I saw on Facebook that Peterbrooke Chocolatier is having their grand opening today, so I had to go check it out. Boy, am I glad I did! They had samples galore due to the grand opening and I got to try several of their yummy selections, including chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered pineapple, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered rice krispie treats, etc. While they will not have the same variety of samples on the future outside of the grand opening event, I was told that they will always have a plate of samples out close to the register! They have milk chocolate and dark chocolate for sure....and I am sure white chocolate but I didn't pay attention to that since I am not a white chocolate kind of gal. I can honestly say their milk chocolate is quality stuff. You can definitely tell the difference, no cheap imitation here! Also, they have gelato available in the store.....I want to say at least 10 flavors? I forgot to get an exact count, but they look delicious. Also, and this is a big one for me, they have chocolate caramel green apples. Yes, they do! So there is only one other store in Birmingham that I know of with chocolate caramel apples....but it's no good as the chocolate the other store uses is just not up to par and leaves a funny taste. I eat a lot of chocolate caramel apples and currently I mail-order them as I expect them to be of certain quality. I decided to call the local store to confirm they would accept the GC and the sweetest lady went above & beyond to help me place an order through the store's register. She sent me a screen shot for confirmation and mailed the GC that day, to family. They were so surprised & pleased! Apparently the online e-Gift Cards can only be used for ONLINE purchases. So keep that in mind.
