my mind, I went with the sampler plate. The second I bit into the collard green brine peanut, it literally burst with flavor. I'm officially a changed woman and fully convinced boiled peanuts are the ultimate Alabama snack. My only tiny heads-up: the brine tasting station is a awesome idea, but a quick warning sign like "Careful with these bottles!" would be a lifesaver--I definitely managed to splash a bit on myself! Bottom line? The service was wonderful, the peanuts were incredible, and I'll definitely be dragging the rest of my friends back to this unique Birmingham gem.

I also think that this is a great place to just grab some peanuts, a cold beer or drink, and relax. The service is always so pleasant, and it is just a fun and relaxing atmosphere. My last visit, I went with my sister on a Saturday night while we were downtown, and we had such a good time. I will definitely have this as one of my regular casual hangout spots, as I always have the best time when I stop in. Their peanuts are also very tasty, and they have a super wide variety of choices. I love this place.

If I could eat an actual establishment, it would be this one…read more Just look at this place. I literally walked in and audibly gasped. It is like a magical French bakery/general store, tucked away like a secret garden. Am I in south France or Birmingham? HARD TO TELL I don't know if I enjoyed the treats more or all the visual delights. The treats were just amazing. I brought my husband and all of my kids so we got a nice sampling of goodies from the cases. It was all perfection. Cookies were crispy on the edges, appropriately soft in the middle. The almond cake was buttery and sweet, but not too sweet. Muffins were excellent. The food is so well done. The ambiance here? Extraordinary. Every corner, every ceiling tile, every display has been so thoughtfully curated. This place was such a treat for my eyes and my imagination. I could sit for hours and just enjoy all the clever ways furniture is used. My kids played in the little play area- even that was done so beautifully! The store had such a wide selection of cute tea towels and little gifts. If you want to surprise someone with a beautiful little happy, or birthday gift, or Mother's Day gift, there's plenty to choose from here! I rarely buy things from little stores like this, but I purchased several gifts for girlfriends and my mom and an apron for myself. It's easy to get caught up!

I was looking for a place to grab some lunch but didn't want a drive thru/fast food experience…read more This location was very close to my location and the reviews looked great! It's such a unique place with it being both a restaurant as well as a shop. It's got a very nostalgic feel to it with the decor and items for sale. I saw a couple students but when I visited I mostly saw upper class looking Caucasian ladies. Being very laid back, down to earth and often times socially awkward, I admit that it felt a little hoity toity, while also being a very welcoming spot. It's hard to explain, so you'll have to check it out for yourself. Also worth noting for the plus size community: the chairs are not plus size friendly. (See zoomed in photo) The employees there were on top of their jobs and super helpful. They cleaned up the tables that emptied quickly, as the lunch crowd trickled in. The food was good. I loved the creative presentation of the sampler plate! The pimento cheese was very cold and hard to spread but I still it. The toast triangles were delicious! While they offer a lot of excellent coffee choices. I only got a 1/2 & 1/2 tea. Even the restroom was really neat with the retro decor. I'd definitely go back.
