We were on holiday in Door County and stopped in for a spot of coffee. They have regular coffee and all the fixings to make the foo foo ones too (which is what I like). We were definitely pleased with our choice and also grabbed some baked goods and candy. Cute place to visit if you are in town.

We went here because we were in the mood for chocolate and were pleasantly surprised to find out they had ice cream also. My son couldn't stop talking about how delicious the ice cream was. I split one of their GIANT peanutbutter cups with my husband and thought it was heavenly. It was nice to be able to walk down by the harbor and sit in the gazebo in the park. If you are in Egg Harbor I would give it a try. I am not a coffee drinker, but judging by the amount of people that kept coming in, it must be pretty good.

How can you NOT stop at a place called Chocolate Chicken? As a coffee fiend (carry-over from my days in Seattle), I'm always on the lookout for good coffee shops. This makes the list. They have an assortment of treats (truffles, chocolate chickens, and the like), plenty of coffee, and a local honey/jam shop in the back. I ordered the Honey Bee (white chocolate, honey, and cinnamon latte) and it was DELISH. Usually, I drink my coffee black, but sometimes to just want to treat yourself. Meanwhile, in the honey/jam section, there were coffee tasting sections. If you like a bold, dark roast, the "Black Satin" coffee (it's listed as "Black Satan" on the menu) is your go-to. Deeply rich in sight and smell, this is the strong stuff people dream of when they're looking for a big-bodied coffee. They also had the flavored coffee "Jamaican Me Crazy" which also comes in decaf. That came off as a medium roast, with almost an amaretto note to it. Will need to get a cup of that whilst I'm in the area. Plenty of sweets to choose from, and plenty of coffee and teas to keep you awake to try them all.

White chocolate raspberry latte was great! Cherry scone from Pink bakery was just okay (too cakey/undercooked for a scone) $8.50

Breakfast. Wonderful on the rooftop deck with a view of the bay. Good hearty egg and potato dishes. Excellent hash. Friendly service.

Had the best door county strawberry shake for dessert last night. My husband had the caramel one with double espresso. He was in heaven.

Sarah was so accommodating and easy to work with--she dropped the cake off at the assisted living facility where my grandma lives and the cake was a huge hit! My grandmother loved the flavor of the cake and said the decorations on top were lovely. Note: smash cakes are usually for first birthday parties so the kiddo can destroy a cake and everyone else gets to actually eat cake, but they're also the perfect size to give to a person who lives alone! I don't think my grandma understands what smash cakes are, but she certainly wasn't aware that was the original intent of her cake--chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and salted caramel buttercream. I've been hearing about it every single time I talk to her. Next time we need a special dessert for a family event, I'm recommending Flour Girl. I've been telling my family who live in DC about it!

The assortment of cupcakes we ordered were chocolate cupcakes covered and filled with dark chocolate ganache, vanilla with buttercream & lemon curd frosting, and red velvet with buttercream frosting. Our guests raved about how delicious each one was! Yum! Very east ordering process as well as pickup. Sarah DeNamur is an excellent pastry chef and we will definitely order from her again! Thanks, Sarah!

The food was…read moremostly good, the setting--we sat outside on their deck--is stunning, and the service was good. I was having lunch with my husband and a friend of ours. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tacos, my husband ordered the Whitefish Tacos, and my friend ordered two appetizers as her meal--the guac and the ceviche. She also ordered a cocktail--I think the margarita (I remember she said she wanted salt). My husband liked his tacos quite a bit, but one odd thing is that the lunches come with either fries or watermelon. As he isn't a watermelon fan, he got the fries, which is the odd thing is having fries with tacos. But as someone who is really picky about her fries, these were very good--fresh and hot. The Ahi Tacos were also very good. For $20, I would've like maybe more than two tacos, but since I ate a lot of his fries, I wasn't starving. And I do realize food prices have not been going down... My friend's guac was fine, but her ceviche was not ceviche. The first time it came out, it was green--it looked exactly like the guac, so she sent it back, explaining that one should be able to see the fish and it shouldn't be green (and she tasted it--whatever it was, it was not ceviche). The second time, it was certainly fish, but it was more like a fish salad, but it did not have the acid in it that one expects in ceviche, as that is what "cooks" the fish. She said it tasted it fine, but just not--yeah, I've said this a bunch--ceviche. Oh, and her cocktail was fine. We will definitely go back next time we're up that way. On a sunny day, it would be gorgeous. Our day was a bit iffy, and we were lucky--we got our bill just as it began to rain, so we were able to duck under the covered bar to settle up, have a brief convo with the bartender, and went downstairs to the Chocolate Chicken to get a piece of chocolate (my husband's and friend's chocolate was fine--I'm a pain in the neck, and I wanted darker chocolate with more pecans!) and wait out the rain.
