I had the mushroom frittata... I don't throw this word around lightly... it was awesomesauce. I also had the matcha latte. Also delectable. Bandit is a cool spot! Right downtown, across from Paper Doll bar. It's a good space to come and do some midday work, minimal distractions. The pastries look sooooo good--I will be back with HASTE for that chocolate croissant. Service is quick and they'll give you your coffee in a nice mug if you're hanging around to eat in. We love sustainability. No frills, no notes.

Great food! Great service! You just have to get here earlier enough to have more of a selection to try.

Stopped in to bandit while spending a day in Birmingham checking out the food scene. It was top on my list and I can say it didn't disappoint. Inside is cute and the perfect amount of space with a few outside seats. The stay was super friendly and kind. We made small talk about my trip and delicious pastries while I ordered and I felt very welcomed. As for the pastries. I picked the pumpkin cheese cake cruffin, triple ginger cookie, snicker doodle cookie, and strawberry poptart. Cruffin was tender and delicious with ample filling. The cookies were the perfect softness with a little chew and a slight crunch on the edge. Absolutely perfect. The strawberry poptart was a little disappointing. It's thick and puffy so you're expecting a filled pastry full of chunky strawberries and fruity delights. Instead you bite in and it's a hallow cave inside about an inch thick of air with a tiny smear of strawberry jam at the bottom. It was so little you almost couldn't even taste it against the buttery pastry itself. Over all 3 out of 4 being home runs I'd absolutely go back. Plus the hospitality was top notch.

Bandit delivers solid pastries and equally solid coffee. Everything tastes intentional and well-made, with that fresh, flaky quality you want from a legit patisserie. The coffee pairs well with the pastries, smooth, balanced, and not overpowering. The homemade pop-tarts are good, with a great crust and flavor, but they could use just a little more filling to really take them over the top. Still enjoyable, just leaves you wanting a bit more of that center. Overall, Bandit is a reliable spot.

My first time at this patisserie. I wanted something savory and the clerk suggested this. It was amazing. The clerk brought ut to my table and was very nice. Great for single day out or for family.

The pastries are pretty good I especially love their chocolate croissants! You do have to go early if you want a good selection since they sell out pretty fast, but the barista was super sweet and greeted me right away. The coffee was really good too! Also they have a lot of seating which is nice!

Incredible experience.. the food, place, and people were all amazing. You can tell the love what they do, and the baked goods really show it. I've had pastries all over the world, and these are some of the best, by a long shot. I was blown away that we have a bakery like this in Birmingham. We really haven't had one thing that wasn't good, but the pop tarts, frittatas, and cookies (especially the ginger ones) have never disappointed.

The best pastry shop in Birmingham hands down. Come here now. Come here early. The selection is varied. The service is warm and friendly and quick. I had a hard time choosing so my daughter did it for me. The STRAWBERRY POP TART was giant and crispy, lovingly filled with strawberry jam, and topped with sprinkles. This is the absolute best version of a pop tart that you wish you had growing up. The TRIPLE GINGER COOKIE is the best ginger cookie thus far in my 40 years of living. It is soft and chewy with chunk of real ginger. You cannot get better than this for all you ginger lovers. The CONECUH SAUSAGE SCONE and EASTABOGA HONEYBUN feature local sausage and local honey respectively. Not to miss as well. The CHOCOLATE CHIP SCONE is a giant sconified version of the popular cookie. What you'll get is a soft pillowy interior with a nice crisp crust, strewn with huge chocolate chips in every bite. Ambiance and vibe emit chic modern cafe, but most importantly come here for the pastries. Well done Bandit Patisserie. I'll be back here soon.

Omg! La Fete owns this place it is just as good. Friendly service with a cafe feel but the pastries are where it's at!!

I went on a Friday afternoon hoping to get one of their delicious homemade pop tarts. I walk in to see a London Fog tart and a chocolate chip cookie on display. I ask if there are any pop tarts available and they said no, what we have is displayed. So you have the option of two things to eat on a Friday at 1pm? So I get the London fog tart and had seen a free coffee advertised with a pastry purchase. I ask if I can get the free coffee and they oblige. But it wasn't going to be offered to me otherwise. I didn't get a huge sense of welcoming and helpfulness. Was the pastry or service *bad*? No. Was it exceptional? Also no. Am I dying to go back? Only when I'm sure they have pop tarts available because those are delicious and the only reason I gave two stars.

I have been wanting to try this place for quite awhile and finally was nearby at the right time. Everything looked great but I had came for the King Cake pastry I had seen on social media. It was amazing and I would highly recommend it! Staff were great, knowledgeable and engaging. If the parking situation was better, maybe a to-go spot or 2 out front, I would be more inclined to stop by very regularly. I don't live or work close enough for it to be convenient otherwise.

I'm diabetic so I don't use sugar and truvia is just nasty. It tastes horrible and makes your drink taste horrible. Now mind you they will use all kinds of syrups with dyes and additives and sugars but nope not Splenda. That's bad for you. The 50 grams of sugar in a single vanilla latte is totally fine. We're ok with that even though that alone is over the recommended amount. But Splenda no we can't allow that. Will never be back.

I was specifically super excited to try their seasonal matcha special, which was made with horchata (also from Salud!) and strawberries, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, we walked in only to find they were out of the supplies needed to make the drink. :( I was caught off guard and didn't know what to order, but the barista recommended a latte with maple flavor so I went with that. The interior was clean and spacious and had a relaxed and calm but energetic feeling to it. Good place to hang out or work quietly. There's a self-service area to spruce up or fix your drink or grab lids or stir sticks. Service was nice and my drink came out quickly. It was pretty good but not really the "right" drink for me. I like my stuff on the sweet side and this was much more balanced and coffee-forward. That said, it held its own against my sugar-craving taste buds and I drank most of it, which is usually the hallmark of good brew, lol. I don't really blame them because I blanked on what to order and just went with what was suggested. It's probably a great suggestion for lots of other folks! The shop may be small, but it has a cozy, welcoming feel that makes it a comfortable place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Even though it's located in the lobby of a building, the décor gives it plenty of character and makes the space feel warm rather than temporary. I could easily see myself coming here to get some work done or simply relax for a while. I decided to try one of their seasonal drinks, the Berry & Bee Latte. While it wasn't quite my favorite flavor combination, the espresso itself was well made, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try another drink from the menu. Sometimes a seasonal special just comes down to personal preference, and this one wasn't quite for me. The standout of my visit was the chorizo, egg, and cheese empanada. It was absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of my order. There's a short wait for the empanadas, but that's because they're warmed fresh after you order, and it's well worth it. I'd gladly wait a few extra minutes for something served hot and fresh. The only area where I think the experience could be improved is staffing. During my visit, the barista had to step away from the counter several times, which left me waiting a few minutes before I could order. Having a second employee available during busier times would likely make the flow much smoother and improve the overall customer experience. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely stop by again. The comfortable atmosphere, quality coffee, and outstanding empanada make Daily Buzz Coffee worth a return trip, and I'm looking forward to trying a different latte on my next visit.
