Chocolate Bar Cafe is our local ice cream shop and they also happen to make fantastic cakes at a really reasonable price. I went around to a few other bakeries and no one compared to Chocolate Bar and Lisa's. Even the places that want to charge you $4/slice! Her cakes are so moist and the frosting is so creamy. Most slices are $1.95 each, so our cake for 180 people was $450. Which was so reasonable. Our flavors were chocolate with fudge filling, banana nut with buttercream and red velvet with cream cheese. I gave her the inspiration pic and when I saw her version in real life, I couldn't have been happier. My only regret is that I felt that I didn't have enough time to eat it! I have been to Chocolate Bar Cafe for custom cakes 3 times now. The first time that made a custom cake for a gender reveal that was absolutely perfect, and delicious. The second time I went in for a last minute cake when my son proposed to his fiance on a Saturday night. We have family dinners every Sunday, and I wanted a heart cake that day, to celebrate as a surprise. They didn't have what I wanted, and proceeded to bake exactly what I want that same day! I heard about The Chocolate Bar Cafe from my parents who had Spumoni from there. My fiancé and I went to check it out, and it was a wonderful experience. The shop is adorable and so totally different than any other ice cream place I had ever been. You really felt like you were sucked into a time machine and brought back to the 1950's. Very cool! Went here last weekend, and the cupcakes were awesome! I got the Cherry Chip as well as the Banana Split. My total was $5 but it's worth it. My family has been buying cakes from here for about 6 years and every single occasion we've bought them for people have trampled us to get the name of this place. My baby shower cake the February before last was amazing as was my brothers cake last July but after that, I'm not sure what happened but I can clearly taste a HUGE difference. This is the ultimate sit down for sundae experience. Mack is conveniently accessed from I-94 and 8 Mile Road. It took us a half-hour to get here and I am definitely coming back. On my list of top three ice cream destinations. Also love Guernsey in Novi and Calder Dairy downriver. Adorable place good ice cream but my family and I were out celebrating my daughters birthday so we stopped in one evening after dinner all twelve of us. To my surprise the menu board with prices shown were not the prices charged. The young lady said that their prices went up and they just didn't have time to change them on the board. So with that being said my whole family was over charged. Now I do believe that is against the Michigan Bounty Law. I didn't want to spoil the evening with my family so I paid the price that was asked but, I will not give them my business again.
